The guy you play as in this game is the same person you play as in bioshock 2 and 1. They could not make the game in rapture again because in the end of bioshock 2 you and Elizabeth blow it up, thats why this game is in a different area

I think that what really got people to like Bioshock so much was the whole Big Daddy and sister theme, and everyone is really not that happy that it is being taken away.

What i think the developers should have done is keep the Bioshock name for those kind of story, and have named this something different hence its a completely new story!

If it were a different name, it wouldn't have that much complaining. It is just using the name for sale value and similar character gameplay.

So I think the Entire Bioshock Universe takes place technically in an alternate dimension... Would kind of have to technically to have a 1900's floating steampunk city, and 1950's/60's Underwater Metropolis with super power in each.....

What gets me is the progression of the time periods Bioshock is based on. 1 and 2 were set around the 1920's or so, and the Infinite seems more around the 40's.
