  • She is crying! Duh! Smh yall gt no respect

  • shit, I don't know how to feel about this. Kesha has no right to cover this song but in all honesty if I didn't know this was her I'd probably love this cover

  • Her vibrato <3

  • In all honesty, fuck "Ke$ha." This cover, however, is a beautiful rendition.

  • Is she cryin?

  • This is such a terrible cover of a good song

  • so many people say she can't sing without music. LIES !

  • i wish she would put this talent to good use through good songs like this instead of singing about being white girl wasted all the time.

  • This is what all her animals would do. If She Passed :/ i know it wont happen for a WHIILLEEE but really i would be more and more miserable everyday... i would talk like how shes weeping... :c

  • holy shit i didn't realize she could sing! i was expecting to hate it and write a comment about how she sucks but damn.

  • If she would make more music like this, she would gain more respect from me and I would actually buy her CD. This music really suits her voice. I loved it. I don't understand all these dislikes on this.

  • Kay-dollar sign-ha! You actually done good on this track. Thank you for not using the auto tuner.

  • @TheSuperBlackMan well for one thing, she was crying and secondly she got in hollywood because she has talent. she's a good singer and an amazing songwriter

  • i love that she changed the last sentence to "you just wasted my precious LIFE"

  • What happened to her? After her last single, she was just kinda forgotten. Girl I miss you!!!

  • I never thought i'd really like any of her songs. This isn't only really emotional, the sounds in the background are really experimental too, kesha alternative?...??? gj

  • @mrderekevan you do know that she actually recorded this song as practice on her garageband, and when the producers of the amnesty international album heard it, they didn't want to re-record it, because they became in love with this version? let's see if you can do anythign better than this

  • @BabsMetroStation Well actually, I personally feel that EVERYTHING I've recorded is better than this! Not to sound like I have a big ego, but I'm just being honest. Visit my official website sometime or check out one my singles on Itunes and you will hear how Derek Evan does it! I don't see what anyone could like about this recording, and I think people only like it because it's Ke$ha. If it was by an unknown artist people wouldn't like it and would say it's trash. Just trying to be realistic.

  • @mrderekevan no one would say this is trash. more than likely, people would say it's trash just because it's ke$ha. go pimp out your recordings somewhere else.

  • @mrderekevan I heard the recording on your youtube channel. Your pitch is all over the place and honestly you sound terrible. It would be more realistic if you stopped calling yourself a recording artiste since your record label is called Derek Evan Entertainment LLC.

  • kesha should sing more song like this.when shes not all auto-tuned shes really amassing

  • I was getting ready to rage at this, but... it's pretty nice. She kind of mangles it but it's chilling and original I suppose? I know that she probably has a lot more talent than the industry lets her exhibit. For example, youtube, "Kesha - Goodbye". It's really sweet.

  • It's a real nice tribute. Ke$ha actually does have a genius IQ though, it's no surprise this is actually good.

  • This is an amazing song choice to express true feelings. Guess you never know until it's too late. 143

  • What's with all the dislikes???

  • This is the kind of music Ke$ha belongs in!

  • @DefenestratePink But not the kind that sells, sadly.

  • Usually I do not comment on stuff like this but I have just had it with all you paper gangsters or should I say net gangsters stop bullying she is human just like the rest of us she was asked to do a Bob Dylan song just like the other 79 or so artists that will be covering his songs for the anniversary album they are doing for a good cause take a good look at the list of artist before you comment this is an honest and beautiful cover and non of you are Bob Dylan himself so stop the hate

  • Kesha is actually a really smart and decently talented woman. The issue is, she forgoes her talent and uses herself as a marketing tool. I'm sure if she wanted she could put together a really nice album.

But I guess music is a career to her instead of art. That's fine, I guess.

  • Happy Birthday, Kesha. You inspire me. <3

  • Yall need to stfu yes i realize kesha doesnt usually sings songs like this but you do notice ITS NOT HER SONG she does showcase her talent in "the harold song" so listen to that before judging her okay? She does have talent & yes i know that no cover is better then the original but shes not trying to be better then bob dylan so stop getting so offended & just cause its keshha doesnt mean it sucks shes not allowed to sing songs like this & last this is a live concert not " garage" band music

  • Beauty has knocked me out loaded!!!!~E

  • wow.. i seen this and thought " well all be god damn .. they gone and fucked up a song by bob dylan" but after listening to it .. its amazing .. the emotion in her voice and i like how they slowed it down. Bravo Ke$ha you did it right ..

  • Wow. The emotion in her voice is incredible

  • That's really you singing. Wow you sound so different

  • I prefer the party girl

  • didn't honestly expect this.. not bad.

  • somebody replied to a comment I made about not liking this and said " oh but it's only her with a grage band". First off, how do you know I don't like garage bands?Secon;if its a raw "garage band" recording how come its the same as the one use on the amnesty international? I appreciate the fact that she can really sing (which is sad that that's debatable about anybody tha'ts famous for singing) and I like how her voice sounds but I just don't think its true to the melody and I don't like it.

  • @sandwichgirlJ Garage Band is a music program, if you're wondering.

  • @markroar um ok I honestly have no idea what you're talking about. Doesn't change the fact that this is not an enjoyable version of this song

  • @sandwichgirlJ Garageband is a program for your computer... And since you seem a little slow let me spell this out. The Amnesty International record used the copy from her computer. They didn't record it again. It sounds the same because it is the same... This version is incredible and raw. The emotion was real and it wasn't performed for anyone. Yep. I just dropped some knowledge on your ignorant ass!!

  • @faithfully337 I Know i'ts the same...thats why I said "how come its the same" and not "why does it sound the same". I know that this version is raw...that was precisely my point. The quality of the recording has nothing to do with how she sings the song. I'm not debating the emotional tone of her voice or her cabability as a singer and I can appreciate the lack of effects. I just just don't like her take on this song.

  • @faithfully337 People are amazed by this because its not pop and its not autotuned but that doesn't make it good. It shouldn't be debatable that somebody who is famous for being a vocalist can sing. A lot of people can sing. If she wasn't good than she shoudn't have gotten famous in the first place. I'd hate to have such a shallow appreciation for music as most of todays youth does...like you...what are you 12?

  • @sandwichgirlJ 12? No, I am in my 20s and I know good music when I hear it. Unlike some, I am mature enough to acknowledge that there are good attributes in all types of music. It doesn't have to be thirty years old to be good. Don't get me wrong some of the best stuff is from our past but that music is what has shaped the music of today...

  • @faithfully337 You make a lot of assumptions. I like Ke$ha. I don't like this version of this song. My music library is eclectic as fuck. This recording is some mono-tone boring ass shit and you're a pretentious bitch.

  • @sandwichgirlJ Funny, coming from someone who does the same thing... But I guess we always hate in others what we see in ourselves! :)

  • A voz dela é perfeita *0* ninguem chega nem aos pés da Kesha. Ninguém.

  • I like Kesha but this is too one dimensional. She is just sad and hopeless sounding and there is more to the song than that. Make it your own, yes, but the emotion has to be controlled and representative of the lyrics.

  • I admit, I strongly dislike Kesha, but this was a good cover. I was honestly surprised.

  • @Squadillah Agreed. She's not my favorite, but I dig this.

  • Pls stop putting a label on someone . its not because you don't like her or hate her that you can't take the time to actually listen to it . probally al those who said it was OOOOHH SO BAD didn't even listen because they saw "kesha" pls stop being pathetic because i don't like Lady gaga but i know that she can sing so i'm not hateing on her like oohh she sucks and every songs she sings sucks to .

  • < 3

  • I don't know what to believe any more...

  • She just fucking broke my heart with her voice...

  • but... I thought Kesha was awful... is anything I thought I knew true?

  • this is so beautiful, I understand every musician has critics, but I'm a metalhead, straight heavy metal...been listening to nothing but rock and metal since i was old enough to understand, but I love listening to Ke$ha. Seeing all the hate that everyone throws around in comments on her videos is upsetting...I think she is a good singer/performer. Any artist that can relate so much into a song as she is here, enough to cry while recording it, deserves some respect. This is a beautiful rendition!

  • @cotijamexico1 enjoying music doesn't make it right. If Ke$ha (good lord with the dollar sign) and you enjoy singing Dylan songs and it makes you feel good, well good for you. There's more to it than entertainment. Dylan's music was the articulation of his generation -- enjoyment is just part of it. I'm not saying she did it badly, on the contrary and technically, she covered Dylan quite well. But there's something not right.

Next thing we'll know Justin Bieber's doing Chuck Berry tribute.

  • @jeffregullano Ke$ha was actually more of a country singer but she got a record deal for pop music and you can't sing anything you want . i really respect ke$ha because she is really talented and people are not "allowed " to see it . but you can see some songs on youtube like a good example is goodbye go and check it out because its a really good song and shows her real talent :)

  • if you people say she has a horrible voice, u suck, ahaha im only 12 years old and i know this is real music, its not autotuned, she dedicated this to him, she enjoys bob dylan, oh my god, i LOVE bob dylan, but wen i sing his music i try to do his voice, his talented\ different voice, i can tell kesha enjoyed singing this, if u dont like it.....haha go listen to im sexy and i know it and party rocker and crap like that....but u will be missing out...on this amazing music...have a nice day:)

  • STRIP BACK ALL THE GLITTER AND OBNOXIOUSNESS, SING FOR REAL. THEN I WILL LOVE KESHA. NOT KE$HA, BUT KESHA.I HOPE SHE MAKES AN ALBUM WITH NO AUTOTUNED MADNESS.

  • At 1:19 - 1:23, I think it's out of tune. just saying. Patti Smith, or Regina Spektor could've done better. But hey, Bob Dylan song is a Bob Dylan song. It won't be greatly reduced just by someone singing it. Only Dylan can choose to ruin his own music (He has done that, intentionally or not, a number of times, but t'was still great. No one else would've had the right. He can say that it our faces.

  • @jeffregullano well i mean she did it in one time with her laptop. it's meant to be imperfect, i'm certain.

  • Hm, interesting interpretation. I always viewed this song as very witty, slightly bitter and unapologetic. A way of Dylan's way of saying (to Rotola) 'I don't need you, suit yourself for leaving' or something of that kind. But still, this sadness twist to it sounds very good. Never heard of Kesha before this, very impressive.

  • wow

  • is she crying? it makes a song soo beautiful when the artist cries, it shows that they really care about music, and the song really gets to them

  • It' really not awful. A bit uninspired, but still very nice work!

  • She really own this song. I like it.

  • I really don't like Ke$ha's other songs... and this obviously isn't hers, but she does a great job covering this.

  • Ke$ha should sing more song like this, her voice is amazing♥

  • <3

  • I really like how Kesha does this song. The thing with covers is to put your own stamp on it, and she certainly does. A good song is a good song no matter who's singing it. Sometimes you have to throw preconceived notions about an artist out the window and just let music stand on its own merits. It's a unique approach to this Dylan classic. And please remember how unique Dylan is as well!

  • Shit, I really like this version. Damn. ... Damn. Damn. Damn. Damn. Damn.

  • @BathedInMilk no shoot.....man! Damn Damn Damn is right. so much better than that glitter on the floor crap she usually belts out...

  • @BathedInMilk she has a HORRIBLE voice.

  • @liltoman07

In your opinion that is. The opinions of others are going to differ. Randomly expressing your disliking of her voice in response to a comment that didn't even adress this won't make your opinion any more valid.

  • this is actually unbelievably great. im shocked.

  • @covielloclown lol i had the same reaction

but bob dylan is still better.

  • @mypersonalnoms -you are so right. dylan is superlative to just about everyone. but this still gave me artistic whiplash, lol. never underestimate anyone i suppose must be the lesson!

  • What could you possibly find wrong with this version?

  • @mnichols2011 it's terrible. it sounds like a chain smoker having a breakdown after drinking bleach.

  • @eviltella Hee hee!

  • @eviltella you're right. Bob's voice is much nicer and pleasant sounding.

  • i was watching other videos because this is my favorite song... and they mentioned Ke$ha's version so i had to.... .there are some things in life you can't unhear... :(

  • this is our pearl harbor.

  • just amazing. and nice choice on the picture, i always click this video because the pic fits the song so well.

  • instead of replying to your ignorance, i just keep telling myself, I Think It's Beautiful, over and over and over again, and take pride in the fact that I almost constantly listen to this on repeat these days, No she took a different route from dylan, it was TRULY what someone goes thru when leaving a long-term meaningful relationship, it's not always about bitterness, there's the self doubt, and guilt, and sorrow of lost love, for me she hit the emotion right at a time i needed it the most

  • Amazing.

  • kesha did a great job on this,....(:

  • Her voice is awesome without auto-tune, it reminds me of some rockstars from the 70's and 80's

  • I don't like her music but deny her talent would be a hypocrisy . Nice version.

  • Ya def a bitter song not as dylan said its more of a pep talk you'd give yourself after a break up rather then a traditional sad kinda break up song....i love dylans bitterness (see just like a woman) Ke$ha has a better voice then i thought but I just don't really like this version maybe i'm just a slave to Bob's version but i love the guitar and harmonica that's missing from this...but good try Kesh :)

  • This is better than I expected considering who it is coming from. But I don't like it because I feel like she doesn't understand what the song is even about. I always thought this is not a song of sorrow but bitterness. Strange interpretation.

  • Man I love Ke$ha so much... almost as much as I love to $antorum... This video is great... I love the ambience at the start and finish.

  • I like this because she actually used her own voice and it wasn't that bad.

  • So i'll be honest. I clicked this video with the intention to judge Ke$ha for even trying to sing this song. My mind was in no way open, but upon hearing the song, my respect for Kesha as an artist has increased 100%. I have to be honest, she did a beautiful job.

  • Really not a bad cover at all

  • I'd love it ! great version ! xo kesha !

  • I wouldnt call this good singing but its better than anything else ive heard from her

  • overwrought - seems like she's trying too hard to inject emotion...too plodding for me. Sorry :-( great song though...I love it

  • I see this being played on some television drama at the end of a show...That's how I discovered Band of Horses...

  • @Hecklerkoch223 Fringe?

  • @atoundingasymmetry What a coincidence, you mentioning Fringe. I just started renting the show and watching..I'm on the second season now..I discovered Band of Horses while watching the show Criminal Minds..Fringe is def one of the best shows..

  • I don't care for Dylan, I don't care for Keisha, this just hits me though...

  • This came up on my pandora and I was amazed it was by Kesha. Wow. Beautiful.

  • Whoa! i had to read the name of the singer twice on my pandora...LOL i was like what? so this is kesha not ke$ha singing it... good job. :)

  • Look for her unreleased track "I'm the one." for more a more 'unplugged' side of K$.

  • Who Knew?

  • I must be honest, I'm not a standard fare hater of Ke$ha but I'm no lover either. But this song got me by the balls.

  • Comment removed

  • I found out about this on the Pandora app... I liked it so I looked it up. I'm glad ke$ha's singing career isn't just auto tunes and editing

  • u people r stupid her voice is beautiful and she is crying while she is singing this

  • not anywhere near as bad as I expected. She can actually sing. I wouldn't say it does the original justice, it's way too depressing and whiny compared to the original - clearly not what dylan intended, but it's nice to see that Ke$ha actually possesses some talent.

  • I love this

  • This is not the trainwreck I expected. There's something real there although I've always seen the song as more bitter than grieving. I think the challenge of listening to modern covers of songs is the change in singing trends. When this song was written, people sang straight - especially with folk songs. We prized a clear crisp voice and the holding of notes (think Joan Baez). Now vocal stylings are in and so a cover sounds more like this (or like Jessica Simpson's cover of These Boots...)

  • Any chance of ever doing something with this song...it is one of my favs ....i am a finger picking player, it spoke to me ok....ffs!

  • Was fully prepared to hate this but it is a really solid cover...wow

  • This is just beautiful. I LOVE this.

  • THIS IS AN ATROCITY

  • Wow , most of you people didn't know she could sing before , just listen to her song called "Goodbye" thats her. Kesha , not Ke$ha.

  • She sounds like Cat Power! I love her voice like this! (But I promise, I knew she was talented before).

  • I'm sad... Pandora doesn't have her version yet :(

  • @xmandyu It does (:

  • @xmandyu they do! :) I just heard it. Its how I found out about it.

  • @aahnaima thats how i heard about it too!

  • @xmandyu Yes it does, it is what brought me here :]

  • I love Kesha and people really really underestimate her and she can sing really well love her!!

  • I had no idea this gal could really sing. I love this version of the song -- it's so raw and emotional. Fabulous. I wish she'd do more stuff like this! I hate her other stuff.

  • wow shes crying..

  • Her voice in this song is so beautiful. why cant she make more like this?! could listen to this song for hours. so beautiful.

  • @goosecooksgeese Why? Because the music industry doesn't say so.

  • @Youdi15 nope. The other songs are by Ke$ha

  • Bob Dylan's Version: "F*** you b*tch,.. but Don't think twice, It's all alright." Ke$ha's version: "Don't think twice, it's all right, but obviously it's not because I'm crying" I like both versions, there both sung different, with different meanings, but with the same lyrics :)

  • This took me completely by surprise. Very powerful.

  • her voice sounds nice but its not very true to the melody. I don't like it.

  • @sandwichgirlJ Consider she was just sitting in her house with garage band, this is not professional at all. She was just playing around with it and magic happened. I understand why you may not like it, but at the same time...

  • is you like this listen to her song - the harold song, it's amazing

  • This is a masterpiece. Daddy is proud of $.

  • Stop thinking Ke$ha doesn't have good songs like this. She has over 150 songs.

  • @MajorKeshaFan and they are all crap!

  • @MajorKeshaFan All of them written by Bob Dylan ?

  • Well this changes my world view on everything

  • i the rawness of this song is amazing!

  • Just heartbreaking... I always felt Dylan sang it more like he was p*ssed off with the girl but this brings a whole new level of meaning to the song. Keep up the good work Ke$ha

  • I didn't expect to like this version, but actually I'm really impressed. You get a chance to listen to her pure talented voice and to me it's very soulful. I understand why some people won't like this, perhaps because of Ke$ha's past music attempts or because of the minimal instrumentation, but I really think people should give this a chance!

  • @fatemcafee1415 When Dylan was 18 he was asked why he chose to play folk he would always say that he didn't think of his music as folk. Whether he never could or whether he never wanted to classify his music I think that music is an interpretation rather than a fact. I think musicians in general have great respect for the fact that music is grey rather than black and white or concrete. I think Ke$ha shows that understanding with this recording. And for that I think Dylan is proud

  • People don't know Ke$ha.

They see her as being a drunk crazy slut ot something. I understand that because of her hit songs, but that's not all the songs she has! She has songs with meaning and messages. How about Lucky, Let Me Go, Invisable, Coming Unglued, Bad Dream, Good To Be Queen, Sunday morning ect. People don't know anything about Ke$ha and say its terrible that she sang this and got good reviews for it. People who don't know anything about her should shut their mouths.

  • deleting shit comments like a boss

learn how to write down a proper opinion

  • @xe3n Slap a Braveheart sicker on xe3n, shit just got real!

  • @matttom88 u ovi don't know Ke$ha she has a lot of songs like this. Try to actually look them up

  • All new respect for her. Please release more music like this. Not more of that shitty autotune bullshit

  • Ke$ha you truly are amazing!

  • Wow this song really shocked me, I had no idea of what she was capable of. If only all her stuff sounded like this, she could contribute so much to the music world.

  • @1fairportconvention

I think he covered it, but I'm pretty sure Bob Dylan wrote and sung this..

  • It's amazing how much emotion you can feel from this cover! Respect.

  • This is so raw and I had no idea she could sing like this. <3

  • "Raw" is one way to put it...

  • There must be a vocal fry plugin for Pro Tools.

  • I think I have some new found respect for Kesha. Both as a fellow Pole and as a fan of Bob Dylan. I just hope she stays along this pathway.

  • DO THIS MORE OFTEN PLZ. compared to evrything else. this is total gold.

  • Raw, Honest, Beautiful,,,,,,

  • I am a huge Dylan fan, Kesha not so much but I am a musician and I play a jazz version of this song. I focus on the musical concepts, she focused on the emotional idea. Fan or not, I give her props for bringing the rawness of heartbreak. Music is after all, art and she brought a very human aspect to an already amazing song.

  • I had no idea Ke$ha could actually sing. It's a little bit funny that it took her singing a Bob Dylan song to figure out that she actually can.

  • @Boschboy

Oh, there's actually a bunch of old, unreleased demos that show off a pretty good voice. But singing is just not the trademark she's known for ever since she made it big with Tik Tok.

If you're curious, you could look up "Ke$ha Goodbye" for example, or her live cover of the Stones' "Dead Flowers" with some friends.

  • @Abaddon133 thank you for pointing it out. "Sunday Morning" is also a song in which she sings in a very touching way. Kesha's not just a trashy radio artist, like many call her. She's a talented artist and people who judge her just don't know her enough.

  • @MrWarioJo

"people who judge her just don't know her enough."

Exactly. Glad to see people agree with me.

  • @Abaddon133 I'm sorry any one who sings Tik Tok deserves to be judged a little

  • id actually like her if she sang this way all the time.

  • The production concept is brilliant.

  • This seriously blew my mind. I can't stand a lot of her music... but this. Dayum. Amazing.
