Also wanted to say that in addition to dotting the "i" as one of the biggest honors you could ever have, probably right below would be directing the OSUMB in the playing of the National Anthem.
I want to say it was 1994. St. Francis was playing Waite @ Waite. The OSUMB was performing at Waite as well, and I recall them doing pregame, with St. Francis' Carl Collier directing the OSUMB in the playing of the National Anthem. Unfortunately, they left at halftime, but it's really cool when a big school band like OSU's will play with the high school kids.
i am part of the scott county drumline hence the name and we as a band the scott county band we played at one af the skull session some time in 08 and one of the songs was "congo" something but osu band is good
I pressume you mean with pc..Port Clinton band..Grad of PC in 77..the same year we beat Oak Harbor so bad in football..and there was a big fight...LMAO
Itis incredible to find this on you tube. Wish someone would post the half time show. I was there in memory of my brother who passed away 2 days ealier. This event was one of the last thing we talked about the day before and he was so excited aboat it! Thanks!!!
How lucky are they? I wish we would have had the best damn band in the land visit my high school, Fremont Ross, (when I was in high school). How did they get the band to come? and in the middle of football season, too.
This video brought tears to my eyes. I was a student of former PCHS band director Earl Warnke and OSU band director Dr. Jon Woods, and I was so disappointed that I couldn't attend this game. You made my day. Thanks.
It's funny how in high school being in the band it's social suicide, but in college the band is loved by everyone. I went to OSU and whenever I saw someone in the band I made sure I stopped and tell them how much I appreciate The Best Damn Band In The Land!!
haha port clinton won against oak harbor this year (:

Actually, it was the Ottawa County OSU Alumni Association that enabled TBDBITL to appear at the OH/PC game.
It took a lot of coordinated effort, money, and time for that to happen, and it was a truly amazing night.
Thanks to Mr. Kania for the video.
