Well, for one non radicals look at those verses for what they are relevant only in a proper historical context. i.e. Muhammad's spreading of islam to the pagan arabs of his time. This is why they dont follow that behaviour, because it's irrelavent in this day and age. It has nothing to do with anything. Basicly it's a historical reference.
