the only good i can imagine this being is the flying part in the airport,you drive to it,connect,fly then when you get where your going,disconnect and drive off.no rental car or taxi or anything.they should make it adaptable to any car.

Damn right it's a terrible idea. Looks a lot like the "flying machine" idea people were trying (and failing) to make since 1890. Ditch the lifting surfaces, you couldn't control it in forward flight anyway. Visibility sucks. Engines: where? You couldn't fit a big enough motor in the trike to power 4 lift engines. If you make 4 engines, where do they go? Where do you keep fuel? What if 1 fan fails? $10M might make it fly, sort of. The same problem stopped 1000 inventors; pain-in-the-ass reality.

I think this is a very good idea. People have been trying to make roadable aircraft for a long time, and I think this is probably the ultimate solution to that problem.

For people to be interested, it needs to be one unit, that converts to flying automatically preferably. Look at the Terrafuga Transition or Samson Skybike for example. Where are people going to store that ducted fan apparatus you have there? You have all the problems of hangar rental for a normal aircraft. Second, ducted fans are not the answer, any single engine failure means certain death. It has to be able to glide or autorotate like a helicopter or the government will never let you fly it

The problem with this concept is that the two-part design means a lot more people will be spending significant time with just the roadable section - which doesn't have the appeal of a standard car or bike.

With the flying section, it's better - but why not just buy or rent a Cessna instead?

To work, a flying vehicle or roadable aircraft has to be about 90% as appealing as either current cars or planes in one of its forms, or the additional function simply won't be enough to sell it.
