Yeah......give 'em BOTH middle fingers!! Ya know, you can find (on ebay) small vintage wood burning cook stove ovens, kind of looks like a Coleman camp oven, but the vintage ones don't fold up flat. You can bake on the flat surface of your fireplace/woodstove. Of course, you can also cook on it too!
Nice stove. What kind is it? We just had ours installed last year and absolutely love it. Have not kicked on the central heater once since we got it and warms way better than the central heat. Congrats on making one more leap to self-sufficiency.

@HillbillyPrepperGals It's a Regency. I was soooooo happy to turn the gas furnace down to 55-60 (just in case we aren't home for an extended time) and I came home this morning to a nice, toasty warm house!! It's only 28 here, so walking into a warm house was FANTASTIC!!!
Excellent work! Yeah, there is always that moment of "Gulp, what have I done?!", as the stove installation dude saws irreversibly through the roof. Glad its gonna work just fine. And very attractive to boot! Good on ya!
@AnnBearForFreedom Thanks AnnBear! Yeah...not only did I gulp, but when the rain started coming through the hole into my living room, my only thought was..."you guys had better not screw this up or there will be hell to pay - we just got over being flooded, I don't need it INSIDE my house too!"...LOL...It all worked out fine, and the heat is LOVELY!!!
love it, wish i had one, but in queensland it would not get used, in winter we dont even have the heaters on, it is not cold enough, but i would love a wood burning stove and SNOW!!
@sheryl2pnt0 I wish you did too! I wish we all had the ability to be more self-sufficient! I waited over 3 yrs to be able to get this one...soooo happy!
@SoCalPreppers Should do the trick quite nicely...it's rated for 1500-1800 sw ft, and we are just over 1500...and it has a blower so it circulates the air. I like my bedroom cooler, so not really worried about getting the back rooms as warm as the main living areas. It is centrally located in the middle of the house, so I think it will be more than enough!
Looks great! My husband said to tell you that you will be happy with that-it is more efficient that the other type you described wanting (always the efficeint one!). Now grab a cast iron pot and you can infact cook ontop of it (soups and stews do well). Yeah for self-sufficiency!!!
@MyDaddysgirl44 Exactly!! that is the main reason I got this one...I can still cook when the power is out with my gas range...but ya never know...if the SHTF, we may be out of gas too! We have a pretty much never ending supply of wood, so I can cook and heat water!
@hurdman007 HA!! That's the truth...been waiting a while to be able to decrease our gas and electric bill...gas heater, but the fan to run it is electric, so it should impact both bills!!
glad you got your stove it looks great and glad you didn't wash away in the rain. I was worried when your last video you posted was of your town being evacuated from the flood. So, as you say, "keep your powder dry."
@mammysinthekitchen That's for sure~we were pretty lucky...the "lake" in our field went away quickly, but if we had gotten any more heavy rain that week, we would have had a mess!!
@Teriann48 Hi Mom! Yeah, we are excited...we miss our wood heat that the other house had...only took us 3 years to get around to it! Spendy little bugger that's for sure! At least we will be able to use it until probably April this year...should cut the gas and electric bill by a bunch!
You go girl!We did that a couple of years ago, and let me tell you it is so nice to not have to pay MY cash out to them. Temporarily my son and his wife are living with us and he gets the wood to burn. it is so nice to cozy up next to that stove! Congrats girlfriend!
@quilterinthewoods62 Thanks! I am excited to fire it up...now if the county inspector would ever get out here...supposed to be here "sometime" tomorrow...you know how those agencies work - they can never give you a set time...sometime in the morning between 8:30 and noon...lovely...I work nights and sleep during the day :(
Very nice . I had that same stove when we lived in CT. it heated the whole house for us. Your going to love it put a little pot of water with potpourri on top and the house smells wonderful

Love it!! I remember when I installed mine.. Was such a great feeling, now the great feeling is that I haven't fired my furnace ONCE in 3 years!!

@adaminma That's what I'm looking forward to! Gas heat is so superficial...doesn't warm ya "to the bones" like wood heat does!
