    thank you so much.

  • do u do this for stuff like krebs cycle, oxidative phosphorylation, or glycolysis!?!?

  • @bboydjoe Sorry - not my area of expertise, but use a little imagination and maybe you can come up with your own.

  • you genius! who would have thought i would be learning about hypo the llamas for my year 12 exam! thank you so much! :)

  • here's an idea for hypothalamus. hypothermia... cold...temperature... temperature regulation.

  • @xBitterSweet14 That's a good one. I like it.

  • that's a neat way to teach things. wish i had you in college :)

  • Awesome video. Very informative and fun. Thanks!!!Post more of these types.

  • you are mad, but I like it lol. gave me a laugh and I actually did benefit from it (get that) thumbs up!

  • Oh thank God, I have a General Psychology exam in less than 12 hours and I'm studying as hard as I can but the brain has me stuck! I'm really only needing the components of the brain but I'm sure we have to learn what each does anyway, so I thank you! I usually can come up with things on my own but not when I'm pressed for time.

  • honestly, when i clicked on this i thought it was going to be stupid and weird. but after having watched it, it's been so much help to me. thank you so muchh

  • @rrfitch I hear that quite a few times in the comments here on YouTube: people thought this would be stupid, but it turns out to be useful. That's mnemonics for you: weird, but useful.

  • @rrfitch

I thought the same when i clicked this, and it turnes out i was right. But it works GREAT; I knew more of the brain after seeing this 2 times then after learning for 2 hours. I passed my tests of biological psychology thanks to this guy :D

  • thank you!!

  • i learned for hippocampus that "If there was a hippo running around campus, you'd remember it"

  • thank you so much for your videos!!! they are helping me so much!!

by the way... I like the hippo!!

  • This is amazing. I actually am so glad I found this. Psych midterm won't be terrible after all. Thank you so much for taking the time to make this! :)

  • i only see tex in textbooks :(

  • 8 am phys test on the brain tomorrrrrow! Thanks that was great help :D

  • you rock brother, keep up the great videos! this will do me wonders for my anatomy final.

  • Not sure if this has been said by anybody else, but for "hippo compass" (lol!), the compass always "remembers" where North is.

  • Very Helpful! Thank you so much, I will definitely remember the physiology easier now!

  • That was awesome and so helpful!! mnemonics rock and so does this guy!!!

  • this is the most amazing video everrrr...so helpful, thnk you so much

  • this was so helpful for us visual learners out there :] This is so fun/silly and clever :] good work, I appreciate it!

  • what a badass dude.

  • This is great! Do you do any of these videos for the nervous system?

  • @ebymukht I've been thinking of doing mnemonics for the cranial nerves of the face - seems like nursing students especially are looking for that. Is that what you were thinking of?

  • @rodolfo1114 yes exactlly! You just don't know how helpful these videos are. I am so grateful that you take this time to do so much for others. Thank you!

  • @rodolfo1114 i KNOW ONE

    TWO- TEMPORAL

    ZEBRAS - ZYGOMATIC

    BIT - BUCCAL

    MY - MANDIBULAR

    CROTCH- CERVICAL

  • @pandabear82 Hehe as much as comparing things to the crotch,,, cervical is also a name for the neck...

  • @uRsXe97 Lol I knew that but I just thought that was an easy way to remember that

  • @rodolfo1114

hippocampus, campus=compass, when you get lost you use a compass , therefore hippocampus is associated with memory

you dont need the goddam hippo we are not CHILDREN, and the lama thing was dumb, should have used homeostasis to explain what the hypothalamus does.

please try to not make this like CHILDREN TELEVISION

  • You really have no idea how much this has helped me for my Biological Psychology exam in 3 weeks time. Thank you so much! I wish you was a teacher at my Uni :')

  • Glad to hear it! Thanks for all the positive comments. Check out the free psychology podcast

  • @dannnxo me too!!!! this rocks!!!!

  • whoever didnt like it.....your crazy

  • You should totally teach our class.

  • oh my gosh you are awesome!

Thank you for helping me remember the brain

  • awesome video.

  • yes, that is a rather large hypo, isn't it?

good thing it's filled with water to squirt at the worn out llamas.

  • This vid is helping me soo much. lol && I remember hippocampus as "YOU WOULD *REMEMBER* IF YOU SAW A HIPPO ON CAMPUS :)

lol BEAST! && yeah the llama one was sketchy lol better off just remembering it w.o the use od a mnemonic

  • Using this for my AP exam tomorrow, hopefully it helps.

  • This is so awesome and is helping me study for my AP psych exam.

  • this is worse than the pinky and brain one, using a texas hat does not help, I would prefer to remember it directly

  • Love it!! Thanks so much..you are a genius!

  • can someone help me cause i cant find the right spelling for the part of the brain it sounds like

dublo omblogata please tell me the right spelling cause i know there is atleast one smart kid

  • medulla oblongata

  • lol Thanks for the video.

    Funny and educational! Loved it.

  • LOL i was just thinking what someone who doesn't know the context of this video would think when he skips to 7:21 and sees him squirting two llamas on a plate with a balloon pump filled with water.

    creative! :)

  • i understand his intentions but i feel as tho the methods he's using to remember things is more abstract and confusing----there's better ways to do this....

  • this guy is awsome :)

  • haha thanks so much!!!! i was just staring at my notes for an hour and couldnt process it and these are EXACTLY the same parts of the brain i have to memorize for my test tomorrow. thanks =D

  • hahahaha o dearr..

  • HYPO THE LAMAS HAHAHAHAAH

  • this is perfect. i forgot my psych book at school but i guess i was better off! thanks!

  • Hahaha I love you. I was fine with the anatomy of everything after seeing a sheep brain but had trouble with the functions and you helped a lot! I try to come up with these kinds of things on my own sometimes but I like seeing the physical objects along with the cute stories.

  • lol hypo the llamas!

    intriguing! thanks!

  • This is getting my mind kinda mixed up..The explanations are simple and easy to follow though. ^^ So I'll just write the info down. (since I don't have to know these things yet in like 4 years I've got no books...)

  • The mnomics are too far-fetched. Because of his 'ridicilous' imagination the info should stick tho...

  • This is great!! Do some more, i have an exam tomorrow and this is just what i needed.

  • lol, he just throws it!

  • Oh my... I am taking Summer II A&P and HELLO super fast course! I have two exams (lab n lecture) day after tomorrow. I feel so much more confident that I will do well! (so I hope!) THX!

  • thank you, my husband is a doctor, i will show him this, i'm a paramedic student.. this was very helpful! you rock.. love kitty

  • Thanks. I'd love to hear what your doctor/husband thinks of these mnemonics. If you get a chance please leave another comment. Michael

  • Your GREAT. :D

  • A texan hat on the brain, haha classic.

  • kinda a conterdiction isnt it? lol J/K!

  • lol! awesome. thank you so much for posting this clips. that´s exactly what I need now.

    thank you.

  • You are so adorable! This is laugh-out-loud funny and useful! I'm going to post your vid to my A&P class' group on Facebook! They'll love this! Thanks! [Our group name is: "Anatomy and Physiology I (aka hell)."]

  • So interesting!

  • mean!! something different.. unique... simple.. but gets through which is the end result!! you should do more!

  • You're absolutely brilliant!! I was really worrying about remembering the functions of the brain for my MBChB1 exam next week but I think with this I should remember!

  • Thanks so much for your thoughts. Good luck on that exam and I hope this has helped!

  • this is so good. i have an ap psych test today and i needed to go over all of this.

  • Wow, that's awesome! :D I might actually survive the AP bio exam tomorrow, though I might start laughing when I get to any questions about the hypothalamus. AMAZING mnemonics!

  • This is an excellent video. So glad I found this. Will help greatly for my exam tomorrow !

  • Thankyou! Helped very much :)

  • This is using the system of loci, correct? Or is that something else.

  • Actually this is the keyword system. The method of loci is when you try to attach a word to a location or even. Like the names of the roads on your way to work.

  • Thank you! :)

  • Thank you for this video. You have helped me so much with memorizing it in a way I could understand. Do you have any videos for memorizing action potential or even for memorizing the parts of a neuron? It would help so much!

  • O and a suggestion on cerebral cortex, one could also use tex as in taxs which are complicated and require higher up thinking to fill out

  • Yup - "tax" could work as well. Good suggestions.

  • Hahahaha I am a college student, and this made learning fun!

  • lmao, the llamas! awesome man. wish my professor used props X)

  • I love psychology. If you EVER have time just to chat about it, please message me. (I'm going to major in it. I'm currentlly a senior at a High School, taking a college freshmen psych. course) I'm interested in ALL parts and ANY veiw. Morelly the cognitive theory. Your video REALLY helped, thank you. Its something I'll remeber the rest of my life, I'm sure.

  • Your awesome dude. You need to come to OSU and teach, you make me want to learn!

  • All teachers should be like you! You saved my life =D!

  • You're very kind. Thank you - made my day!

  • u have more mnemonics for other parts of the body? like circulatory system etc??

  • Sorry - just for the brain right now. I'm working on more mnemonics, but on topics of interest to psychology majors - like learning, abnormal psych, scientific method, etc.

  • I'd suggest for anyone looking to use this to maybe also use something called loci - google it.

  • This is the most joyfully enthusiastic goodness I've seen in teaching in a while. Awesome.

  • i wish u were my dad!

    LOL

    nice teaching!

  • LOL i love it. kinda goofy but that's exactly how i teach myself! and it works because i'm a visual thinker.

i can't tell u how much i appreciate ur dedication to teaching. looks like it's helped a lot of us psyc students!

  • perfect for my final thanks so much

  • Thanks and good luck on your test. Check out my podcast when you get a chance.

    Michael

  • WOW This video was great!

I'm a university student and I've had a really hard time memorizing the brain and coming up with ways to make it easier has been difficult for me. Thanks a lot for taking the time to post such a helpful clip. There's no way I can forget them now haha.

Pretty tacky, but that makes it so much easier to remember

  • AHHH! Hypo the llamas!! That was my favorite part. This is the best time I've had studying biopsych ever.

  • Oh my god. This looks like it's really cheesy in the beginning, but it's actually hilarious and UNBELIEVABLY helpful! Thank you so much for posting this!!

This was so much fun to watch, I had a smile on my face the whole time. And it'll help me on my upcoming behavioral neuroscience quiz, too.

  • Very clever, this is helpful for studying, thanks!
