descent tip but you hardly get that far. i was fishing smallmouth below a dam with soft plastic tubes had a thirty incher INHALE it i set the hook and it snaped my 50pound braid like nothing. they like to inhale baits iv caugth dozens on northern with no leader but musky differnt story
@TheMinnesotaNice The advantage of not using a steel leader, is the fact that the muskie has less of a chance to see your line....when you use a leader, they may be "spooked". When the Muskie are really aggressive, the steel leader will not matter - they will hit.
@TheGenofan7 They are completely different species. They do however belong to the same family. Muskies grow much larger than the pickerel though. Thanks & good fishing!
very good tip but with swimbaits costing a fortune i dont think ill ever fish them with out a steel leader... lol explains how to fight muskie with out a steel leader and catches a muskie... lol
@RAWJUICE10 This video was filmed on Buckhorn Lake Ontario, in the Kawarthas. Buckhorn is connected to Pigeon lake & Chemung lake and makes for some great fishing!
Nice fish! I'm looking forward to spring so I can start fishing again! Hopefully this year I'll be fishing from a boat show I should have better luck!
i love your shows

@pikefisherman3 I was using straight monofilament and was actually fishing for walleye and ended up catching the muskie.
This happens quite commonly when you are fishing for weed walleye.
The bait of choice that day was a Berkley power leech, again, because I was actually targeting walleye.
Thanks for writing in & good fishing.

Seems unlikely. Not old enough or wise enough.

mcgaugh57 you must be a complete idiot if you think I was serious.
This man is obviously an avid fisherman and I was simply giving him a nice comment.
Maybe you are not used to someone being nice to you??? Oh yea thats why you hate on others.
So remember this, comments from fools like you make me laugh VERY HARD.
