There are 8 in vs mode, and 4 in story mode.

And if you know the right codes for a cheat disc, pretty much everything else is playable. (Troops, bosses, enemies, etc...)

Unfortunately, there will be no more MK games.

Ed Boon (creator of Mortal Kombat) stated during the making of Mortal Kombat Armageddon (the most recent version of Mortal Kombat) that this will be the last Mortal Kombat game. That is also why every character has been added as playable in MK Armageddon.

Unfortunately, you're wrong. He stated that this is the last MK featuring these characters and the curren MK saga. There will be a "Mortal Kombat 8" which will start a new chapter in the Mortal Kombat story. Most characters will not return with the exception staple characters like Scorpion and Sub-Zero. But rest assured......The Kombat Kontinues....(Always wanted to say that)
