I love Dorothy Paul, seen the great lady many, many times live on stage...and have just read that she has announced her retirement...l am devastated...wish l could get back to see Dorothy at Glasgow's Pavilion...maybe if the right offer is made it will encourage Dorothy to tread the boards again...Thanks Dorothy for many years of first class entertainment...hope to see you again...Kindest regards from Raymond, Gran Canaria...
i,m from the same suburb of Glasgow as Dorothy (Dennistoun) and i left when i was 30..13 years ago.
in one of her shows she talks abt her father taking her along Duke Street...getting a big pile of comics from the comic shop then to the Rendez Vous Cafe for ice cream....my Dad did exactly the same thing for me.
i met her in a Co op in Edinburgh once and told her about this..there we were standing in a Co op aisle...both in bits! :)))
I am reading Dorothy Paul's book at the moment and she is marvelous, the things she talks about I remember my mum talking about when we were younger ...a wonderful lady and her shows are magic.
I remember Dorothy Paul from a programme made by Scottish Television years ago...she was brilliant then, and she's still brilliant now. I love watching and listening to her..xxx
