Great talk on amps and guitars. two and three on my list of favorite subjects. Tatoos are my number four favorite. Maybe you can talk about them sometime
My amp tech told me tubes don't warm up while on standby. Now I always leave my amp 40 minutes on before I start recording and I can see the difference.
it's funny how there used to be this hard preference for blackface over silverface Fenders. I think people have come to realize that they sound about the same. Obviously the blackfaces are still more collectible but the SF's are great tools for working musicians. They've got the tone.
Just wondering what your thoughts are on a gretsch 5120 with tv jones classic pickups in it??? Cant really afford a 6120 or a Brian Setzer model so i was thinking of doing that to the 5120..
Thank you for the kind words! Live, if Im using the 1970 Twin without a Master Volume knob, I do run a Fulltone 2 with just a small amount of gain on it. WIth the 1976 Twin, I crank my channel volume and adjust the overall level with the master volume. Some folks do the opposite (crank the master, level with the channel), really personal preference. Also, if Im running an Echoplex live for slapback, that adds a good 30% to the overall gain sound...
@Groove1993 Hey how are you! I think my 1970 was around $1000. I had to get the speakers redone, and the tubes as well, so around $1800 all together if I remember correctly.

Great sound! What are your settings on the liveamp? It has a nice breakup are there really no pedals involved?
