@Triumply Good! if you want to run another check to be sure... Go try Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. It sometimes finds stuff that an antivirus won't find.

Thank you for the great info, just a couple of q's: Should we add the avg toolbar or uncheck it like u said to do w/the Yahoo toolbar. What do you mean when you say you are very "careful" with your computer so you don't have to worry about stuff happening. How are you careful? Do you have other stuff in addition to the AVG?? @Virtuenow I don't use the AVG toolbar but you can if you want. It helps detect bad sites.

By careful I mean I don't go to sites unless I know what is on them and what I am going to. The only other thing i have besides AVG is malwarebytes anitmalware which I run once a week.

u may possibly have a virus that is blocking AVG. Try to run it in safe mode... if that doesnt work change the name of the install file...add a 1 before the .exe or something then try to run it.

you must have installed the full version.. when your protection runs out just hit uninstall... it will then ask if you want to revert to the free version and then you can just do that.

Hey, I'm sure a virus attacked my computer out of nowhere today, I dont know how i get it. Then it froze my screen completely and turned off the comp and restarted it, but it took about 20 mins to fully load my compter. This doesnt usually cos it takes about 2 mins to load before i got attacked. Now my computer freezes at times like right now when I'm typing this. I have Norton Internet Security, but i dont think that helps. So I'm asking will this take out the virus? Please let me know ASAP .

this should take care of it. If it doesnt download malwarebytes antimalware and run that. run both AVG and mwarebytes in safe mode... thats the best way to remove viruses. lemme know if it works

It should update automatically after you install it. You can choose how often you wanna update. But with virus software you ALWAYS want the latest version.
