That's the way it was said back then when someone said they hated someone, they hated their acts. For God to literally hate someone is to be contrary to other Scriptures such as "love thy neighbor as thyself".

I am a menmber of First Baptist Church of Hammond Indiana and i am very proud to say that I am. It isn't because of Pastor Schapp but because of the word of God that is being preached at this church. Now, I think that pastor Schapp is a great preacher. Many different preachers have their own preaching style. I feel what is most important is that the word of God is being preached to those who do not know the Lord yet. I feel as long as people are still getting saved that's all that should matter

As a Sword employee, I've been exposed to the nooks and crannies of Fundamentalism. I've spoken with Ouellette on this subject, and I've secured Jack Schaap's book For Christ's Sake. After carefully reviewing the book itself, I have to agree with Ouellette. It does indeed contain doctrinal errors.

There are other examples such as him saying he believed Jesus was spanked by his parents and suggesting that Jesus flirted with girls and may have had a girlfriend. First, Oullette never mentions Schaap's name. Second, whether you agree with Oullette saying what he said from the pulpit or not the fact remains that he is right. Jack Schaap is preaching heresy and there's no doubt about that. I am a young preacher myself and people can take the Man of God to the extreme of making him like a dictator. Schaap has to answer to God of course but he is not above answering to the brethren either. Heresy is heresy and your opinion of Oullette won't change that.
Pastor Ouellette was my pastor back in the late 70s and early 80s and I know him as a man who is Godly and does not cause strife among the brethren. If he calls you on a problem he sees, you better listen.

Well, college presidents don't always do good about selecting what is preached in their pulpits. As a result, we tend to get preachers saying things we don't endorse. It's something all of us could work on.

I am a menmber of First Baptist Church of Hammond Indiana and i am very proud to say that I am. It isn't because of Pastor Schapp but because of the word of God that is being preached at this church. Now, I think that pastor Schapp is a great preacher. Many different preachers have their own preaching style. I feel what is most important is that the word of God is being preached to those who do not know the Lord yet. I feel as long as people are still getting saved that's all that should matter

Is he really insulting Jack Schaap? That's really the issue. It's Ouellette's place as a pastor to decry doctrinal error. So what we both need to do, sir, is determine whether Schaap is doctrinally wrong. All I mean to say is that I have looked into it, and I believe he is. I still respect the guy as a pastor, but he gets no recommendation from me. Anyone going to HAC, I will inform them of this. It's not a slight against Schaap personally, or even his godliness. Schaap's heresies are not limited to one sermon. There are other examples such as him saying he believed Jesus was spanked by his parents and suggesting that Jesus flirted with girls and may have had a girlfriend. Those statements are completely unscriptural and heretical. You can defend him if you want to but you cannot defend those statements and you know it. If you truly believe those statements to be accurate then I feel sorry for you cause that seriously undermines the gospel.

Oh by the way he also says he doesn't think Jesus knew he was the Son of God as an infant which is just wrong as far as I'm concerned. Could you imagine Jesus at 6 years old all the sudden discovering that's he's the Son of God? I'm pretty confident God didn't forget who he was and is and the rediscover it later.

I have no doubt that Schaap believes that Jesus was and is sinless those are his suggestions and not him speaking about what someone else said and it's certainly not him joking. It's him stating his position and a very sketchy and undoctrinal position it is. If Jesus was either spanked or flirted with girls then you put a serious cloud over his sinless impeccable character. I will now bow out of this debate though cause it's pointless because neither one of us is going to change our opinion.

I find it interesting that you keep attacking me and thus doing the very thing you are accusing me of. I have not attacked you personally one time. You have no idea what I have been doing this week so it would be better if you didn't act like you do. Some would make the argument that Joel Osteen is doing alot of good things for the Lord so that argument is really pretty weak. It's all about God's Word and what it says. I'll take God's Word over that of Schaap everytime.

yeah i listened to thoes they are "clips" of his sermon which means the WHOLE sermon isnt on there so it was taken out of context just as i thought! like i said you can take anything out of context to make some one look bad.

First, Oullette never mentions Schaap's name. Second, whether you agree with Oullette saying what he said from the pulpit or not the fact remains that he is right. Jack Schaap is preaching heresy and there's no doubt about that. I am a young preacher myself and people can take the Man of God to the extreme of making him like a dictator. Schaap has to answer to God of course but he is not above answering to the brethren either. Heresy is heresy and your opinion of Oullette won't change that.

Pastor Ouellette was my pastor back in the late 70s and early 80s and I know him as a man who is Godly and does not cause strife among the brethren. If he calls you on a problem he sees, you better listen.
But in light of the reverental pedastal FBC thinks that Hyles or anything related to him is above reproach better read the scriptures and purge the sin from his own eye before he start plucking out the rod out of someone else's eye!

i go to Bro. Schaap's church in Hammond and Bro. Schaap is the best man i know. I will not criticize this man for saying what he has said because it is not my place and my pastor does not believe about criticizing anybody. All i have to say is Bro. Schaap is a great man and if you don't know him (personaly) then don't say anything bad about him.

But this guy is nothing more than a Glory stealing man that knows not how to give God Glory. He only seeks for the limelight by preaching against man, not principalities.
He needs to understand that Satan has gotten a hold of some people. Pray for them, don't rebuke them. That is not his position.

As well as 2 John 1:10-11 " If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds." That would be talking about false doctrine. And preaching that God hates the world and sinners, is FALSE doctine. I dont know about you, but i know, im just a sinner saved by grace.

Ive personally heard brother Oullette preache at my colleges, graduation fellowship. He is an awesome preacher and a man of God. As much as we want to think that everything is about the love of God, and how we should love others, we also need preachers who will tell us the truth. And the truth is, that what Schapp said, is doctirnaly incorrect. Proverbs 27:5 "Open rebuke is better than secret love.

Wow!!!! Well, college presidents don't always do good about selecting what is preached in their pulpits. As a result, we tend to get preachers saying things we don't endorse. It's something all of us could work on.
