  • The guy talking at the begining sounds like Gamedude.

  • *NOSTALGIA*

  • The clarity of the voice is amazing.

  • the music ist sooooo epic i am 14 and i love this game i will my snes back

  • this game should be remade for the ds or 3DS

  • COME ON NINTENDO, REMAKE SUPER METROID ALREADY!!!! YOU'D MAKE SO MUCH F***ING MONEY

  • I loled like shit when I heard that guy's voice, idk why.

  • The last Metroid is in captivity

    the galaxy is at peace

  • That resounding beat is vastly unsettling for me. And that voice.

    -shudder-

This music is reason to not play this game at night.

  • you know I never noticed kraid was on the box...

  • Best intro, even if the narrator sounds like a host of Queer Eye.

  • I shit myself when I heard the voice for the first time

  • This is what I think about when ever I hear the word "Captivity"

  • Explaining why i'm late for school...clicky text...flashbacks...

  • The last Metroid is in Captivity

    The Galaxy is at Peace

    Samus: Yeah, right.

  • Super Metroid <3

  • @TheDoopliss2 It brought me back to life. XD

  • I died listening to this song.

  • @RavensClaw13 Than how did you live to leave that comment?

  • Incredible piece of game music right here people. Metroid's 25th anniversary just came and went, and I created an original remix of this track. You can check it out on my channel if you want, it's called Metroid Legacy. Thanks!

  • @OmniPsyence Pretty awesome piece of work man, I just checked it out. It did have a Tron Legacy type feel to it, while having one of my favorite Metroid tracks of all time as the focus.

  • @NPRoland Thank you! I'm glad you mentioned Tron Legacy, I was definitely inspired by that soundtrack when I made my remix.

  • back in the day when geniuses were in charge of the music composing for games, this has to be the best of lot.

  • is it me or does it look like ridley has shorts on? XD

  • @orbitovermars I hate you.... now I can't UNSEE it LOL

  • @niespeludo lol

  • eventually other classic games wud follow suit, like the Resident Evil Series, Metal Gear etc, but Super Metroid on the Snes was The first game to do this, as in a video-game that creates a Cinematic feel, like a movie. This is y I feel this same idea should be returned, Nintendo need to work alongside Hollywood 2 turn this classic great game into a movie, because it wud pay a great homage to this classic game. Remembering the fact that this great game payed homage to a classic sci-fi movie.

  • Ive never actually experienced anything quite like Super Metroid when I first played it. I mean this is simply a 2D platform video-game, with a sci-fi theme. But it plays out just like a movie. Of-course the reason y it has this style is because it was purely based on a classic sci-fi film of the late 70s (Im not even gonna mention, cus we all know what film lol). Its soo cinematic even from these very opening scenes, the music and the feel.

  • @RaikenXion It was the only game in our childhood that really took us away from reality completely....

  • i like the way that in metroid 2 there are like only 60 metroids in existence on their homeworld but in metroid prime they're floating around everywhere hehe. but ffs, this and the ridley theme are incredibly awesome

  • "The last Metroid...is in captivity. The galaxy...is at peace." It sounds somewhat like a President's speech to calm down the crowd.

  • last metroid in captivity?

    ORLY!!!??

  • "The last Metroid is in captivity. The galaxy is at peace"

Always thought this was really amazing, having crystal-clear speech on SNES. "Genesis does what Nintendon't", eh? BS =P

  • @Gotmilk0112 I always thought that bit was really cheesy (having that voice at the beginning).

  • @Gotmilk0112

    Nintendo is what Genesisn't. ;)

  • where's the video for the other m version of this?

  • SM had the best music out of all the Metroid games. That creepy feeling in most of the music fit the mood perfectly.

But, the galaxy isn't at peace! Those damn pirates are always cooking something up.

  • I think I found my new ringtone

  • @Zuyuri same thing i was going to do, great minds think alike.

  • I first battled the Metroids on planet Zebes. It was there that I

foiled the plans of the Space Pirate leader, Mother Brain, to use the

    creatures to attack galactic civilization...

I next fought the Metroids on their homeworld, SR388. I completely

eradicated them, except for a larva which, after hatching, followed me

    like a confused child...

I personally delivered it to the galactic research station at Ceres so

scientists could study it's energy-producing qualities...

  • The scientists findings were astounding! They discovered that the

powers of the Metroid might be harnessed for the good of civilization!

Satisfied that all was well, I left the station to seek a new bounty

to hunt. But, I had hardly gone beyond the asteroid belt when I picked up

    a distress signal!

    Ceres station was under attack!!

  • GODLY GAME MUSIC.

best snes game ever (my opinion)

heck i still believe that this is the best game today

  • @Arcanedeus Best of the metroids for sure, not the best game ever though.God of war. 1-2 and 3.

  • @Arcanedeus same with me

  • Great post.
