  • niiiice. how were you able to handle the deformation on the wing? Did you just bind the wing with the arm skeleton and is the wing a separate mesh?

  • @hayabusathemanslayer No deformers or anything, just a simple smooth bind and appropriate weight painting. You can see how this ends up looking a little strange in the membrane behind the 'elbow' - it pushes out a little, not how it would in real life. Yes, the bat is all one combined mesh, although the wing membrane does not physically attach to the fingers. I generally rig & animate for games, and test my rigs in the Unity engine. Single mesh and exclusive bone deformation works best for this.

  • @shotgunfox30 thanks for the quick reply. i'm still learning how to rig so seeing these videos is very inspiring. Also, it seemed believable. And if you add a control that can give the wing an overlapping action this would be sooo AWESOME
