  • Thank you, I spent much of my time looking for a tutorial that teaches the truth that he was looking for! score of 10!

  • Thanks, really good tutorial!

  • What is "Modular Modeling"?

  • @STRIMIX Hi, thanks for the question. I know this is a problem a few people have come across with modular objects. There is some discussion of this on the venerable Polycount forums that may help you out.

    Good luck with your project.

  • Best tutorial. I have a problem though. After creating the first piece of road, when I held shift and dragged the faces (around 6:43), it did make a new copy but the "moving thing" (you know the Up, Sideways, Free moving direction arrows in Blue, Red and Green color) stayed at the same place as for the first piece. So whenever I moved it it kept the same amount of distance as it had (it didn't stay in the center of the object), how can I have the thing stay with the models I select? Please help.

  • excuse me for asking but i use maya 3d and i have a problem with my 3d models., they get really ugly shadows on them ones i put the in udk and i have only 5 weeks left to finish my project other wise i fail on college.

What is the propper way to lay out an custom lightmap uv for modular pieces, so that i won't get ugly shadows?

  • Yeah I would greatly appreciate a texturing tutorial for it aswell especially on how to get it into UDK and layered nicely.

  • Thank you so much! I never thought of doing it this way. I had a road in under twenty minutes, and that just blows my mind.

  • Holy Crap! I have used Max for a LONG time. I nealry spit my drink out when I saw you do "Hinge From Edge". I had NO idea that was a thing. Thank you so much. I have been wondering how to do 90degree sidewalk bends (where you would stand on the corner) for ever. Hope these texture well.

  • Are you gonna show us how to UV and texture it?
