  • Fa jin is just a word. This is one two three.... force transference. Rooting and a to b.It is not the highest expression of the thing that is meant by the word fa jin.It is a form of crude force ,(dan Yi), force in a single direction. That is what I see. The only way to compare it is to feel it yourself. Most people would not know better.Shun Jen however is one. That is one moment in time, not a to b.

  • first time i saw this guy's videos i was like who the hect is he- now im like wow :)

  • aaaand this is also what happens to yellow shirt during a strong breeze

  • This summer Bruce will be giving an instructor training in ba gua and then whoever wants to learn the fundamentals can learn from his certified students. It's a great pleasure to watch this man. Diane

  • so fast

  • Bruce, in fa jin demonstrations I don't want to see ANY help from the students being pushed, even if that means the demonstration is less impressive to the lay man.

In this demonstration it's hard to distinguish the actual force produced by you and the stiff-armed self-pushes of your student.

Most obvious in the shoulder fa jin, but visible throughout the demo.

  • I agree. this is jin, force. no fa, method. this is not a good way to demonstrate either. fa jin is explosive and must be demonstrated in such a way or it is not fa jin. because of this, you cannot show on someone's body. they will get hurt. strike a hand pad or similar with fingertips resting on the pad and cause disruption. if you're doing that, you can say you're demonstrating fa jin. if not, go train.

  • 發勁

    發(issue, send out) ,not 法(method)

    勁(energy), not 力 (force)

Energy can be sent out in different ways. It can be controlled. That's the beauty of it.

  • @RonnySayfan Ronny, the stiff arm of the student represents a moment in time (a snapshot so to speak) that must be captured to lock structure and then emit power. And if you know what you're doing, you'll be able to lock their structure and emit power regardless of their intentions. In that respect, that is how fa jing is learned and trained. So this is right on the money for training and learning. It's damn good, amazing even.

  • That's quite informative, so basically, the fa jin also comes from rooting of back leg. Back to more stance training I go. Thanks Bruce...

  • @BritishRacingGreen

I think he's showing how you can generate power out of ANY of the joints. legs, front kua, back kua, tan tien, shoulder, etc.

  • I wish Bruce would do some app and form teaching videos.I mean ifI could learn from the man first hand I would. I know he was an indoor student and probably only teaches other indoor students traditionally. But I would love to see the man show the world what real Bagua is.

  • wow....its good that fajing is no longer some secret. I wish we could hear the sound though would love to hear your instruction.

  • Bruce Frantzis is #1

  • balls

  • this is balls

  • Wow. Great fajing from a great master. Thanks for this. Love your books too.
