i like this video one thang i have to say though at the part where the one kid was practicing knife defence. i am no expert but there was a lot of waisted nergy spent aswell as you never want to let go of an attackers hand when he has a knife in it the best thing would have been to disarm him then do what ever you want but never through all those attacks when he still has a knife in his hand
now ive been in martial for a long long time but ive never understood what the pole with the other poles int eh side of it is supposed to teach you? is close quarter blocking? or what
@thomas242007 Hi Tom, how you doing? The dummy arms are good way to condition your arms and work the hand flow most of everything I teach its all based on close quarter fighting. Cheers mate :)
@thomas242007 two things: it conditions your forearms, and it gets you used to striking aroud protrusions (i.e., your opponent's blocks and checks and punches)...
@HapkidoGuy1983 cool guess that would explain why bruce lees forearms were well conditioned thanks my style is tournament style shotokhan so we dont really use these
@thomas242007 it's a good training tool, even if you're in karate...beyond the conditioning, it really helps you get used to striking through someone's blocks and checks...
Thank you so much for all your kind words. I don't claim to be the top guy I can say truly I feel that I still have allot to do in my own personal training I'm always looking for ways to improve get faster and more explosive its an everyday learning process.
I haven't seen this kind of talent in JKD world in many many years. Please let me know if you ever do any seminars or DVD's in the future. Such an honour to watch your videos I learn so much.
Sifu Emil, in my mind is the best JKD instructor in the world today on same level as Bruce Lee. Just take a look at his students it say's it all. So dynamic and explosive truly impressive you don't see this in the martial arts today it's extremely rare. Good work guys 5 stars..... :)
an amazing video nice to see everyone going at it . You have an amazing school and excellent students. The school is lucky to have you Emil. 5 stars. Congrats to everyone on their examination
