  • WOW this looks good. i'd like to place a pre-order for $15 please.

  • I don't know what a preorder is, but no one will be able to play it until public betas are released (and at first, only for the demo). No public beta will be released any time soon though - I've got a long way to go before I'm done, a a whole year even. Once the full version is released, the price will be something from $24.95 to $40 for 95% certainty. $34.95 is where the peak is (most likely) though these may change.

  • I look forward to playing this game someday. Hurry! haha

  • This video brings back memories of "A Boy and his Blob", only it doesn't take place at night or in the sewers. Good job with the video BTW.

  • Your game looks beautiful and a ton of fun, I can't wait to try it out.

  • Amazing!

  • Man, this guy puts my own mental problems into perspective, thank FSM for the internet!

  • Uli, did you make the music that was playing in the background. If so, can I get a copy of the file so I can listen to it on repeat for days? If not, who made it?

  • someone will never get laid lol

  • Great job Uli! The backgrounds are fantastic, however the animations for the character could use some work for smoother transition between rolling/flying/walking/running.

Also, have you considered going into game design and working as a professional developer?

  • Updates to the character are needed as there are several omissions. It's just low on my priorities list right now.

  • Very impressive work!

  • Lake Keveran is a good candidate for including in the demo - beautiful and it has water. I'm working on Carnivalesta now - 7 of 10 layers of hills done and the 3 previously available barker and food stands have been redone (slightly, outside a few things).

  • Who dislike this game. I will smack Them

  • Azure Lake

  • Nice work, it looks great! Can't wait to see the upcoming changes to Carnivalesta.

  • I've got the closest of the barker and food stands done and also 4 of 10 layers of hills and mountains. There's still plenty to do before Carnivalesta's remake is finished, about a 30% chance for Friday. I need to get the ground decals system added as well - it's pretty much the same as the clouds, only using small parts. The fade from light to dark beyond the carnival grounds is one example of the use, along with an extra pavement section for an 8-story hotel.

  • So what kind of enemies will the game have?

  • See the PM Web site for details on this, the levels page covers it in section 3.5.

  • @MrRaui Smooth snakes.

  • Stunning progress!

  • i love ur voice.

  • I'm excited to see the forest at 6:05 be finished. Those trees look good, and they'll look even better when layered!

  • The trees are horrible - they have no texture at all. Trouble is, I don't have any base image for trees so it's quite difficult to get it. There will be nearly 40 total layers of trees though, once I get that far. I do have an idea on how to go about making trees: form the tree trunk, the branches, bounds of the leaves, then throw textures. I just don't have the motive right now (Carnivalesta is next, outside story stuff (of which can wait)).

  • no money in the world can pay you for all the devotion you put into this

  • Are you going to add in anything that adds replay value?

  • There are a lot of things you can do once the story is done. See the "story" section on the PM site for details. In short, there's treasure hunting (400 treasure chests are available), the jumbo and supersize levels, raising stats to the extreme (jump a mile high or run at supersonic speeds if you can), looking for differences in the scenery, trying difficulty 7 or 8, performing stunts, and a few others.

  • It's been really interesting to watch the development of this game... thanks for posting all of these videos, uli.

When do you think it'll be done?

  • Are the platforms going to look like that in the final version? just curious

  • The platforms, aside from deciding which slopes to use for sloped platforms, are otherwise final. Icons on the platforms may be added to tell the different types of platforms apart, such as a vanishing platform being different from a static platform (since they look the same at first glance, until you step on a vanishing platform where they disappear line by line).

  • cant wait to buy this game

  • great job with this uli

    looks fantastic
