  • " A dance pavillion in the rain..."

Who can conjure up images like this any more?

  • Voice of an angel. With her music, the 50s sounds like a great time.

  • moon

  • angel...

  • Thanks for posting this. Its a fine example of ms Stafford's impeccably simple singing.

  • Can someone post a Jo Stafford's version of "Dancing in the Dark", please....

    Much appreciate it....

  • It's always sad to read of someones passing.

This recording is so wonderful. The best I've heard of her flawless breath control. Totally amazing, intimate, and a great recording.

  • Rest in peace, Jo...we all loved and cherished you.

  • I just heard Woody Herman's version a few days ago. I was surprised to find that it was recorded in 1949. Just a beautiful song.

  • Its by Woody Herman and Ralph Burns, Johny Mercer wrote the lyrics.

  • Thank you for YouTube's only studio vocal solo version of this superb ballad, A 1949 hit for Woody Herman. The 4 Freshmen very recently recorded it. In my mind, I hear this as a bossa tune.

  • This would make a fabulous bossa tune.
