I've been trying to work out whether or not I liked 'Synecdoche, New York' since I saw it yesterday. Then I felt the urge to hear this song again, and listening to it almost made me cry. I think that pretty much answered my question. :-)
I don't, unfortunately. I downloaded it from iTunes, and it's credited to Jon Brion, but he's the composer. Not sure who the actual vocalist is, sorry!!
Thanks to the movie I now have an unexplainable, extremely strong emotional connection with this song. Thank you, Chuck, for making this beautiful, beautiful film.
I assume you haven't allowed your ears to hear this song (other than on this video), well, I'll give two tips to obtain this great song the fastest way possible. First, downgrade to the oldest version of your P2P music-management software (aka Limewire).
Second, you can "Google" (don't wanna write search engine) this magnificent piece of software called Free Studio by DVDvideosoft. Once you get it up and running, you'll see why it's great.
i love the ending of this video with the shot that pans from one end of the street to the other. it fit so simply with the message the song is conveying.
i recall hearing this song in a video OTHER than the Synecdoche trailer....i do believe it was used in a comedy video. im thinking something from the colbert report...or was it Conan? perhaps SNL?
all i know is that this song was used in something else other than Charlie Kaufman's new movie. anyone else know what i'm talkin about?
Song written by Charlie Kaufman and Brion (not sure of last name). It plays during the closing credits of Charlie Kaufman's 2008 film SYNECDOCHE, starring Seymour Hoffman, a film that asks the toughest questions of life without pretending to answer them.
I love this song. Where can I download it?
