Amazing, amazing speech. I actually have this question myself, and wow, I'm just speechless. You're completely right about music being done for fun, and I agree with you 100% on that. Thank you so much for posting this piece of gold on Youtube, if only more people gave good tips, the world in general would be better.
Can someone help me? Im a musician and have been for a while but I have always had a hard time keeping tempo is there something I can do to help this problem.
The best artists are true artists. Staying true to your art and most importantly, yourself. Always have a backup plan to carry you through, like Momo said.
this video inspired me. i taught myself how to play the piano...not sure why...but I need to finish college first. so this video was inspiring to me....so thank you.
I like your videos on bullying. You got to have drive when you play, and you got to love what you are doing. If you are thinking you are going to get rich then you are doing it for the wrong reasons. Van Gogh got his recognition after he died and so did many authors and artistis. It's a tough call, but so many people do things for the wrong reasons. You have to find your own way and practice, grow and don't be greedy.
MomoYour videos are a great revelation to me I can't believe i've not come across you before.
You remind me so much of my dad, he's your age and dresses very similar - it's uncanny.
Your videos give me what I can only explain as the 'opposite of a headache' a feeling I cannot describe other than those words, a tranquil, calming, boosting feeling.
I heard you say you dont read much but you must have read Eckhart Tolle: The Power Of Now? - your work is similar, yet practically greater.
Hey spillerjuice Thanks so much for the beautiful words, you just made my night...i will go read that book..please give my best to your dad,its nice to see you respect him for how he looks and is. I just finished answering a comment where this dude called me a wana be old fart and how he would like to smash me out haha .Thanks you rock.Momo
All too true, following this myself - Momo, how old were you when you got your 'break' in music? Anyway, keep it up - your words are a beacon for a lot of young people!
Good down to earth advice - and some can be carried to other creative careers to - I'm living proof! It might take a bit longer with a 'real job', but it lets you more time to hone your skills and keep things on your terms.
thanks for ur video momo. i got a question. u say dont take music to be ur full time job, make it second. i studying music currently in university. and i think that im good for nothing except playing music. and i know that being a musician is a though job. so, if i dont take music as a full time job, is thre anything i can do, can u give an example, like what most people do in a situation like me, i need a reference. thanks again for you're vids. want to hear u jamming. regards
Hi Sild123 your very welcomed.Well what atomicapeboy is saying (thanks) Holds true. The music biz holds many ways to make a living provided you diversify or you will be a slave to the changing industry. I personally enjoy writing commercials and adds as well as playing live but for something particular that im trying to express in a musical context and that way im at the mercy of no one.Ive got it to a point if a client pisses me off i give him his $ back and say have a nice day.Urock Momo
u sir, always give real fucking advice! I absolutly love that you didnt just say, follow your dreams and never sell out and blah blah blah. If someone had told my friends not to drop out and hone their skills slowly, i bet they would be somewhere by now...
Great video Momo :-) There are way too many bands and entrepreneurs out there that believe they have to jump into something full time without anything backing them up. I know I did the same thing when I brought my career onto the internet a year ago, but I knew I had the experience to pull it off. It was scary at first, but I opened myself up to becoming a student instead of just banking off of my experience, because things do change. Great video!
Oh yeah, part of that "showing up" Don't be a dick, nobody wants to play with an ass no matter how good a player. Be polite and respectful and people will help you. Good Luck...Bill B
Hey Kennosen1 thank you so much for the beautiful words...I am proud of you.....Such powerful words that could save the world..thank you and i am PROUD OF YOU...YOU ROCK
