Beast Rider is nothing like the originals, I dont mind riding on a beast, or even that main char is the woman, but they shud hav made the classic chars playable too instead of boring NPCs. Why couldn't they just make the game in the same style as the 2D one with limited continues and FM synthesis for the music and just enhance the graphics, is that to hard, Sega finally got it right with sonic generations though :)

@theaphextwinnn it's to do with the fact that there is very little evolution in the genre. God of War didn't really do anything new in terms of gameplay, that the original Golden Axe didn't already do. Certainly not every shooter is like CoD. Just look at how different Crysis is to it.
i found the combat system rather appealing you couldn't evade everything or block everything there was actually a stretagy and some form of required quick reactions from the player during the fights, the game may suck for most of you but i'm gonna have to take my hat off for the nice fighting system they implemented which ain't just a big combo fest DMC/GOW style where you pretty much learn the combos and the game becauses redicoulously easy... screw that i want good fights not easy fights.

Quick question, I got this game for free so I thought I'd play it, and I need to know, how in god's name do you get tribute? You get like 300 per level and it says I need 500,000 for the Battler's Blade >_<...I also just suck at this game so I can't get A+ ranks on the missions.

The game doesn't look terrible. I loved Golden Axe 1. Sure, this looks a tad repetitive and the camera kind of gives me a headache but is it really as atrocious as everyone makes it out to be?

@alanvamp Streets of Rage 2 is an amazingly fun beat em up....I was siked when I heard that it was available on XBox live, but that was quickly squashed when I realized I have no idea how to set XBox live up. I would love to have that game again.

Quick question, I got this game for free so I thought I'd play it, and I need to know, how in god's name do you get tribute? You get like 300 per level and it says I need 500,000 for the Battler's Blade >_<...I also just suck at this game so I can't get A+ ranks on the missions.

I prefer old 2D games.... They destroy the gameplay with their stupidity... Why couldn't they just make an awesome new 2D Golden Axe game? Gotta admit though, it's wonderful that the world hasn't forgotten about those awesome games..

@Wo1vo1n... I have nothing against 3D games actually, I love many 3D games :P... All I was trying to say is that most 2D games of the day were awesome, and most 3D games of this day suck... So whenever I hear 2D I guess awesome, and whenever I hear 3D I guess suck lolz... I am guessing that in the days of the 2D, they didn't have much graphical capabilities so they focused more on the gameplay that's all :P:P.. Sorry if I wasn't clear the first time :D... Peace

It's a pretty generic fighter, but it's hardly the worst game I've ever seen. Seen, mind you, control might suck heh.

This game was ok , it had it's moments - the beast fights were kinda fun.
I like hack n slash games + picked this up cheap - it's not a AAA title - but I enjoyed it!

The game doesn't look terrible. I loved Golden Axe 1. Sure, this looks a tad repetitive and the camera kind of gives me a headache but is it really as atrocious as everyone makes it out to be?

yes I played it and it deserve the bad reviews rent it and you will see the game is really bad, im a fan of goldenaxe 1 and 2 on genesis and the arcade titles, and this port is a definitive let down

the only thing that is good about this game is that Tyris is hot LOL, anyway sega should make a remake of golden axe 2 and 1 with hd sprites for download on psn and xbox live, even street of rage 1 and 2 would be cool.

@alanvamp Streets of Rage 2 is an amazingly fun beat em up....I was siked when I heard that it was available on XBox live, but that was quickly squashed when I realized I have no idea how to set XBox live up. I would love to have that game again.

sor 2 is for me the best beat em up ever created. I have it on wii 1 and 2 Im planing on buying the sega collections on ps3 it is said that it have some hd fixes to the games I wanna see how it looks lol.
