  • ¡¡WOW!! Me encanta esta cancion

  • wonderful...I dream with this song...

  • fuck REM you guy's rock my world!

  • im from El Paso an fucen rem is the shit.

  • This one goes out to the ONE I luv...I AM. Nuff said.

  • These guys were great live, and that's not easy. A lot of great bands suck at doing it live. These guys nailed it! Well done!

  • Eureka, I found the best song to end my 2011!!!

...and to the one I left in UK, this song is for you honey!

wwwwwwwwwwoaaaaaaaah Happy New Year everyone!!! :))

  • Awesome!

  • REM's my favorite band of all time, and I'm sad that they broke up, but I'm also kind of happy, too. I think it was obvious, by the spiraling quality of their albums, that the band was no longer their crusade, but their occupation. They did record some great songs in the last ten years, but far fewer. It seemed like the three of them were no longer on the same page. I just hope that young people will get exposed, somehow, to what these guys accomplished at their creative peak.

  • wyf johny sins ?

  • This one goes ot to the mf that painted my forehead orange while i was taking a nap......it was supposed to be pink to match my earplugs !!!

  • ONE AND ONLEEEEEEEEEE REMMMM

  • This is my favourite song by REM and best version. They were true showmen who knew how to please their audience.

  • Athens GA...keep dreaming...Nice thing about Green Cards...Thank the UK!

  • Stereolab was the last one, and now REM is gone. What do I have left? Ween?

  • THANK YOU R.E.M.

  • Is the singer really sporting a red unibrow?

  • @forcelifeforce I think its body paint.

  • The music flowed because there was a certain feeling of safety and security in what we thought we knew. The young people today are not under as many illusions as we were and they feel no safety or security. They see that the human race is in dire straits and its hard to make music in a room that's on fire..

  • I was going to read the comments but they're too long, so I was like fuck it I'm going to post a comment about the other comments being to long

  • @hoboman00000009 Fukin good post dude ! Respect !

  • People, people such harsh talk, relax smoke a joint and peace out, I for one am lighting up right now and reading such angry words hurts me, such hate and global disdain from anonymous people. love and happiness is much nicer dont you think?

  • What's with the guy's face?

  • REM means SWEET in my language xD

  • How can anyone dislike such an epic song???

  • shivers at :46 "FIIIIRE!!"

  • (wispers) You wanna know a secret..

    REM IS FUCKING AWESOME

  • @varelatom its not a secret ;p

  • the name is R.E.M not .E.M :P

  • What's with the ginger monobrow lol

  • love this

  • Good song

  • i wasnt ,fucking,born when thes hapened,whyyyyyyyyyyyyy??

  • Everytime I hear this song I think of you, Jen. I never forgot you.

  • MultiRockah I am the lead singer of a band that is currently trying to get ourselves noticed, and I often worry about the same things. My band covers a lot of REM and rock bands, so maybe, just maybe, we can keep this music alive. Peace.

  • Hey, now that REM are no more.. Anyone stop think of this..? How many new bands are growing up to be heavy hitters with staying power like these guys? How many new GnR's or U2's or AC/DCs or T. Hips are you seeing? If they all go with none to replace them how NOW do the words LOSING MY RELIGION echo in your ears? What happens when ppl say remember concerts? like they say about 45's and cassettes now.. Are we losing all our HEROS? Does this worry anyone else besides me, or am I alone out there?

  • @MultiRockah - rock'n roll is all about ENERGY and CHANGE, not make-believe "heroes" and bands-turned-institutions. REM at least had the gracefulness to quit instead of limping into old age like the Rolling Stones and any other number of sixty-something dinosaurs whose best years are way way behind them. There plenty of awesome current and up-and-coming talent around---just turn off that lousy "classic rock" station and dig around, you'll find them.

  • @Edsta92 THe hero's I speak of aren't make believe. if you were old enough you might know what I'm talking about. As for the dinosaurs you speak of.. that's what rock n roll means you'd know that too if you grew up with it. Rock and Roll is about sticking to your guns, no matter what. Once a rocker, you die as a rocker. Which is why the Stones and the rest still do it. Which you'd also know if you were alive then to know what a real concert is. Check Queen at Wembley 86. Freddie even says so.

  • @Edsta92 I take exception to your "dinosaur" comment. By saying this all you really do is show how little you actually know about music.

I will name a few 'dinosaurs" for you: Judas Priest, Scorpions, Aerosmith. If you dont know these bands or their impact on music, then you shouldnt comment about musical history. ALL these bands are far from dinosaurs and yet have toured for almost 40 years.

What bands today will be around that long? They can barely make it 5 years before their fad is over.

  • @azrock4ever --- LOL I grew up listening to Priest, Scorpions, Aerosmith...about 5th grade through 12th grade, in fact. All those bands peaked a good 20 years ago, now they are just a bunch of old guys rehashing the same old tired songs or making recyled versions, doing one nostalgia tour after another just to pay for their retirement and geriatric medical care. Look, "rock'n roll" would NOT be "rock'n roll" if it's just the same old crap played and listened to, ad nauseum, forever and ever.

  • @Edsta92 Really? They "peaked"? They may have peaked for you but that only goes to show your complete lack of knowledge of just these bands. (let alone the rest) All the bands I mentioned have had new albums recently, as they have in the years since you gave up on them.

Just because you changed your musical tastes doesnt change the fact that your comments were completely out of touch, grandpa.

"LOL" all you want. You're the clown who doesnt know what he is talking about.

    Now, run along.

  • @azrock4ever --- ha ha ha, so name-calling is the best you can come up with, just because somebody disagrees with you? You are every bit as boring and unimaginative as your stick-in-the-mud musical tastes. ZZZZZZZZZZ.

  • @Edsta92 Your age says 41... you should be ashamed at your comments. Either that or you were too nerdy and an anti=social person in HS and no one liked you. So you're comparing the music from that time to your own failed adolescence.

Also, I dont listen to "classic rock" stations. I am a rocker forever and I roll with the times, but that doesnt change my stance on today vs yesterday, musically. Even my 17yo son prefers 80s/90s music He listens to new stuff, but he's a die hard hair metal fan!

  • @azrock4ever -- ha ha, you have to make this personal, don't you? That lack of imagination and originality in your thinking, or lack of thinking, perfectly fits with your lack of imagination and originality in musical taste. Too bad for you.

  • @Edsta92 Wow, that comment was hard to read. You mentioned 12th grade... is that as far as you got with your education?

You just dont know what you're talking about. Its more about accuracy then anything personal, little one.

BTW, referring to Hope, you "would happily drink her bathwater" ?? Really? Now I know who I am dealing with. A moron.

    ::click::

  • @azrock4ever --- PS. Regarding "Hope"---the name of the Brazilian supermodel in the video is Giselle Bundchen...you really don't know who she is??? You really must live under a rock...or in a nursing home, more likely. (eye roll)

  • @MultiRockah I am with you bro. I dont know what era you grew up in but I graduated in '83 and was part of the best era in music, the 80s and 90s. (I dont mean the weird synth music)

I miss the arena shows with 8-10 bands and 100.000 people.

The guitar solo is dead. Power chords, hooks, and band members throwing their guitars around like their actually doing something (they're not!) have taken over the true guitar virtuosos from the 80s. Even the bad bands still had phenomenal guitar players.

  • @MultiRockah don't forget pink floyd

  • @MultiRockah Alone, sorry.

  • @lironsify Considering I apparently unbeknownst to me (until you opened your yap) attained 16 likes on this onelink and on the losing my religion song link I also posted the same message to I attained about 83.. I'd say you have no idea what you're talking about musically, and the education of communication was wasted upon you.

  • @MultiRockah Hi there,

    1. One shouldn't take what people are writing on the internet too seriously, I wasn't trashing (too hard).

    2. You got 100 likes, which is commendable, on a 5mil viewing clip, which is negligible - hence: you are alone in that sentiment.

    3. And this is going to be long, we're not losing our heroes, we're being replaced by younger listeners, you can't sprout 30yo rock bands out of the blue. Also, the people who enjoy LMR echoes are PROBABLY (citation needed) in the...

  • @lironsify ... narrow age group of 40-30, they were teenagers and influential during early '90s. As you may imagine, 14yo today think that that Bieber is the best thing in the world, I disagree, as I'm sure you do too - but we're in the wrong age. My parent thought the same way about the Beatles, my grandparents loved (not worshiped though, they had different lives than we do) some Arab-French guy from Algeria (I think).

My point being, THAT'S LIFE, TAKE IT AS IT COMES.

    GTG back 2 work, JOY!

  • @lironsify 1) If followed your own words, you wouldn't have bothered reply, I point you back to my first statement. 2) Getting anyone to like a comment without asking for it in it, is pretty difficult.. your millions of views also negates the fact that millions of those view were prior my post - hence I am far from alone. 3) You're too young obviously to even know what my very original stement means.. a concert and heros doesn't hold the meaning it does with people who really understand..

  • @MultiRockah we still have the CURE!!!!!!!!

  • @MultiRockah Have to disagree a bit, my friend. Independent music is taking some hits because, with the internet, if one wants to make enough money to stay afloat they need to play it 'safe'. However it's hardly the end. : ] Wherever there is a need, there will be a fill. Things go up and down. Just wait for another up, or if you're particularly musically talented, work for it yourself. Support the arts around you.

Barring apocalypse, there will always be concerts.

  • @UncleApothecary Fair enough disagreement bud, but I will still counter that as that the music industry has changed sinced these heavy hitter hit the scenes, the staying power of any band now adays is much less than it may have been back in the day. As for if I'm particularily musically talented work for it myself? Well I can't say much toward the fore part of that statement, but as for the latter.. I already have 4 of my own music videos posted on you tube. Thus I am.. I am working for it :)

  • @MultiRockah Good show, and I encourage you to keep it up. But don't you worry. Things will always be all up and changing, but we're not going to forget what was about. And that means that eventually we'll make something even better of it. Two steps forward, one step back. It's the law.

  • @MultiRockah dont worry my generation is on the way

  • @MultiRockah I was trying to think of a good response to refute this, but you're right. Rock bands just don't really sell that many records anymore. The only "heavy-hitters" are safe pop acts that have and always will make money for the record companies...it's just too big of a risk to support an artist that has limited appeal. There's still GREAT music coming out but it's not going 5x platinum. I'm all right with being a musical elitist and making fun of people that only listen to pop.

  • @MultiRockah I think you're scared for no reason. The music industry is growing like it never has, despite companies claiming "sales are down"... check out how many sales the iTunes store has per year, for example. And check how much time bands are spending on tour. Concerts will never be a thing of the past... it's the best way to interact with a band, and it's their best way to express their passion.

  • @NIGGUHNIGGUH123 I never used the word scared. Worried yes.. not for myself you may have misunderstood.. I grew up with musical heros that were performing. I nevert said concerts would end either.. I did imply the concerts I knew growing up, aren't the ones you see now. I think you may yet be too young to understand the implications I meant. Not that anything (like maybe your moniker) would suggest that of course

  • @MultiRockah I think you should stop judging me without knowing me. A youtube name is just a stupid account name which I am tired of signing up for.. I think you're just hoping for a rekindled past, but today´s concerts are incredible, at least in Buenos Aires, Argentina where I live. Here, every concert is a special occasion to see a band that we haven't seen in years, and the same for them to see us. It is magical, and I know it occurs in other places where people feel music like we do.

  • @NIGGUHNIGGUH123 Judging without knowing? Only 2 judgements. 1) Was too young to understand because: You've failed in your assessments to note how music has changed. Making points of sales going up & touring durations, having nothing to do with my point. I firmly implied the quality if declining, which is common knowledge for those old enough to know, hence the thumbs up on my original post I imagine. 2) Your moniker, by you using a term, suggests it's fair for anyone to. A great example indeed

  • @MultiRockah SHUT THE FUCK UP

  • @hdtrhrh or you'll what.. ? throw some more upper case at me? do your worst ;D

  • @MultiRockah Well GNR only had one solid record, but i agree with you. The Steely Dans, Eagles, Fleetwood Macs, Genesis, CCR's, ELO's, Tom Petty's, Elvis Costellos and such are no more! But there is Ryan Adams! Check him out..

  • @MultiRockah imagine when all our icons die....how lonely will we feel then?

  • @MultiRockah What about Foo Fighters, Muse, Coldplay, Metallica, Radiohead, Arcade Fire and the Black Keys? I don't even like half of those bands but they're the kind of 'stadium rockers' GnR, U2 and AC/DC were. Concerts aren't dying, you're just being melodramatic...

  • @Astronomy25Domine No.. I'm being educated.. You're obviously too young to understand what I'm talking about. Also I never said concerts would die, I said they aren't going to be like they have been to us who know what real ones are/were. Go watch Queen, Live at Wembley '86 and tell me how many of your bands could pull that off. To your credit, Metallica might be able to, but I would have included them in my list if the box was bigger.

  • In 2011 REM Announced that they will be retiring. And thus music as we know it has lost another great band. We Will MIss YOu!

  • thank you REM.

  • The one I love! Rem . You!

  • I saw only two concerts of them. I will regret that!

  • Thankyou for everything,You'll always be in my heart,in my mind...You're part of my life... Well i suppose all good things have an end..
