this is Dieter, whos done the Marshall Rosenberg subtitles, just discovered this here. I found this inspiring. The devine weapons.... I have been attracted to a lot of research abt the "crisis" for months, and I feel, clarity is a number one weapon. clarity is powerful. An understanding that is so clear, that it is knowing instead of believing.
@dietermaas hey Dieter I am still looking for the original M.Rosenberg interview to go with your great subtitles. I love the mahabharata and glad you are enjoying it too. Did you see my posting about Hyman Spotnitz?
@paulagloria well, I must admit, that I started watching it, but stumbled over some of my judgements after a while. "death drive" etc. How do you filter out, what is valuable, and what doesn't serve your needs, without using labels? Labels and judgements just seem to be so on the surface, and still seem to be main nagivation tool. I think, disregarding the "packageing" and really going from heart, is the way to go.
@paulagloria hi Paula, the hyman Spotnitz, I admit, that had some stumbling blocks for me in there. Doesn't go well with me, when people state beliefs like "death drive" with seeming "scientific authority". touches painfully on certain "autonomy" issues. ouch. :-) Not so much the beliefs themselves, but the "unawareness" of the foundation of the construct. old school, but not old enough. I am also rejecting his concept of "maturity" and other concepts of "objective not ok-ness".
u ignorant buffoon....swastik is a religious symbol in hinduism.....the nazis adapted it and used it as a symbol for their own devious acts....Just because they used it doesn't mean it belongs to them......!!!!
It is impossible to attract laksmi as the goddess of furtune is only attracted to Krishna. Although Lord Siva is charged as the destroyer of the material creation he is not an avatar. He is a demigod, but is considered one of the top most devotees to Krishna. This is why he was asking about Krishna he is his devotee not a fellow avatar.
Also according to Krishna in the Gita he is the original personality of godhead. This is also backed by the Vishnu Purana.
dont misinterpret krishna n shiva n gita in whole, krishna in gita represent atma n arjuna is budhi. shiva is not a demi god, he the universe itself he is matter shakti is energy, shiva is whole matter in d universe while krishna is the cosmic universe itself.
Krishna is paratma and we are are atma. you are teaching mayavad and you dont understand the Gita. Krishna says "IM THE ORIGINAL PERSONALITY IF GODHEAD" Budhi means knowledge and Arjuna was being taught the vedic science by Krishna so how is Arjuna Bhudhi if he takes lesson from Krishna?
this is to day awakened mother paula, when you pronounce indian words, ancient indian words which end with a letter a, you do not emphasise the a, dont say ar-ju-na say ar-jun if see u r pronouncing the a with out emphasising it.
My dear friend; Thank you!!! so much for sharing the precious knowledge with us. I hope for peace and blessings for you and your family from your deep knowledge.
mam i want to became an army officer in indian army, but i had studied mahabharta a lot from my childhood,i love it,one day a boy speak wrong words to krishna and i beat him very badly,my favourite character of mahabharata is bhisma pitamah, and i have a big painting of bhisma in my room.you know whos is bhisma pitamah in his previous birth.
mam i am vaibhav, you are a great lady and i love you,and i want to meet you at some day,of my life, and we will discuss many things of mahabharata,i love those who love mahabharata, because i love mahabharata.
but barbarik has a condition in war, that he will change his side to the losing side in war,his guru has told him,to take the side of that army which is getting losing,so if he is going to participate in war,the victory of kauraves is 100%.so pandavas came in tension.because of there own grand son.he is son of ghatotkuach, the son of bhim.,he is grand son of bhim.
there is also place in kursherta where his head was placed, there he is also worshiped,
he has sacrificed his life for the favour of dharma and thruth, his name is listed among the greatest characters of mahabharata,in front of his power, the power of other warriors
is seem to be nothing,he get those powers by godesses kali.he was a devotte of mata kali.
do you know before I even read this I was weeping at the sheer beauty. You have done your homework. You allow through the internet deeper knowledge than BR Chopra's work allowed. Much goodness will smile on you. How could it be otherwise? These are such troubled times with weapons today that can destroy everything and leaders, at least those we see, not with such nobility to handle them
barbarik has 3 powerful arrows with whom he can end the war in 3 minutes, not seconds, with one arrow he is going to cut all the elephants and horses, with second one he is going to cut all the army man,the common saniks, with 3 one he is going to kill all the maharathis and main warriors,he is the greatest and the most powerful warrior in mahabharata, but by unfortune he not participate in war, otherwise the history of mabharata is going to be differnt.he is grandson of bhimsane.
because if barbarik is going to participate, than he is going to came first from the side of pandavas,he target his first arrow towards kauravas, after his first strike half of kauraves army is going to die, kauraves has stronger and bigger army than pandavasm,by this kauravas is going to start losing, than he is going to change is side, towards kauravas, and he is going to strike the second arrow towards pandavans by his that strike all the pandavs sena is going to finish.
thats why the victory of kauravas is possible.now krishna make a plan.he go to barbarik and he ask him.i want to see your power, krishna say can you cut all the leaves of this tree, barbarik sent his arrow and all the leaves of that tree cut down, krishna had hide one leave, behind his foot,so in the end,the arrow strike at the foot of krishna, barbarik feel sorry for that, but krishna say you have to give a thing in return of that will you able to do that, barbarik say i promise you i will give.
on power of other warriors, and due to his laugh, the air came from his mouth and the saniks, the get fly many times.
that is the story of barbarik the greatest and the most powerful warrior in mahabharata.
in the end of war, both krishna and arjun meet the barbarik, arjun ask barbarik what you seen in war, barbarik said i only see the sudarshan of krishna cutting the heads of kauravas.
in this moment I'm a New Yorker...the excitment of the mahabharata is that it is the Universal Story not limited to a certain culture. The India this is talking about belongs to Everyone who has the good fortune to be introduced no matter what their accent or language. Likewise those living in India who cannot embrace this story miss a lifetime..
I wasnt making fun of any accent. I am just letting you know how it is said. I really love what you are doing here. People in India fail to see the beauty and morals taught by these great stories so they mistake it for something else for example they dont realize why they worship animals and what really means.
They dont realize religion means Dharma and your Karma(duty) is your Dharma. One of the biggest message Hinduism spreads is dont be ignorant and dont be quick to judge dont give your word before you really know and understand completely. I merely tried to correct the way you say Mahabharata because people mispronounce it because they have different accent. It wasn't in my intention to humilite or disrespect anyone.
@mrsamkc : what do you think the worship of animals means...it has been a while since I saw this episode and can't remember how it relates to the different animals that the gods and goddesses ride
It's to respect ecosystem. Take any god(ddess), s(he) is associated with an animal/bird called Vagana (means of transport). In many temples you have Sthalavriksham (sacred plant/tree) concept. It's to help, plants/animals too got worshiped and thus survive. That is why in India, a small portion of this planet, you can find a large number of species (including megafauna like elephant, tiger, rhino, etc).
Hinduism is not just spirituality and philosophy, but a lot of pure science too.
Worship of animals is to show respect for all creatures. Shiva wears the snake around his neck because he says everything created in this world is equal for him. Theres a short behind why Shiva wears the snake necklace. Shiva's animal is also a Bull (nandi) which represents Masculinity and Goddesses like parvati, Durga etc have Lions or tigers as animals that represent them those animals are aggressive and represents feminine. ;)
Vishnu can be represented with many animals but the animal or (Ban) that best represents him is the eagle whose name is Garuda. I guess as a preserver he needs to keep an eye on us like the eagle? lol

do you know Dr. Brihaspati Triguna? When I was in New Delhi in 1980 with 3,000 westerners for a Transcendental Meditation course he helped us. I've been back many times and always try to see him....he's near the Nizzamuddin railroad station
