Went to the Reunion on the 30th July, First time back to Bowlers since 1997, went with a mate I haven't seen in 13 years and we had the time of our lives!! It was like stepping back in a Time Machine.....Loved every minute of it!.....Great atmosphere!...Banging Tuneeess!...and Ace Peeps!!!
It was so good we've booked tickets for Fantazia in Oct......42 and living Life@Bowlers again! haha! Love It!! xx :)
I was there brasstacks007 from the first nights to pretty much the end, I know what you mean. There was love, amazing tunes, no booze needed, great atmosphere, gorgus girls all around, meet new friends every weekend. Services afterwards for more amazing shananigans. We were part of something that will never be repeated or understood by the new generation of kids that think nights out at a bar is life. We all experienced something special and I really mean that. I'll be telling the grandkids...

Wow you people need to get off your high horse and realise that you're not the only generation to have a youth. Constantly slagging off the current generation and basing modern youth culture on the X-Factor etc. is ridiculous. There's so much going on at the moment in dance music....the house/trance scene is still huge and Dubstep's taking off now and the kids nowadays have got more drugs than sense. Watch videos of Sankeys and Warehouse Project realise what the youth of today is about
@WythenshaweMancunia seriously man, it was special. it was love and music, totally raw and not commercial bollocks. yes they had to make money etc. but the value for money was out of this world. i wish you were there mate, you would have loved it, trust me.
@RobCrutchley Well considering Bowlers opens on the 28th May I'll be there to see it myself........before you bore me with the old skool bollocks yes the crowd was probably better back in the day bla bla bla but this is the closest I'll get without borrowing Ryan Giggs' time machine....PS United play Barca on the same night so I've gotta make a serious decision between the London or Bowlers.....MUFC OK!!!!!!!!!!!!
@WythenshaweMancunia Drugs? if you call a 2 quid pill that contains 0 percent mdma drugs then u must still be in ya 20s , the dance scene now is no where near like it was in the early 90s now its chavs with glow sticks jumping around to "happy hardcore " for fucks sake imao, its about as friendly as a millwall v westham game now, 26 of us are going to bowlers on sat just for one last dance in the place and 2 remmber how good life nights where , im fucked if im going in the cheesey ardcore room
@bobnudd The very fact you're judging today's dance scene on happy hardcore and glowsticks pretty much proves how out of touch you actually are and how much you know/don't know! Judging a pill by price as well? Not cool! If you want purity try 'Magic' or MDMA powder, you'll be rocking your tits off. I also would be going Bowlers this weekend, also for the Old Skool rather than Hardcore, if it didn't clash with the CL Final; and the fact it shuts at 3am, just doesn't cut it for this generation!
@WythenshaweMancunia Im not knocking the youth of today but on a old skool vid your going to get old skool views , i belive there having a big screen tv up for the final m8 anyways ,and u can pay on the door as long as u phone up first so come along and bring some of that mdma my way ,them 2 pound pills around here dont even make ya eyes big never mind get you rockin ya tits off , heres to hopin i bump into a good un inside :)
@bobnudd I'm going to town to watch it but I may see you in there after pal, hopefully celebrating, maybe having some happy powder to consolidate myself if not haha!
i am 35 i long for a life again. once someone jumped in front of my car and bounced of the bonnet he dropped a white glove the next week it was the talk. i wasnt in a fit state to drive after that my mate drove back for me
BOWLERS 92,93,94,95 saturday nites 2gram of whiz,2 or 3doves \o/ ,fuckin awsome. then rivington services or sometimes under the m62 next to church @ worsley roundabout till about 7am.the best times and tunes ever, all shit now : (
@doubleblue1878 how can the house scene ever be dead you absoloute tit!!! it will go on for ever its not about what clothes you should be dancing in at that time fashion ruined house and stupid small peoples attitudes like yours
THIS PLACE WAS LEGENDARY......i had 4 years of messy saterday nights in this place...normaly sat at the back near the big speaker off ma tits..... yehhhhh.. ;)
im 21 but i love da 90`s rave scene and music it looks amazing i wish i was there not in the era im in now its shit all these gangsters and that like some ` said drag them 2 a rave and give them a disco biscuit and they wont go back innit
dude i miss them days so much i cry and im a 44 year old man now, im fucking sick of the x factor, what the fuck has gone wrong with our country . back then i thought this is it , a new dawn of unity in our country! now all theose kids killin each other ,listen to fucking gangsta rap n wanting guns , drag em to a rave and gime em a dove job done.
I'm in complete agreement with you dude, there's no happy trippers now, just bad attitudes and trash! Cheers for using the word "dude"! I thought I was the only one left!
Christ I thought it was me being mega nostalgic..those were such carefree, fuckin fantastic days and being a 41 year old mother of two, I thought I was just getting old n daft, but it WAS a different world then...the scene was so new n fresh..what's new n fresh now??!! There'll be a scene out there, I suppose I'm just not on it any more!
@brasstacks007 mate couldnt agree more, i have put on 1 oldschool party and i am 14, it was an ok turn out considering it was the first party and i am hopefully expecting more for the next one, hoping for the 150 mark.
It isn't a patch on the days of the pleasuredome, fantazia, galactica, shellys, eclipse...........
where abouts you living as i am hoping to put on a party in kent.
Same here guys,i'm 41 now,and my life now is useless as shit..i often get upset that i'm older..sometimes i lie awake all night wondering where it all went, half my family are dead, all my mates are either dead,or married and moved away..life back then was great,it was fookin unbeatable..out with your mates, avin a bear and a laugh, meet girls and enjoy some top mixes and tunes, nice n chilled, and you felt quite safe out n about on your tod at night, not like that now..i will never feel good again !!
hey i was here when ultracynic played 'live' nothinf is forever eh, all the girls cried, came from our usual club angels in burnley, what a big place this was eh..... still got my records and decks an i'm over forty now
Tried to get up there one night m8 after hearing a mix tape and never ever made it. fucking rocking piano choon on it that i never did find the name of either but someone doing a nice job M.C.ing over it Dave angel?? is that right id love to get hold of the track though, never mind. memories ehg mate.
I agree....i loved life and bounce. Does anyone remember the national anthem @ bowlers.Big bull dog on a union jack flag i think the flyer was. Started dancing at the back and within 10 minutes i was up at the front. god i miss those days.
man......hackets...shaboos...shellys....quadrant park......pleasure drome....thunderdome in middleton......bowlers.....monroes.......pepermint place......park hall........the hacienda....fuck man...makin my hairs stand up thinkin about it..still have a 2 hour mix from park and pickering 91...W O W them days eh......
The dance scene in early 92 was still pretty much unified so you would get house, hard house, techno, breakbeat and every other flavour of things bleepy and beaty all played from the same stage in the same night
Are you sure you're not mistaking "rave" for "happy hardcore" - that beautifully specialised high speed and helium vocal sonic assault? Easy mistake to make. Especially if you were still at school at the time.
miss those days, we used to represent from chester, 2000 people and no alchohol licence, check out 6.00 minutes dead sez it all, bring it back bring it back bring it back check out7.46, papau new guinea over aLIVE P.A !!!!
omg!!! tunes. bowlers was 'THE' only north west venue, yes there was maximes, club kinetic, doncaster warehouse, hacienda (shut as the rest got goin), it was the mecca of the north!!
damn i wish we had had mobile camera phones or digital cameras back then. it was an amazing time

Real house played there. Not that rave shit.
Thank god the rave scene crumbled by 94.
