@MofoWoW Now its gj667cc, I made this video before the "discovery" of Kepler 22b..or at least before they put the information together and announced Kepler 22b
@ignatei because we dont have the technology to look at them just find them by a stars wobble and the slight dim in the star as it passes infront of it
@niggadownniggadown Are they seriously too far to be pictured with Hubble? Reckon we can picture them with the new space telescope that will be launched in 2018? I hope so.
@ignatei they are 2 far away to image they got a different way to detect them something to do with light being changed or reflected i think or wobbled lol
WOW we are really beginning to live in the Star Wars and Dune universe, with multiple earth like planets that either are inhabitable or habitable ... I really see that many of these planets will be named after planets that exist in today's sci fi folklore (Arrakis, Tatooine, Dagobah, etc.)
Some of the folks commenting on vids such as this one need to look up Newton & study a little. It won't take too much time from your World of Warcrap, & then you might discover that the folks doing this sort of research have the basics down early in their careers & are used to talking to others that do as well.
...........It would be weird to live with such a lack of a sense of proportion. And the sort of arrogance that seems always to come with it.
all kinds of fancy dreams ,not saying it could not be, but you stand a better chance of finding life on a hanging WILL-NOT than you do of predicting life or habitability 25 TRILLION miles away .
with 3.6 times the mass how can it only have 1.4 times the gravity ?? that makes no sense...I don't think these people know what they are talking about.. all propaganda for funding
at only 35 light years away, if there were technologically advanced life and they are similar to us, then you'd think we could pick up radio chatter or maybe even TV shows - lol! Don't tell the network execs, cause next thing ya know, we'll be seeing interstellar syndication.
@HakunaMatata4eva The name of the planet is not goldilocks it is gliese HD 85512 b. The goldilocks they are talking about refers the distance from the star the planet is orbiting. If a planet is to close to a star the heat from the star boils away all the water on the planet (so no life). To far all the water freezes (so no life) It has to be just the right distance for liquid water (hence life). It is analagous to goldilocks and the three bears porridge. Glodilocks is not it's name.
@MrDenniski They could never take a picture and see signs of a civilization. All they could do was get the light needed to tell if the planets atmosphere was like earths(or similar) and has liquid water. Planets around other stars are far to distant to see the planet magnified enough and with enough resolution to be able to see the surface or alien life on it. the closest star to us is 4.3 light years 1 light year is 6 trillion miles so it is over 25 trillion miles away.
Oh come on now.. That name is just stupid.. Goldilocks dosent have a scientific sound to it.. Lol. They should come up with better names instead of naming everything after kid stories or after disney movies. :-\
Thef act we've found two planets orbiting in the Habital zone means that there are possibly millions of planets out there orbiting in habital zones. If they were rare, the chances of us actually finding any would be atronomical. I mean what are the chances that we just happened to be looking in the right place out of the billions of stars out there?
Oooooh it would be sooo cool to photo this planet on it's dark side and see lights like a web like we do here on Earth (of course if the life is advanced). I get chills thinking about it.
@MrArmlicker1 Something tells me that if they did take a picture of that the planet and saw signs of civilization I have my doubts whether they could tell the world. People are intelligent enough to comprehend such a profound discovery but . . . . . unfortunately religion is not.
Everyone who watches this video should read the book I Am Number Four by Pittacus Lore. There are some striking similarities between this planet and the one described in the book. And the comment made by @rasmann36 has many of the same characteristics as what happens in there too. I find it a little weird, maybe it's not a coincidence.
Interseting is that (HD 85512 b) aka (HR 8799) & the unconfirmed exoplanet HD 218255 have the feel of code combination. Please research this yourself HD 218255 is also known as (HR 8791) in the Alcyone Bright Star Catalogue & Google Earth sky. On Youtube, HR 8791 is aka The Homeland Terroism Preparedness Bill... We should use all our assets to building a type of Space Craft that can cultivate other planets as well. We can do it people.....
Of the billions of trillions of planets there are in our universe i don't think there is a planet as unique, special and as beautiful as our earth. If there is life somewhere out there i wonder if they are trying to reach us as much as we are trying to reach them??? I hope aliens are nice...
@Thealiya098 Depends what you mean by ''nice''. It could be a simple fish type of underwater animal. @Acrimonator Dude, google it, a DNA can survive atmosphere entry when it doesn't have an atmosphere or it is weak, earth didn't always have an atmosphere, and even if it did, the DNA would survive in the asteroid.
@Duk3N0k3m2 Yes that's true, gods are made up by people in the ancient times, they didn't have any supernatural powers(this is just my opinion, if u believe in god that's up to you so no hard feelings), the biggest theory about that says that our ancestors were aliens, and it ain't as far fetched as you might think... proof has been found, actually some of the 7 wonders are so complicated and the pieces their made of are heavy, example: the Egyptian Pyramids, and the statues on Easter Island...
@DaedalusTV I admit there are a lot of theories and no one can know forsure, but DNA came here from an asteroid? The nanoscopic strands were kept in perfect order for replication in another life form when traveling through the atmosphere and colliding with the earth at thousands of mph? And then somehow was absorbed by some animal or plant, which would have to be there in the first place which makes no sense either. I'm open to thought but I'd say your hypothesis is a fail man lol

The hunt for extrasolar planets is my favor science topic. Thanks for posting this.
I think it's really interesting that the planet is a whopping 1 billion years older than our own and only 36 light years away. You have to figure if there is ever going to be advanced life on the planet that it has to be there by now.
That doesn't look anything like my planet... I mean, that planet; because I'm born on this planet so this is my planet. I'm human, obviously. Hahaha... see I'm capable of laughter, like humans.
@daywrenn What the fuck is wrong with you man, your a fucking idiot. You definitely do need to grow up alot, this guy took the time to put together a video regarding this planet, so what if he studers. I bet you have a command centre in your moms basement with four different computer monitors which you comment on peoples youtube videos and you probably have never been laid. Would you fucking say that to him if you saw him on the street?
Looking at your stupid video, I think you're in no position to flame on this guy's wonderful information. Listening to the tone of your voice, you could be maximum 12 years old. Looking at the content of your video, your IQ must be below 75. Looking at the way your bed is is lying on the ground with all the clothes on top of it, i'd say you have no sense of how to live a normal life. Ignore this guy
Lately i have been thinking of becoming an astroleger/astronomer because i want to be one of the people who help humanity find a new world after we fuck Earth.
As a matter of fact when I search HD85512b and try to click on any of the links about it all comes up in error, never seen that happen before...glad you have a video on it,however it may get pulled.

@daywrenn
Ignore this guy

a planet in the Goldilocks Zone?
wow..imagine it being just like us, but HEMP in any form legal. Hence the zone, Goldilocks.
I just hope the US doesnt land there..or it'd be another world down the toilet.
