  • bloods are everywhere

  • che bona sta cinese!

  • the sound effects are so badass.

  • whats the song playing in 1:04

  • @15gianna Meiko Kaji - The Flower of Carnage

  • oh so this is where quentin tarantino got his ideas from. oh......

  • Heard that movie was a huge inspiration for Tarantino's Kill Bill, i can see why...

  • Does this motherfucker have subtitles/dubbing?

  • The manga series is still incrediblty gritty to this day.

  • This doesn't change my opinion of Kill Bill one bit...it's still an awesome movie! No one ever does anything original, especially Hollywood. Anyone who knows QT will know that this is what he does. He takes films from genres he loves (typically exploitation films) and takes bits and pieces from different movies and uses them to fuel his own plot. It's a collage but it's a piece of art in it's own right. This looks good, but I bet Kill Bill has all the best parts from it.

  • 0:39 .... is that Jakie Chan??!??! XD

wow... im suprised that i understood 0.01% of it..im getting better :p

  • @animefreakdes She said "face" once, and one other guy said "Wait!" Hooray for two years of studying Japanese!

  • Will watch this and part 2

  • Damn The RZA and Quentin Tarantino have good taste in martial arts films.WU-TANG!!!

  • @wisewarrior7

what does this movie have to do with the Wutang?

  • @koala8 Basically all their songs were inspired by the old martial arts films they watched as kids. They love shit like this

  • I love this movie *___* I've just seen the movie just for the first time and I find this awesome, just totally!

  • this trailer really has too many spoilers, basically you just saw every single death on the movie right here

  • I really wonder how many people actually read the manga before watching Toshiya Fujita's movies then watched the two kill bill volumes. If you did you wouldn't compare Lady Snowblood with Tarantino's Kill Bill, the variation of story is just to great. Not that one is better than the other... they are just two different styles although if given a choice between the two I would chose Toshiya Fujita any day the plot just seems more real than Kill Bill.

  • @DanteAtropos wait i thought that manga was the base for anime only..i never knew that they also made movies directly from the manga or do they? sorry im very confused :( may you please explain the manga part? :) sorry to be a bother

  • @animefreakdes okay let me explain first the manga of Shurayuki-hime( Lady snow blood) came out in 1972 and ran it's course up till 1973 this manga by Kazuo Koike and Kazuo Kamimura was what gave the idea for Fujita to make his films in 1973 and 1974. These films and manga is then adapted by Quentin Tarantino into the two volumes of kill bill. So if you like to read the manga then watch the films. The manga is much more mature than the later film adaptations parental guidance cautioned .

  • @DanteAtropos That's because you're obviously more of fan a Lady Snowblood than Tarantino. I personally believe Tarantino's a genius and love that he educates the ignorant general population on classics like this by paying homage to them in his films.

  • @DanteAtropos

All Kill Bill was was a regurgitated version of this. As much as Avatar was of Pocahantas.

  • @Guyverman01 avatar wasnt even close to pocahaontas as it was to that atlantis movie

  • @DanteAtropos Where do you think Tarantino drew his influence for the kill bill series from? It's not a coincidence that the woman out in the snow (from the last scene of the first film) even looks like the woman in this film

  • @thambidge ah I don't quite understand your comment, of course I know where Tarantino drew his influence for kill bill from, why else would I bring up the manga and Toshiya Fujita's films? Tarantino may have drew influence from Toshiya Fujita but it does not equate that the films are alike. The execution of plot and development of characters does that. And sadly I have to say the Bride of Tarantino pales to Fujita-sama's Shurayuki-hime. Just my opinion though.

  • Can't anyone ever talk about 'Lady Snowblood' without mentioning 'Kill Bill? They're two different movies.

  • lol what i wanna know is why this song is the "Explicit" version!

  • meh.

  • Meiko Kaji is badass I need to check out Lady Snowblood

  • Meiko Kaji is the ultimate badass

  • Amazing ... When I first saw Kill Bill I got so surprised to hear this song and Uramibushi. I realized that I heard these songs in my very childhood. I wasn't even a teenager yet ! :-O

  • what song is that at the end?

  • "Flower Of Carnage" written by Kazuo Koike, composed by Masaaki Hirao and sung by Kaji Meiko

  • Check this ... i just watched the full length movie here -> Full Movie World . com

  • what a fascinating bloody beauty femme fatale!!!!meiko kaji...what terrific woman!

the 2 snowblood are surely masterpieces;the second is very splatter but i prefer the first...the revenge is very tasty with a samurai's sword.

    bye from rome

  • he is ripping the movies off and presenting them to people who don't know any better as new. He referenced the fact that he was paying homage to them one time. He totally ripped this movie off in every aspect. The flashbacks etc. This movie is a fuggin masterpiece beautiful from the fliming to the robes. This movie had so many underlying themes political and non political.

  • I love this movie....Tarantino is bringing to us the muses of his youth...appreciate it. You would never have seen it otherwise.

  • Maybe YOU wouldnt have seen it otherwise, but for the rest of us that isnt the case.

  • Kill Bill is nothing like this. If you compare a revenge movie to another revenge movie, they're all alike. They have completely different styles (this is serious, kill bill is not at all)...besides, it's a lot more similar to Death Rides a Horse.

  • What do you mean? Some of the scenes are exactly the same. Even the same music.

  • very beautiful lady.

  • Kill Bill is a rip off.

  • this looks, no it is great especially since it has Meiko Kaji in it

  • Cześć, kolego :) Skoro jesteśmy Polakami, rozmawiajmy po polsku. Twierdzę, że Tarant, miał dwa dobre filmy(RD i PF). Reszta filmów jest marna i kiepska (takie moje zdanie, widziałem wiele filmów w życiu, dobrych i marnych a on po prostu kradnie). Pozdro

  • I wrote it in my first comment. Hast du ein Problem ? If you smart you can read sense of my comment. If you stupit...

  • andrzej pozdrowienia z Polski:)

I see all the mess that you made round there with your comments, but don't equal supporters of Tarantino with 'teenagers, who saw only MTV, American Pie, and KB(don't saw japanese movies). It's too exaggerated from your side...I can say that Fellini is a master, the same for Kubrick, Spielberg...ok, but I think Tarantino also! He's not original? His style, in which he makes epic histories coverd with hectolitres of blood and violence and great songs and climate...

  • that make him very original and unconventional director. His every film is another story, starting from epic PF, going towards KB or Basterds, ending with great 4 rooms and many many others - so many nice pieces can't be made by mistake.

So Andrzej - last question from you - why are you spitting on Tarantino and try to persuade all the people here that he is a thief instead of saying a simple sentence: "I, Andrzej560 don't like the Tarantino films, and that's all that I've got to say"

  • Yes. Saw You Empire of the Sun and Schindler List and few another movies ?

  • IMO RD and PF is good movies(not great, only good). DP and KB is boring, not good, and don't "have soul".

Tarant is thief. In his movies I saw another movies(is not inspiration, only coping).

Kubrick is master, Spielberg is Master, Fellini is Master but no QT. I loves cinema and I saw lots of movie and I think Tarant is not oryginal(but teenager, who saw only MTV, American Pie, and KB(don't saw japanese movies)is good ).I think Tarant is most overrated director on the world(and worst actor :) )

  • Spielberg a master???

  • @Andrzej560 umm okay? broken english

  • Tarantino knows he takes from other movies and he's actually very proud of it. He's just paying his respects for the movies he likes best. Do you honestly think if he was trying the steal from Lady Snowblood he'd put one of the theme songs in it? Both are good movies LS is better, but both are very good.

  • Sorry for my english ;)

    LSb is good film.

KB is not good movie. Tarant copy the LSb and sold by "Tarant Movie" (Thief!). Is movie for teenagers. "Wow! Blood and fu(k". Don't have "soul", is overrated movie (I heard in 2008 (before "Bastards" (copy of Dirty 12) premiere))

"Its good film because is Tarant film". Tarant is the most overrated director on the world.

I love cinema, and I saw much films in my live and I CAN say:

"KB is not good movie" Tarant is thief !

  • Hi, I can see where you're coming from with your comment but I think you misunderstand what Tarrantino's recent movies are about. QT loves cinema and Kill Bill, Death Proof, Inglorious Bastards are all examples of QT having fun with genres he grew up on and loves.

He has nothing to prove: Resevoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown: you wanna tell me QT isn't original?!

You might not like Kill Bill but don't confuse the issue: QT is paying his respects, not ripping anyone off!

  • @Tapiola2007 yeah its true he always gives major credit to his inspirations

  • @Tapiola2007 Fair enough hes original but you can not tell me he took HEAPS from lady snowblood and i honestly mean heaps im not being bihest trust me i know pulp fiction back to front inside fucking out and as much as i love him u cant deny he took heaps from snowblood not to mention what uma wears is same as what bruce lee wears in fist of fury and 3of the characters in kill bill arnt original, theres a thin line between paying homage and plagarism, hes paying homage but fuck me does he psh it

  • @shiozza We could argue about the thickness of the line between homage and plagarism but to what end? For me, I love what QT does. I was watching Basterds again the other night and I still get a thrill from the opening sequence that references at least the following Westerns: Shane, The Searchers, The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. There may be others. Not forgetting to mention the great OST mixing classical and spaghetti western themes (e.g. The Verdict)

  • @Tapiola2007 Yeah but im not talking about qt in general im talking about kill bill specificaly and how much he used, i mean yes qt still would oif made kill bill a hit even if he didnt use all that stuff from other movies but the fact still remains that he did use all that stuff and off the top of my head i could calculate about 20 things he used and i wuldhave proof that he used it and its not a coincidence he has the same stuff in his movie as does lady snowblood, fist of fury n hatori hanzo

  • @shiozza Mmm, but QT isn't hiding the fact that he's referencing this film (or many others). It's precisely the point that we can see bits of this film or that film. I suppose it comes down to whether you think it's valid to lean so heavily on other sources. I think it's great as he's original enough to make it all hang together as a distinct piece of work.

  • @Tapiola2007

Rofl. Reservoir Dogs is a pure rip off of 'City on Fire', Jackie Brown is simply awful movie. Pulp Fiction is great, Ill give him that.

Kill Bill 1 is nice, vol 2 is the most boring pile of crap Ive ever seen!

And dont give me the paying his respects crap. Hes got limitless budget, why doesnt he do something original?

He will never ever do a movie like pulp fiction, might a s well call it a fluke ;)

  • @Qlicky Well, that's an opinion...

  • @Tapiola2007

    indeed

  • @Qlicky

Jackie Brown is easily his best movie... PF is lightyears behind...

  • @fasima , Pulp Fiction is undoubtedly his best movie.

  • @fasima , Pulp Fiction is undoubtedly his best movie. Jakie Brown is not a bad movie, but does not even compare w PF.

  • @Qlicky booooo, your ignorance makes me sad.

  • @Tapiola2007 People think he was ripping it off? Hahaha Its so obvious be is paying his respects to it in the first KIll Bill xD

  • @Neroblade666 Yes, it's a laughable accusation. We all take inspiration from different sources. It's what we do with those influences that counts. QT has not only paid appropriate homage to the cinema he loves but introduced it to a whole new generation.

  • @Tapiola2007 Yeah thats to QT I got the chance to watch the masterpeice that is Lady snowblood :P

  • @Tapiola2007 the plot was almost entirely copied for Kill Bill so if that is not ripping off what is?

  • @MultiSultan20 There's a difference between paying homage and ripping off!

  • @Tapiola2007

Resevoir Dogs is hardly original. Check out a film called "City on Fire", starring Chow Yun Fat. Jackie Brown is adopted from a book. Pulp Fiction is probably his only real original film. His selection of obscure only proves to his audiences that they don't know of the source material. I used to think he was original, too, until I began watching a lot of Japanese cinema. His films are really nothing but fan service.

  • @Tapiola2007 That's understandable he is inspired by alot of Japanese media but where QT failed was casting David Carradine as Bill he provided good dialouge but the fight scene was insipid and was unsatisfiying. He could of picked another martial artist to make a worthy climatic fight scene no offense if you like Carradine but he's just a guy who got lucky by stealing Bruce Lee's idea

  • @mcgenieboy1286 I thought David Carradine added some gravitas to the role of Bill and was quietly menacing. He also carries all that baggage from Kung Fu, which I think was probably at the back of QT's mind when casting him. Personally, I thought Michael Madsen was excellent, especially in KB 2.

  • @Tapiola2007 Michael Madsen is fine he's more of a gangster but as Bill David Carradine could have done so much more to see him die from a death palm press was an unsatisfying finale they could of atleast filmed a fight scene then have him die by the palm press atleast the dialouge in the film was good. With regards to Kungfu even though it's a cult classic I was never a fan of it I much preffered lone wolf and cub.

  • @mcgenieboy1286 Yes, the end did at first seem a little limp but the thrust of it, in my opinion, was that Pai Mei taught B the palm press and not Bill and Bill died knowing it. I rather enjoyed Kung Fu particularly as I'm also a big fan of Westerns so it fit nicely into two genres I enjoy. I also love Lone Wolf and Cub. However, are you talking about the TV series or the films? Have you ever seen The Water Margin? One of my childhood favourites.

  • @Tapiola2007 Lone wolf I mean't as a franchise I like the films and the tv series it's a shame the proper ending from the manga was never filmed. I loved the water Margin it's a shame not many people know about it nowdays.

  • @mcgenieboy1286 Now that we're reminiscing. Did you ever see Monkey? Although it was comical, it was a great show!

  • @Tapiola2007 Hell yes Monkey magic grow stick grow :) are there any decent martial arts shows around these days?

  • @Tapiola2007 Actually all his earlier films are homages as well.

Resevoir Dogs was The Taking Of Pelham 123 and Kubrick's The Killing

Pulp Fiction was Bonnie's Kids and Kiss Me Deadly

Jackie Brown was Foxy Brown and lots of other Blacksploitation films.

  • Here is the big problem with your comment.

If hadn't seen 'Kill Bill' I would never have heard of 'Lady Snowblood'.

Because of the film you rate as a 1 - I discovered this film.

I think you are greatly under-estimating the KB films.

  • IS a good movie, with a high role for women in the 70's unusual.

  • It reminds me of Setsuka from Soul Calibur 3 and 4

  • I find it hard to like lead female protagonists in American films, but it's much easier for me to like them in Japanese films like this one, Azumi, Cutie Honey, and Tokyo Gore Police. :)

Hell they can even pull-off some great antagonists too (one word: Audition)!

  • A japanese remake will be great, the action scenes will be better

  • For good taste's sake do not compare Lady Snowblood with Tarantino fim Kill Bill, ok it was a nice movie but Snowblood is a masterpiece... Inspiration and copying is too different things...

  • @sybnios hey there is a video called Everything is a remix:KILL BILL. it shows you that QT was inspired by ALOT of samurai and spaghetti western films to make kill bill. its not just Lady snowblood he was inspired by

  • @sybnios Tarantino copied nothing, what he did in Kill Bill was a homage, nothing more

  • looks pretty good

  • well if im right that means that lady snowblood the manga came out b4 kill bill the movie so it dont really matter were it came from cuz ya kno movie wise kill bill looks alot more new then lady snowblood doz so y argue in the first place i mean there jus movies jeese....

  • You should really learn to correctly type out words if you want people to value your opinion.

  • The manga came out in 1972 and the movie came out in 1976. But the manga, as always, is better.

  • Comment removed

  • I have yet to see this movie. Is Princess Blade a good remake of it? I will probably be able to see it before this is why I ask.

You guys should check out Shogun Assassin and Duel to the Death as well.

  • wait... so kill bill was a remake?

  • cool flick by Mr. Fujita

  • this movie is really based on its manga, every scene is exactly in the manga. they've captured it beautifully

  • Brilliant movie.

  • How old is this movie? It looks pretty good!

  • If I remember correctly early-mid 70s. AWESOME MOVIE!!!!

  • Kill Bill Sucks! Lady Snowblood is better

  • Kill bill is a shrine to this movie and others.. is not trying to be better!!

  • kill bill is a cash register for a thief who steal without asking then makes like its all his idea. Rent-one Tear-a-ton-off!

  • You have no idea what you're talking about. Tarantino made a collage that has become just as much a piece of art as any other movie.

All the movies he "stole" from had stolen themselves for other, older movies as well.

"Kill Bill is a temple of worship -- a devout hymn of praise to crap cinema (which isn't always crappy)."

  • he took other's ideas and made money off them. That's stealing. And he did it with virually every film he's so-called made.

  • Oh right, because bogus sword fights were INVENTED in Lady Snowblood.

Are you gonna tell me that since the movie The Magnificent Seven was based on Seven Samurai, it's no good ?

  • the plot and the schematic were stolen from Lady Snowblood without atribution to source, like so many other Rentone Tear-a-ton-off flicks. Magnificent Seven atributes its source and offered gratitude for its use. Kurosawa responded by sending the director a gift katana. PRETENDING you wrote something you didn't is called STEALING.

  • I've read the graphic novel and it had not one thing similar to kill bill other than shinken. Even if it was like the movie, he DID in fact make it public and openly talks about it alot about how some of these movies influenced kill bill. It's even credited in the DVD intro.

I think people are just angry that a somewhat obscure cult classic like lady snowblood has been used for something so mainstream as kill bill which takes awaythe the pride movie geeks have of "knowing" about snowblood.

  • Would you argue that Andy Warhol "stole" from Monroe or Elvis ?

  • Warhol didn't dress himself up and try to pass himself off as either. He just took their photos. Image warhol dressed like elvis...going "thenk yuh vera much...I'm Warhol...like Elvis only better!" Diddn happen! RentOne Tear-A-Ton-Off stole the plot, concept, camera angles, dialogue, and everything else from other people's pre-existing work they wrote/directed. That ain't right.

  • Right. The story of Snowblood isn't original in any way. The whole revenge thing has been done millions of times.

All these movies are completely UNoriginal, and that's the PIONT. They are all cheesy ripoff's of each other. That's the charm of it all. Only movie geeks who take themselves too seriously don't get it.

I work in music, and the debate rages on every time a sample of someone else's song is used or sounds like something else. Are the white stripes stealing from Led Zep ?

  • In films, dialogue, angle of shots, lighting, editing, and score are original work by talented people. Revenge and swords may be seen before; its called genre. But the film's execution is what makes a movie unique. Tear-a-Ton-off stole all above characteristics of less known productions, imitated them in his work and make like he thought them up, assuming that since the original films were too obscure for anyone to notice or care. Only a no-talent would even consider such.

  • Wrong. He knows that people who appreciate his movies are usually hard core fans of obscure films. He knew people would notice, which is why is openly admits using them as inspiration.

Are you assuming that you have more talent than him ? OR that you know better than the judges who have accorded him an Oscar as well as 46 other awards plus 36 nominations ?

  • he does now that he's been caught. He originally said he had never seen City on Fire, the direct scene for scene inspiration for Reservoir Dogs and "looked forward to seeing it."

  • To a music geek like me, it's sometimes bothersome to see bands like the white stripes use the same feel, chord progression, type of lyrics as bands like Led Zepplin.

But some can see through all that and notice that they actually ARE very talented and do that style well (unlike all those posers like the stills, sam roberts and the killers) and pull off something new using something old as reference.

  • Led Zeppelin isn't even original; the problem here is not whether or not Tarantino is ripping these movies but the fact that he's getting so much credit but who cares that's just commercialism and commercialism sucks . . . if Tarantino made those movies in his basement, even if they are total rip-offs (which I agree), they would be totally badass. Quentin's movies are decent whether or not he rips. Don't dwell on his fame just watch his movies. This one is way better though as a serious film.

  • even the star wars movies were made from recycled ideas movie\story\music ideas are nearly always stolen from somewhere else, the only question is wich film you like best & enjoy it then shut up, at least tarantino made a movie instead of sitting around moaning about bad ones.

  • Erm . . . well I can't find my comment to see what I said but from memory I'm pretty sure that was my point, ya silly cunt.

Ironically Star Wars ripped a lot from Japomovies too, Kurosawa to be exact. Tarantino is decent but the reason people bitch is because the original is so much better. That's an opinion too though. It's all relative, that was my point about the basement thing.

  • dont call me a silly cunt for no reason. that comment was directed at no one specific, just people who would join in on this discussion in general

  • I didn't for no reason. I did 'cause you're cute. All I know is I got a comment reply message on my e-mail account.

  • ???? i suppose cute cunt is nicer than silly cunt lol

  • the word silly isn't exactly offensive either though . . . and the cunt thing, shouldn't be a big deal this is the internet, there are cunts everywhere . . .

  • dont worry im hard to offend i was merely jokingz lol tho on youtube its hard to tell, things are taken out of context and misconstrued until the comments page is literally FILLED with nutjobs fighting over a mild argument of wich everyone's forgotten anyway lol

  • diddymuck I don't completely disagree with you but your "clever" name for Tarantino is not so clever actually.

  • oooo Lady Snowblood kicks ass

  • WOW i just read this i had no idea there was a movie, I have to try and buy it now.

    Thanks

  • Meiko Kaji looks hotter in Yakuza Papers Series. Lady Snowblood is not quite as good as Yakuza Papers, but it's definitely more than just enjoyable.

  • Tarantino is so overrated. I don't dislike him but I don't like him either. I would compare him to Sergio Leone except Leone kicks ass.

  • I've been wanting to see this movie for a long time. Is it anywhere online?

  • veoh

  • Thank you. I owe you one.

  • They have it at F.Y.E. at the mall

  • What a beautiful lady, i've been listening to here stuff for a long time now.

    Fav tracks:

    Shura No Hana

    Jeans Blues

    Betsuni Dottekoto Naishi

    Shuki No Uta

    Meinichi

    Banka

Meiko No Yume Wa Yoru Hiraku

  • Wow. Meiko Kaji is quite beautiful, and her singing voice is lovely too!

  • I agree!

  • God yes, she's my idol.

    Especially as Lady Snowblood.

I don't give a shit if Quentin Tarantino is "paying this tribute" with Kill Bill I and II.

He ripped this off, down to the way Yuki walks. Not original at all..

  • oh my! i have seen this film including the Female Prisoner's installments! it is better than the Lady Snowblood 2.. The story is very amazing and she really kicks ass!

  • JAPANESE movies of the early 70's ie LADY SNOWBLOOD,SCORPION,etc, were not made on huge budgets, but the DIRECTORS were usually YOUNG,coming out of the PSYCHEDELIC 60"s & TRYING NEW TECHNIQUES to make CHEAP & ENTERTAINING MOVIES,[by 70's JAPANESE STANDARDS & don't forget the CENSORSHIP ISSUE,unlike HOLLYWOOD where a BIG MOVIE HAS to be succesful, look back past at academy award winners, not many low budgets or UNKNOWN YOUNG ACTORS there!JAPANESE MOVIES ARE DIFFERENT,THEY'RE NOT MADE FOR THE WEST

  • This movie rocks as kill bill rocks. It seems that you guys dont really know much about movies.. except of the story, kill bill & lady snowblood arent compareable.. kill bill is trash, but GOOD trash, like azumi or something. but in my dvd-shelf, lady snowblood stands next to movies like sword of doom, or hero... and not next to kill bill.

  • Quentin Tarantino was bringing back the classic such as Lady Snowblood in KILL BILL in films that enjoyed, so all this crap bout KILL BILL taking that song is bull.

  • I agree. There is no such thing as an original idea. Everything is built on innovation. Brilliant artists reinterpret art as homage to classics and creatively cite them. They add their own distinct style and twist on previous concepts and reintroduce them to the current generation. Both movies are great--like any of you could do better. If not for Tarantino, I wouldn't have known Lady Snowblood. It would've become a forgotten relic albeit masterful.

  • milame genomeno to krasaki tou tsou oso den paei!

  • toho films rules

  • Tarantino makes reference to dozens of Asian revenge films-it isn't stealing, it's homage.

  • fair enough

  • ive read several reviews saying kill bill (a film i like) copied this movie(a film i havent seen, but really want to see). next thing you know, in the trailer i hear the song used in the kill bill climax scene! wow i thought asian movies only began to get worldwide fame in the last decade, but american directors have been at work and have even been heavily influenced by asian movies already!! ive learnt quite a bit today lol.

  • naah americans have been rippin off asian movies for decades..

  • entre las mejores pelis de la historia

  • So looking forward to this film and finally being able to sink my teeth into the original manga by Kazuo Koike.

  • I had no idea just how much Lady Snowblood got ripped off by QT until now. The director should sue him for everything he's got!!!

  • You would be amazed on how many other Hollywood movies are based or copied from other asian films... Lady Snowblood is a Masterpiece, Kill Bill is a joke with uma in a TrackSuit.

I liked Kill Bill at first until I watched Lady Snowblood, and now Kill Bill is just unwatchable. Same goes for other Hollywood Movies after viewing many other asian movies.

  • True. + I regret to admit that in the case of The Ring, I saw Gore verbinski's version before Hideo Nakata's original, which really ruined it for me. :(

  • lol me, I wanted to see the ring, that so many people talked about so I downloaded the Us version on shareaza (long time ago :P) but like it happens often, the filename was wrong, it was in fact the original jap instead. Haha, men, it saved my life! Then people asked me about the farm and the horse stuff.. ?$# what ? Yes Us remakes = uncharismatic and spiritless. Not the same culture , not seeing the film the same way.. It can only gives bad results. Some can make movies; Cohens, kubrick etc

  • Tarantino is very unoriginal when it comes to revenge epics.

  • agree meiko awesome..love the song too..after watching trailers etc think that kill bill vol one should be titled:a tribute to meiko kaji..just ordered lady snowblood looking forward to watching that!

  • The Flower of Carnage is an awsome and beautiful song

  • Meiko Kaji would kick Uma Thurmans ass any day.

  • this movie has inspired kill bill, Tarantino is a genius

  • Tarantino is a copy/paste fanboy.

  • If you watch the making of Kill Bill, he full well admits that he referenced Lady Snowblood for Kill Bill.

    Duh.

  • Referenced, try copying....QT did the same in Reservoir Dogs..See Lady Snowblood and City on Fire instead...See Infernal Affairs instead of The Departed...

  • thankyou , lol.

people just don't seem to get that.

  • This is like Kill Bill, so i guess kill bill ripped of this movie :(.

  • steal...barrow, in some way or another you are all committing the same acts...what makes Quentin Tarantino any less human?...as he has once stated..."i steal from every movie ever made."

  • Tarantino is a huge fan of Asian cinema, so it makes perfect sense that he would take a film like Lady Snowblood and pay homage to it, adapt it, and redevelop it. He's not disgracing it, he's not stealing it, he's embracing it, breathing new life into it.

Sounds cliche, I know, but imitation truly is the sincerest form of flattery.

  • Sounds like a biased way of putting it.

So even in his packaging and marketing of his movie, he "paid homage" to the original eh? The yellow and black, the font, the style of the trailer...

Don't get me wrong, Kill Bill is easily one of my fave movies but you sound like a fanboy blindly following.

  • It isn't an issue of fanboyism.

It isn't an issue of imitation.

It isn't an issue of "better" or "worse."

It's an issue of whether or not you accept the postmodern approach to art, and the recombination of a variety of artistic artifacts to create new works of art. Including things like packaging.

    You can enjoy both.

  • very well put , totally agree :)
