I did that at the gym in the hotel I stayed at for a mile. at 0.94 I bumped it up to 12.1, 12.2, 12.3 then at 0.98 miles I hit increase speed and the thing shut down on me. The next day I went 12.3 mph for a mile and finished 4:52. Hardest treadmill run ever and I almost died at 0.97, nearly flew off the thing.
wished my tread mill can do 12mph. For some reason I can run faster with less effort opposed to running slower which for me take alot more energy. for the same duration
I just did some simple calculation....in order for a runner to complete a marathon in 2 hours and 37 minute, a runner has to run an avg of 10 mph. WOW!!! Fast runners also has long strides...
12 mph is no big deal...thats a 5 minute mile pace. Impressive if you can maintain that speed for 5 min. Any moderatlely good runner can attain that speed for a short period.
World record holder for a marathon averages at 12.2mph for the entire 2hours 4 min. Sprinters can reach speeds of 26mph. I think ill just take the car eh! lol
@rogerio154 Actually closer to 12.6 mph. That 0.4 mph may not seem like much, but it's the difference between 1st in the world and 627th (from alltime-athletics. com) .
