Thanks TheEternalDamned, that's similar to w hat I wanted to explain. It depends on the person's voice. It doesn't hold true for everyone, e.g. your mother. But my singing teacher taught me, that high sopranos as Sharon and I am, should avoid singing in too deep ranges, because it's unnatural and unhealthy for our vocal chords.
Btw, there is an older version of Ice queen (German Single version 2003) where she is singing it that deep too.
@WolkeSafini They've done this version of Ice Queen many times, in special acoustic sessions, radio visits etc. But she also sings quite deep in the new album, take Murder, or In The Middle Of The Night for example, and her voice this tour seems to have been better and more powerful than any of their other tours, she was even using her old Mother Earth era voice in Deceiver Of Fools! So perhaps the break from most songs hitting soprano notes has actually done her voice some good!

@WolkeSafini@ashestoyoursoul it depends on the person sometimes even talking low can damage vocals chords. Ever heard of Elisa Dushku? she's an actress she had to train her voice higher because her low voice tones were destroying her vocal chords.
Nah, I really don't like this version. Sharon's voice doesn't sound good when she's singing like that. It isn't healthy for her voice. But, alas, she's learning to use vibrato... yeah.

My mother is almost 61 and she can sing from soprano to alto, and she can go very low, and she has never had problems with her voice, she's been singing for years. I think you are wrong, and besides I actually like it when Sharon tries to show her range and sing lower. It is definitely NOT unhealthy to sing in a low range if your voice is capable of doing that.
