  • I like his heavy breathing, it's like Chef and making love.

  • @bogeymansucksballs I was begininning to think I was the only one who noticed (and liked) his breathing.

  • Sad that this video isn't as popular as others.

  • Am I the only one who opens another tab so I can enjoy the music but not have to watch?

  • who would dislike this? its so beautifully played

  • I wonder how much his arms will ache in the morning

  • his fingers must be larger than normal because his placements are close. *_*

  • me gusta mucho como toca

  • me gusta mucho como toca

  • Maisky > Starker

  • Que bien suena su cello... Quisiera tener un mejor cello xD

  • @pudin008 Yo también, mi amigo, yo también

  • so fun to play, and so simple

  • I just don't like Maisky's way of playing

  • is delicious to me

  • How wonderful this tune is!

    Beautiful.

  • wow! hope I'll sound as good when i'm done practicin!

  • @muzicluvr91 you will never done practicin! :)

  • nrghhh. the camera goes on his right hand like exactly when i need to see the left.

  • I know at 1:38 or so! So annoying!

  • @dannyelectric that's because a true magician never reveals his secrets.

  • Aiiiii shit I have to play this for NYSSMA in an hour and a half and it's SO hard... Wish me luck folks

  • How did you do? Also if your worried about NYSSMA try ISSMA its the Indiana one! My judge told me he has high expectations when he has people play from my school all the judges do... IT SUCKS

  • I think I did ehhh okay-ish but the judge definitely seemed angry because my appointment was the last one of the day on Saturday (4 PM) I definitely screwed up the sight reading but my piece (movements 2 & 3) were pretty good

  • Dude tight job what did you get, participation, bronze, silver, or gold? I got particpation but then again he did he is banned from ever judge at any ssma contest again....

  • im learning this piece and listening to this helps out a TON! =)

  • Keep singing on your cello and I'll keep listening.

  • que sabroso toca!

  • Have you ever played a cello? A good cello has tons of sustain. The bow makes this instrument out sustain any guitar I have ever heard. Oh yeah, there's no o in genius. But, you probably knew that.

  • I meant that you have to have to keep the bow moving in order to keep the sound going, i know that a good cello has tons of sustain if you play pizz. and i do play cello. also i didnt mean to write genious i meant genio(spanish for genius) but anyway i didnt mean for anybody to take this too personally, i should have explained myself better.

  • Shut up and apprediate the music guys all the hours of work put into it this is amazing!

  • I don't think the slowing down works well for this song. He's obviously a good cellist but some times in the video, I just want to punch him in the face.

  • and why is that??

  • To me, the song sounds more lively and dance-like than many of the other movements. It disrupts the flow of the piece.

  • it seems like this would go beter with the first cello suite

  • The third suite is superior.

  • well maybe you're right... :) anyway i love the six cello suites!! :P

  • Who doesn't althought don't tell anyone I don't know anyone who can appreciate them like some people here on youtube. I never really appreciated them until I started learning them all. Think about the hours of work put into that piece. For bach to write it out and have someone play it then edit it and now he has to learn to play it and listen to how well he plays it too!

  • why exactly is that?

  • ¡Qué horror! Si no sabes lo que es un cello y/o quién es Bach estás perdido...

  • ¡TIENES RAZÓN!

  • Mischa is playing this movement (Allemande from suite 3) very carefully and deliberately. It works well at a faster tempo. I once used it for an audition with great success, at a much faster tempo.

  • Starker's is agonizingly slow.

  • wish I had the money to learn this instrament = /, its by far my favorite.

  • i play it. your right it is a really amazing instrument : )

  • you're right about the cost.. Here in Canada a mid-end cello costs some $3000...

  • well that depends on how you shop. Cello isn't terribly expensive, but it definately pricier than violin or viola. when i bought mine i was looking for a comfortable, and responsive instrument. I now have (for me at least) the best cello in the world. it had cracked down the front, and although it's now completely sound there is still a thin scar that runs under the bridge.

  • Ohh, you sound very brave, show us your work and then you talk.

  • oh SHUT UP already. so the guy who plays the improvised bach plays nice music it doesn't mean you have to advertise it in every comment

  • Amazing!!!! I 'm gonna play on the bass! I hope sound like you!! congratulation!

  • awesome! i play the cello and i have played this piece, but this guy is way better than I am obviously!

  • why do people think that the person in the vid is the poster?

  • oops D: sorry wrong reply... i feel like an idiot now

  • One of my favorite of Bach's 36 Movements from the six cello suites. I'm also very fond of Gigue from NO.2 and Prelude and Sarabande from No.6

  • hey cool the 2nd and the sixth are my favs. i like the prelude from the 2nd. i'm playing that now, along wit this. pretty good stuff.

  • The sixth is the most fun to play by far. It is the only suite that goes above the G4. When I first played the prelude I played for hours until it was memorized and then I played it for my teacher. Great Suite. If you are working This movement you should really look into Allegro Appassionato by Saint Saens great music right for your level!!

  • oh haha i tried to respond to your comment and instead i posted. i'm such a tard.

i like Allegro Appassionato, although its not one of my favorites its is indeed great music. right now i'm playing Kol Nidrei? I love that piece.

  • What a great song! Kol Nidrei and Allegro Apassionato are both at similar difficulties. Kol Nidrei is a little slower but requires big vibrato at the same time sensitive vibrato. Very emotional. Some of the rythms are difficult. A little bit of thumb position. Allegro Apassionato is very fast and very expressive difficult bowings and somewhat hard rythms.

  • amazing. so brilliant. and his hair is cool. :)

  • Bravo por Bach

  • Pretty good. =)

  • haha very nice. kudos to u mischa!
