@FrozenKoolAidDude I have no idea on prices. But federally as long as it was put on the nfa registry before 1986 it is legal to own. State laws vary. Some allow all nfa items, some allow none, some allow some. Also states without preemption might have county or city ordnances regarding ownership or firearms or nfa items.
@FrozenKoolAidDude Only need to be able to legally own it. Which basically if you can legally own guns period and your state isn't communist then no there is no license required. But you must register it with the atf, have it transfered through a proper dealer and receive a tax stamp for it. Tax stamp requires a one time $200 fee. Pretty expensive chalk shooter though.
@bsdmon Did my previous comment come up multiple times? Because Youtube and it's corporate Nazis kept saying 'Error, please try again'. And do you know if a Mare's Leg counts as a short barreled rifle, or an extra long pistol. 'Cuz I'm looking to get one, but $500 plus the $200 fee seems a little steep...
@FrozenKoolAidDude I had never heard of a mares leg. But from googling these are considered lever action pistols so they do not require a tax stamp. Unless you were to put a normal shoulder stock on it. I guess they're built with one that is not meant to be shot off the shoulder, even though it looks similar to a traditional stock. Odd.
@TheBradbury5 It would only go boom if it was a real anti-personel round. The ones portrayed in movies and that are usually used in combat are HE or high explosive. So they go boom just like a grenade. This is a practice round which is just packed with chalk in the nose. This makes it so agencies/mil can train without using very expensive HE rounds. But you will be able to see where your round landed. The chalk also spreads out to be more indicative of the area a real round would do damage to.
How is the recoil on grenade launchers. I forget where I heard this, but I recall hearing that it had quite a bit of recoil. Doesn't look like that here.
@TylerWinslow72493 It looks like it pushed him a good bit actually. I've never shot one so I couldn't say. But I imagine the practice rounds are close but maybe a tad tamer than a real HE round. But you can find lots of guys using m203's which also use a 40mm round and it doesn't look that bad.
@TheGrandrobotmaster Have enough cash to afford a registered one you must send $200 for a tax stamp and some paperwork to atf. Then you must pay for the transfer through a dealer with an sot. This will cost usually under $200. Not for sure what the m79 would cost as I don't see any for sale right now.
It is a chalk round, also called a practice round. They use them in the military even. They throw up a large cloud of orange smoke when they hit. This teaches you to aim it properly. Most civilians tend to shoot chalk rounds as they are cheaper and more available.
@DrkxNinja Yes you stupid ass liberal, it is a great thing to introduce children to the act of expressing their constitutional rights. Training your kids in gun safety and marksmanship reduce the chances of accidents.
@geowar42 Would you tell me what is wrong with taking kids shooting? If kids know guns but their parents never educated them they will probably try to find the gun and play with it. You sir are a douche and you should take your kid shooting before he kills himself, a friend or even you.
dude thats not a m-79

@bsdmon So it's just the same process as getting an automatic, short barreled rifle and/or shotgun basically? Right?

@FrozenKoolAidDude Yes. To the best of my knowledge.

There are no plastic firearms to my knowledge...the lighest material I can think of for a gun would be fiber glass

@Metalage I have the Airsoft version, and it's still really fun to use. And extremely close in realism to the Real Steel version.
