  • jahaan was belly hai

  • this is SOOO magical mystery tour

  • I accidentally opened this song in two tabs and couldn't tell whether it was in fact playing twice over the top of itself or whether this was some cool bit of the song I had forgotten about... lol

  • 0:39 , I know that tune from the Beatles, but I can't really remember the song! Anyone help?

  • this song makes me want to punch someone

  • Ok people. First and foremost, the drumming is very similar to Ringo Starrs. The drums themselves are even tuned the same as his, and are very dampened, most likely with sish towels (like Ringo's). A lot of the randomness/instrumentation is very similar to the Beatles. I'd have to say it has a Sgt. Peppers feel to it...

  • REMINDS ME OF MONTREAL!

  • aciiiddddd.

  • reminds me of THE SHINS!!!!!

  • @3mexico your gay

  • @4NadiaSmit whatever you say asshole...

  • Of Montreal - The weirdest, Most different, modern band today, GREAT MUSIC- Totally under appreciated and they do sound similar to The Beatles in this song however

  • I absolutely adore the lyrics in this song, and this album in general.

"I have to go to the store to get some sleep, because I've run out of sleep." - Am I the only one who sees the inherent genius and hilarity in this line?

  • Penelope is MY NAME ♥

  • i love thisss

  • the first of montreal song I heard

    back in 2006 I think

    haven't looked back since

  • Dude me too! This is the very first song I heard from OM.

NTM, they are good live. I saw them a year ago or more. It was an electric show.

  • Cute

  • I remember a few years ago being stuck in an airport for hours and hours while the plane was delayed. This song, and "The Events Leading Up to the Collapse of Detective Dulllight" were the only things on my iPod that cheered me up that night.

  • Great song.

  • I've always thought of this as their "Glass Onion", with the self-referential namedrops for their previous album Gay Parade and to then-fellow-E6'ers Elf Power's "When the Red King Comes".

Anyhow, this is a perfect example of why the band's early stuff is vastly superiour to their current incarnation. Every new track was a guessing game wondering where the vocal line was going, and pleasant surprises lied around every bend.

  • If you can guess where the vocal lines are going in "Skeletal Lamping," I salute you.

I think the reason I like this so much is because the "verses" are so deliciously Sergeant Peppers-esque.

  • i am a gigantic fan of their early stuff, but lately, i have been loving their newer stuff. satanic panic in the attic is just as good as coquelicot in my opinion.

  • its funny.

    for a really original song

there are only two types of comments

"this is soOOO RaNDom! i love it"

    "they remind of the beatles"

  • 1:35-2:13 my favorite part

  • same here! i love that part.

  • this song is so amazing. it does kinda sound like the beatles!

the beatles are better in their own way. they were original.

  • this song is so ADD, i love it!! it makes me so happy... :-)

  • Aaah. Where can I get this albummm?

  • hah this song is so random but its sounds amazing

  • This sounds like multiple songs all in one, it's so random.

  • The Beatles are the Beatles and Of Montreal are Of Montreal. I think they sound like themselves.

    Which is goooood.

  • @Niloraccarolin I think you'd be a bit daft to not recognise the Beatles influence in this song.

  • this song really does sound like the beatles, and i've thought that ever since i heard it.

anyone who disagrees obviously hasn't heard enough of the beatles to really have a valid opinion.

  • I didn't know who made this wen I first heard it, and I never thought it was Of Montreal!

  • They sound so much like The Beatles!

    :D

  • no they dont.

  • I know what you mean, in this song they sort of do. But they are so different!

    And much more incredible.

    Although The Beatles are great.

  • lmfao. deaf

  • Whatever!

    Hahah.

I don't care, we can have different opinions...I happen to think of Montreal is better than everyone else, but whatever.

Plus, The Beatles were never my absolute favorite.

  • Indeed - and anyone who argues needs to listen to Sgt. Pepper's again. :)

  • life song.

  • Oh my God. Of Montreal is amazing.

    Kevin is a genius.

    This song is fantastic.

    Jeez.

  • genious.

  • damn...too bad you spelled genius wrong.

  • Simply incredible.

  • it does your not alone lol.

  • i love this song. okay am i going crazy or does it kinda sound like a beatles song

  • No, you're not crazy, I agree. Well, maybe you're crazy, I wouldn't know, I haven't met you, so I wouldn't rule it out.

  • gee, thanks XD

  • Not crazy at all. I had my iTunes on shuffle and this came on, and I though "oh, is this the one that comes after 'A Little Help From My Friends'?" for the first ten seconds or so.

This sounds a LOT like the Beatles.

  • I know... it sounds very sixties

  • awesome

  • live version of this song from the elephant 6 site is so so beautiful

  • yay i love of montreal.one of my faovrite bands.
