  • i watch the video my i/o siting only have1 and 2 mono and i done now how to get my mixer and mpc to work i have protools 8 and the 003 rack can you help thanks

  • I am having trouble with pro tools 9. I have a 003+ rack as well. Everything is connected and ready to go but I'm not getting playback and its not registering anything into pro tools. So frustrating. Can you help with setting up the interface to the computer to receive play back and so it registers instruments. Thanks

  • "LET'S PLUG THIS FIREWIRE CABLE INTO THE BACK OF PRO TOOLS" HA HA

  • I HAVE A ROLAND JUNO DI AND AKAI PROFESSIONAL XR 20. IM USING PROTOOLS LE 8 WITH AVID M BOX MINI. MY M BOX DOES NOT HAVE MIDI INPUTS SO I HAVE MIDI TO USB STRAIGHT TO MY MAC. THE PROBLEM IS, HOW CAN I USE THE INSTRUMENTS INSIDE MY PIANO AND AKAI. AND WHAT TRACKS DO I USE TO RECORD THEM?

  • Some things are not quite correct. AIFF and BWF(WAV) are very similar (PCM) and have both cd quality. Usually WAV is the right choice, because of the higher compatibility. The sample rate has indeed nothing to do with headroom, if anything that would be the bitrate. The sample rate is the resolution on the time axis. Usually for music and stuff 44.1k is the right choice, as Audio CDs and MP3s always have this rate (and 16bits). 48k is used by Video DVDs. You won't hear any difference anyway.

  • wow, 96 khz will not give you more head room!!!!

  • the same thing(18 cannels input) , its like my DIGI 001 with two more preams and sync, its up to 96khz but Im not a dog or a whale , worse if don't have real time latency monitoring...

  • can you load more videos as second part ? please i like the way you teach men :")

  • @acustichenry

Thanx, Part 2 is in the works should be up in the next month

  • @diddlybilt thank you man :")

  • @diddlybilt cool thamks!

  • @PsykopathicTV You need an interface that runs it. M-Audo products (i.e. fast track usb and etc.) run with Pro Tools.

  • how do i fix the input for vocals ?

  • @MilitiaMackMusic

What's wrong with the input? I need more info.

  • @diddlybilt i dunno man it keeps saying i need to assign them so that they will be the same

  • hey i just bought protools with the digi 003 rack but my laptop doesnt have a fire wire input! what do i do?!

  • @thelocust64

    You need a hub.

  • @thelocust64 You have to return it. No firewire ports, no firewire devices. A hub won't change this.

  • how much is the 003 rack ?

  • @elcapitan0426

    About $1200

  • How many speakers can you connect to the 003 rack?

  • @aLexsiito

    4

  • do you still need the mbox to run pro tools if you have the 003 rack?

  • @solz101

you do not need the mbox to run pro tools if you have the 003 rack.

  • @solz101 ok thanks

  • Dear diddlybilt: I am brand new to recording and Pro-Tools LE 8. Thank you so much for your video "Pro Tools 8 LE 003 rack for extreme beginners". I have an M-Box 2 but i still found your video very helpful. Really appreciate your help . Thank you. Tony

  • @tonystrings810

    Thanks I'm glad it helped.

  • i got a question, if you got the 003 factory would you still need the 003 rack?.. im planning to build a home studio and im looking to hook up some midi keyboards and mics and some monitors.. thanks.

  • @paulgut420

Hi Paul, you do not need the 003 rack if you have the 003 factory. The 003 factory is basically the same as the 003 rack except it is an automated mixing board instead of a rack. You can hook up midi keyboards, mics and monitors to the 003 factory.

  • Hello great video thank you

My question is , I have 003 factory , roland keyboard and Speakers , which cables should I use XLR, or 1/4 plugs which are same as you connected

    Thank you

  • Thanx.

Either one works fine but if you have XLR cables use them.

  • very helpful thank you. i just purchased pro tools and didn't know how to hook it up. now i am ready to go.
