By the way, this specific GenCoupe is running the V6, not the I4. Look at the intake manifold. When the car was first built, they couldn't get the Lambda running in time, so they stuck a TT VQ in there. It's now running the Lambda, as you can see.

@Symbrio do you even know how much a turbo setup for a vq35de costs? try nearly 10k.. how do i know. because i had the same motor in my old 350z and you're sittin here talkin bout a twin turbo setup? and no it won't put down any where near as much torque as a supercharged v8 titan motor yeah it may be a tad bit lighter but when it's a drift car it doesn't really matter as long as you got the power to back it up.. btw i just happen to be good friends with the driver and the guy who built the car.

@canthony1019 props for work, it does look fantastic, but, and there is BUT. Do you honestly believe its cheaper? Yes when you have your own Titan to transplant the motor. To buy used Titan with good motor + Supercharger + mods to the tranny (if not the complete new tranny is faaaaar more expensive than TT setup. Heck even a single GT35R will put over 600hp on 3.5 and you can get GT35 for 1200€ here in Germany. Brand NEW. Nice setup on a car, but I still believe TT would be cheaper option.

@Symbrio oh yeah it's cheaper. either 14,000 for a twin turbo setup (and thats a cheap one btw) or either a 600 dollar engine and tranny from a wrecked titan and another 800 on the supercharger.. everything else was paid for by sponsors i.e. tranny and motor mounts, pistons & rods.. those type things.. i have pictures of the complete build btw if ou want me to post those if i can find them that is.

@canthony1019 in that case, it is... you have to understand that in EU a used Titan goes for at least 20k €, and used G35s are at lest 5k more expensive than equivalent 350Zs (used are over 20k). Plus the suspension, engine, diff and other mods. So in efect you get a drifter for 45-50k. Most of our drifters use old E30/E36 BMWs or 200SXs. You can get them cheap (2k-4k tops) so another 1,5-2k for Turbokit, around 1k for suspension, and 1-1,5k for diff and extras.

If we go for engine transplant, we use either BMWs V8 units form older 7 series or M5s (those with more money) or I6 form older E36 BMW M3s, or Toyotas 1ZJ/Nissans RBDETT.

The Genesis did have a twin turbo VQ 35(Nissan) for development but by the time this video was shot it has the Hyundai 3.8 V6 as the base for what is now a 4.1 liter twin turbo putting out 600hp versus the stock genesis 3.8's 306- If you are a Nissan 350z fan you should know it was Rhys who was the lead stunt driver in Tokyo Drift the movie

The original test motor was a Nissan, it was used to test the drivetrain and suspension. They didn't have anything at the time with the hp & torque. It's similar to what Shelby motor cars did with the Aero - Chevy test power plant then built their own for production.The Genesis 3.8 500 hp motor was installed before this car was put on the circuit.
