  • I have loved this music since I went to High school in the 80's. I'm 46, white male, lives in Denmark, europe. I have a large LP-collection. African-American women are so beautiful. I have never understood racism in U.S.A. You should imagine, that black males had enough to do preventing white males from falling helplessly in love with all the black women.

  • Motown at 50! Regards to all who performed on the label! Seen many of you! Hope to see more next year! Motown rules!

  • You need to go to bed earlier. Based on your time zone, it was like 3 in the morning!

  • So what? :)

    Congrats, Motown!

  • I is a white honkey knob end from small town U K. But I bet my Mowtown collection is well better than yours. you wanksplat hillbilly fuc*shags!!!!!!!!!

  • best stuff is always the oldest stuff

  • The horns or whatever they are just before the 5 minute mark sound just like the ones on Baby Love

  • really, Motown was just the Funk Brothers with different vocalist.

  • Agreed-the funks were the Motown Sound. Can u imagine all those tracks without James Jamerson's bass? sorry, but it just wouldn't be the same!

  • You sound really pissed about something!

..I guess you must be one of the 'hoes', right?

  • @Nostradamis SPELL AND DEFINE: 'HOE' CORRECTLY...ALSO WHAT DOES THAT SAY ABOUT A MAN WHO ADMIRES THESE 'HOES;?

  • I'm trying to find the name of the song that goes "you got that (sweet way of talking?) I want to (spend the ngiht with you?) (Dance the night away?)" i think tis female vocals. its been stuck in the back of my head for 3 months please help

  • its actually a disco hit by leo sayer, but i dont know the name

  • If its the Leo Sayer hit, its "You make me feel like dancing". He sings it in a high falsetto voice, hence "female vocals". OMG! I am so embarrassed now, lol!

  • brill

  • I will never get sick of the Motown sound! I love it from the 60s and I love it now. The new artists have an amazing sound too. I was looking at all of them on the website, universal motown, and loved listening to everyone.

  • the best

  • the Motown Sound (search string)

    This is it!

  • MOTOWN - Joan Osborne with The Funk Brothers Band - (Search string). Joan does does a REAL good job. It´s perfect. So "Nakedbody" feel what´s it all about.

For the rest of us - let´s just enjoy. //Bests

  • Songs from the Motown era, could be identified by afew notes. The sound was great, unique lively..So many reconizable Artist. The Funk Brothers(for those who don't know were a group of Musicians, mostly Black Americans, with I think 2 Whites..),playing alot of the music for the Motown Artist. These Guys weren't really given their just dues until lately.Kind of late for such great Musicians.Today's sound for me just doesn't have the Heart and Soul and Substance of Previous Music. That's just my opinion.

  • Motown was a huge part of my Music love in the 60's.Just can't get into too much now.The sound just isn't there.

  • could you please expand on that? What do you mean the sound just isn't there, i'm interested.

  • The first song is 'reach out (i'll be there)' by the four tops.

  • i believe it's "The same old song"

  • No..it is "Reach Out"

  • Motown! I grew up with this stuff! I definitely like the new artists and genres out there, but I will always love my motown. Thanks for posting this, it's incredibly well done!

  • Motown is Motown is Motown. Nothing else follows.

  • Me thinks we need a soul revival

  • A '*MOTOWN*' REVIVAL!!!!!! he he! YEAH!!!!!!!!

  • Definantly Agreed!

  • wow. That was REALLY well done!

  • can sum 1 tell me the name of the first song cos my mum is looney about this song

  • D'ya mean Dancing in the street.Martha reeves and the vandellas,.

  • great medley, love it !

  • This is so musical and pure. The musicians were seasoned Jazz heads, the singers used their voices very musically and the writing, originality and soul has no comparison to any of the junk that's marketed today. These people didn't even grow up with television either. Just goes to show how much corporate America fucks everything up and we have to listen to what they think we should like.

  • You are rigth all the way in your comment zachnewyork...unfortunatly in this times the corporate media do whatever they want to do with the new generations...to me this singer is pure art...

  • @zachNewYork I totally agree! They didnt even have tv .. just a m a z ing . Wish I had music like this inmy generation

  • Loved it DVD! Being from Motown, me self, I sure enjoyed this...thank you.

  • Bravo! Well done, Finney. Enjoying every minute. Thanks so much.
