Hey Neumann, I am currently using the T3i. The audio I've recorded, either using the internal mic or a shotgun mic, there is a very loud background noise the whole time. I'm not sure whether this is a common problem or what but will Magic Lantern solve the problem?

@swaggalikeriz it's a program on the Sd card - it boot's from the card,when the files are on it. If you delete the files - magic launtern will be deleted :)

hope you don't mind got tired hunting for this every time i had to reload it and i copoied this so i'll have it in one place on a back up drive, incase you haven't found it out yet after you've used this and written and rewritten to the card a number of times you need to wipe the card and reload it or the firmware starts getting moody and makes you camera start acting funny where it keeps shutting down or erroring out mine is partly due to the battery grip but also because of the firmware

I need help. First of all, i´m sorry for my very poor english.

I installed ML in my t2i, and I have done a test with my VideoMic rode pro with the AGC off and noticed that makes a noise early on in the recording.

I think that is the T2i to turn off the AGC and do not know if it's normal. Someone can help me?

When you start recording with the mic is from the early silent or make this little sound at the beginning?

@Mzahaka1313 I have the camera myself and it is AWESOME! Filming in low to medium light conditions i would recommend getting a f/1.8 or f/1.4 lens but in daylight indoors or outside it has OUTSTANDING performance! (ALL CAPS RAGE! :P)

hey. great video. i would love to put ML on my 550d and your guide is great but i think theres been updates and i think the files and places to download have changed and i wanted to make sure im installing the right files so im not one of the few that stuffs it up by not following the guide right. for example your "UPDATE: second link" with the zip doesnt have the "magic.cfg" in the zip file. so do i just go ahead like normal without that file and just go with "magiclantern.fir and autoexec.bin"

@trunitemare Yeah, just replace the files on the memory card with the files that come in the latest builds.

@Neumannfilms The newest build does not have the magic.cfg. Do I have to replace the autoexec and the magiclantern.fir files? And do I just add the .bmp files to the memory card? Depending on what you answer, will I have to hit update (firmware update) in the menu?

@trunitemare Yeah, leave the old .cfg in there. Replace the autoexec and .fir files. Add the .bmp folder. Don't need to refresh or anything, just put it back in the camera and you're updated.

I use EOS-Util on a PC connected via USB to video with my 550D. If I install Magic Lantern - can I still use the EOS-Util for filming purposes - i.e. focusing? I suppose I have to set the ML stuff via the 550D? Any comments/tips welcome.

@joejumps4fun I don't. I usually just go with QScale to -16 and then maybe White Balance and ISO. For the picture style I created a flat one that I use, so I don't touch those settings in Magic Lantern...usually. Depends on what I'm shooting.

I've been a ML user for about 2 or 3 months now and I love it. I can't really tell a diff. in quality among the various Q-scale settings so I'm not sure where the optimal quality-to-recording time set is at. I'd assume to use -14 for most stuff....

But just wondering something else--do you change your contrast at all in ML or do you leave it set to 0? I've been shooting with contrast all the way down in ML, on top of using the Philip Bloom custom neutral "flat" and Marvels Cine 3.3.
