I had to leave Binghamton because I had UFO Contact and everyone including my family called me nuts. I was very hurt by this and vowed to never return to Binghamton again. I am now doing artwork  for the History Channel's Ancient Aliens

@zerosister sounds like a good decision - good you had the courage to walk away from ridicule and opted to help build a creative, supportive network for other skywatchers. BTW - it's never too late to file a MUFON report.
