  • The 2 Versions on iTunes/Amazon are COVERS & Sound AWFUL, Not being the Originals. Therefore they can keep the 79p!

  • Dude I love this theme song tune thingy!

  • Anybody know of an old Bill episode where Burnside nearly finds out about Don Beech?

  • @twoface0 the episode ur looking 4 is called fools gold from 1989

  • The 5 people who dislike this video should be arrested on suspicion of hating the bill

  • YIKES! that brings back so many old memories :D.

  • I cant believe ITV are scrapping The Bill!!!

  • Today is a sad day for television as its been announced that ITV are axing The Bill after 27 years.

  • This is one of many themes which is permenantly stuck in my childhood memeries of TV. This was the best music intro version of them all.

  • WELL SAID!

  • Cop drama music at its finest. Nuff said.

  • was this filmed on bow road or somewhere rlse

  • Part of Clarkson's charm is that he plays the dick...can't hate on him for that...just yell stuff at the screen occassionally and then move on. :)

  • Is that Bob Cryer and June Ackland in the car at the beginning?

  • Its actually a couple of extras in the car.I know this because my friend used to be in the bill as DC.Dashwood, played by Jon Isles. You can see him in the opening credits at 13 -14 seconds in the brown jacket.

  • i am pissed off that the bill is only on stv, i love the bill and watched it but now i cant because stv doesnt have it

  • The used to be about how the cops solved crimes, now I feel like I am watching the OC hahaha

  • I never realised that SUNHILL was filmed in some grotty industrial estate in Merton West London, because some years ago my phone ran out of battery so I used a payphone outside what I thought was just another Police station. And infact the phonebox was just a prop and some studio guy came over to me saying I was ruining the shoot!

  • you mean you were standing outside sn hill nick? can i ask you, how did you not notice?

  • Like I said before, I thought at first it was just another police station and the words SUNHILL plus the cameras and PC Reg Hollis with Sgt Bob Cryer never registered with me!

  • haha to be fair id probably do the same. but what an honour that must have been

  • You should be able to find it (SunHill set) on Google street view if that's your kind of bag. Cheers

  • Really? LOL

  • Ahh the Rover SD1. What happend to you Rover?

  • Too many unfair biased reviews on them because of the long gone Union Strikes in the 70's with British Leyland, too busy kicking Rovers history rather than the actual cars which were very good, I own a MG ZR and it's the best car I've ever owned.

  • I have a Rover 1.4 103hp brilliant car :P

  • They are excellent cars, which is why I want to find clarkson and throw a pie full of used rover oil in his face, he hated the old fashion look in side them yet embraced a Jaguar or a Rolls Royce, moaned about their electrics (a problem I still have to find) yet Ferraris terrible electrics are part of their charm, guys a fucking idiot, apart from that, I enjoy him on Top Gear.

  • for 25 years they've used the same sound of music jus modifyin them in the later seasons

  • this is so funny XDD

  • Looks kool man!

  • After the Rover, dodnt they have a Ford Sierra at the start

  • is that bob cryer in the police car... and the woman june..

  • This was my favourite of The Bill intros.

  • you're nicked son!

  • my god! that is bloody old! i remember watching as a kid! i still watch it now!

  • I think it started in 1983 never missed an episode,as im an avid fan, must admit i also liked Burnside,Carver and June, and the story lines were more believable,i make my daughter laugh, as i say that will be the jasmine Allen estate,i also am a fan of Spooks,Bones and Cold Case,i watch Spooks on BBC I player online, and if you go to ITV catch up,you can watch Taggart, and wire in the blood, and silent witness.

  • Never missed an episode.

  • how is that possible? you must have missed a few

  • you can get them on DVD.

  • At the start of the credits the police car is driving down Bow Road heading past Bow Chuch, towards Stratford way. You can just see the bridge in the distance that has 'FERODO' painted on it. I was actually going to school on the bus when they were filming the opening credits and had a great view from the top deck. Some people actually wanted to be in the credits too, but they we beaten back by security guard morons armed with sticks.

Just thought you'd like to know...

  • wow Is this in London? amazing progromme this is also Londons burning is great

  • Frick, I think I've been on that road a few times, wow, didn't know that! Thanks for sharing! :)

  • A guy I worked with told me that road is in Bow,in East London,he lived around that area

  • i was born in 1985. that's just old enough to remember when ITV didn't absolutely SUCK

  • lol

  • yer right bro, I was born in 1087 and remember when ITV was good. Even when ye watch shows that were broadcast pre 1999 they are better than the crap ITV produces now. It worse up here in Scotland cos we have shitty STV.

  • The scripts for the bill today would not get past the first desk 20-30 years ago. I saw recently an episode of the Professionals and I thought, oh my god, compared to today's TV it was highbrow stuff.

  • 20-30 years ago london was a different place. times move on, deal with it.

  • sr19, I commented on the quality of the script writing which has absolutely nothing to do with London being a different place 20-30 years ago.

  • its just an iconic british tv theme tune. superb!

  • the glory days of the bill. nowadays it has changed so often i have no idea when its on and for that matter have no inclination to watch it as it the newer stuff (like in so nmay shows) is inferior to a pliocean degree against the older shows.

  • i cant belive they got rid of june ackland the bastards!!!!!!!!

  • Bill's Golden age! Bring back Burnside and Tosh and Carver and Lines & Roach and even Reg!! Bloody good show at the time - when it was still 25 minutes in length. It had pace!

  • And there were other criminals in the world other than drug dealers, sex offenders and murderers!

Plus they didn't have 12 year olds and lap dancers working as police officers.

  • Yes I they were all very good I liked Ted Roach good copper

  • back in the days love it

  • luv the music lol

  • Does anyone have the Mp3. of this? Much appreciated.

  • no problem

  • no problem

  • Thanks =)))

  • Who was that copper that rushed out the car in the intro? The guy with the 'Tash. Was it DC Lines?

  • no it is was Det Sgt Ted Roach

  • IT WAS PC MELVIN CHASING SUSPECT

  • HAHAHA!!!

  • bring back burnside.

  • i agree with you mate. he was a great character.

  • NathanF11989 I CAN ANSWER THAT FOR YOU MATE. THE QUICK CLIPS OF THE VARIOUS CHARACTERS WERE TAKEN FROM ACTUAL EPISODES. ITS THE SAME WITH THE OTHER INTROS RIGHT UP TO 1997

  • Great intro for a great series. Many thanks for uploading.

I have one question though - are the quick clips of the various characters taken from actual episodes or were they film specially for the intro?

  • the police back then made you feel safe. thesedays they are to soft to target the worst crimes so they target us for dropping litter or swearing. why dont they sort the real problems out

  • Great times when the bill was about solving a crime in 30 minutes, not 30 days!! Wish these times hadn't changed.

Just found the music available on itunes for £0.79p if anybody is interested.

  • couldnt agree with you more matey... you take the words outta my mouth , thanks for itunes info!

  • My God, I've just realised that PC Haynes is Karim Said from Oz!!

  • Characters in this clip: PC Smith, PC Evans, DI Burnside, PC Hollis (don't know who's on comms), DC Dashwood, WPC Ackland (later Sgt), WPC Martella, DC Carver, (don't knpow who's chasing the suspect), DS Roach, Sgt Cryer.

  • Thats PC Haynes (Emmon Walker)on Comms I think, It could be PC melvin or Ramsey chasing the suspect.

  • at 00:11 and 00:12 i think the man standing up is reg

  • no way

  • yup thats yeg alright! - soon to be leeaving and the now longest serving charector.... i love the bill - junes gone jims gone ... and reg is going ... the programme is now behond hope lol - not as it was it fluctuates from good to ok thesedays

  • This tune is the BEST! Man, those were the days, it never occurred to me how much has changed. Thanx for uploading.

  • do u have the episode when they used this tune for the first time

  • the music is class i wish they kept this opening

  • fantastic i remember this opening

  • the best The Bill intro

  • fantastic!

  • someone remix this for the charts,

  • do you have the episode trojan hores ?

  • i have many many many episodes

  • the best bill intro ever lots of memories.

  • Best TV Intro ever! This is bringing back the memories indeed. The tune..........the lot!

  • choon

  • wow... blast form the past.

This is the Bill I knew!

Bring back the screaching tires and flashy lights!

  • Is there any chance of getting the 1988-89 closing credits?

  • Well said bodie! The bill used to be about coppers nickin criminals not a fagfest where the police are all drug addicts or gay or involved in incest. Nice to see a fellow professionals fan with the same view!

  • That's when The Bill was The Bill and was worth watching instead of a cop soap opera. Bring back Burnside to kick more slags in!

  • wou
