  • I love your accent!

  • love love love your accent! so adorable!

  • Are you from TEXAAAAAAAS? :D

  • I am under my husbands account and I NEVER comment on Youtube, but I just had to say, you have SUCH a cute accent! It is so adorable! Also, thanks for the tips, I have a ton of those fiber optic brushes but never used them for blush application before. Anyway, I'm from Houston, Texas and I guess because it's a real big city I am not used to hearing such cute accents (despite the common stereotype that everyone from Texas has an accent....). Where are you from?

  • I don't want to sound mean or anything but I can see where your face makeup starts and ends because your ears and neck are a totally diferent color from your face =S I think that if you want to use that foundation you should cover those areas with foundation as well, but the best thing to do would be to choose a diferent colored foundation that's closest to your skin tone.

  • love your accent:)

  • You explained the fiber optics brush amazingly well.

  • a stippling brush

  • u have a really pretty smile xx

  • Where are you from? I love your accent :D

  • wow u have a squeky voice

  • LMAO @ skunk & squirrel hairs being used...that was toooooo cute the way u corrected yourself. That type of brush is referred to as a "Skunk Brush" because of it's dual tone (black & white). I really enjoyed and appreciated how acticulate u are at explaining. Great work, keep it up! :)

  • @ndnbaby2008 ooooops, that's aRticulate*

  • I know! That was adorable!

  • thanks for this video :). my mom and my sister both wear blush differently so i was getting confused with how to put it on. i want to get into blush, but i'm light skinned and i get pretty rosy jus bein out in the sun or gettin embarassed or laughing so idk if i even need it lol.

  • I'm in love with your accent!! I love the Southern Draaaawwwl lol

  • ok i dont know how i got on this video but i would go outside looking like a clown LOLOL

  • Question: r u Spanish?? Cuz u have an Spanish accent!

  • @36shima36 LOL! It is called "being from the south"

  • Thank you this was very helpful! I am new to makeup and this really helped!

  • i wasnt able to comment on your adding foundation video, but i must say your tutorial helped me ALOT. i hope to be attending beauty school soon, and i need as much practice as i can get! but i use to use covergirl foundations, and i broke out like crazy. but the mineral foundations are awesome. so light, and definitely doesnt feel or look like i have 500 pounds of makeup on (: thanks for the help! keep making videos!

  • Thanks for the tutorial. Great info!

  • this is a really excellent tutorial! thanks! :)

  • Thanks very much. I'm pale, and was afraid to use blush, unless it was almost the color of my skin, and not very pigmented. I got a dual fiber brush, and it works great...just like you show. :)

I think your videos are great. Are you a makeup artist? You could be. ...or a teacher. You're talented and kind.

  • it really helps a lot. thanks

  • Love the vid girl, some really great tips here.

Also people google "fiber optic brush" and you will see she knows what she is talking about. Some of the comments made here are the reason they make a "comment disable" button!

  • She sounds like Joy Turner , Earl's ex wife..On the show "My Name is Earl"

  • No offence but i didnt like this and i usually like all of them

  • wow people are so judgmental just because of her accent. They think she's all uneducated cause of her accent. If she had a diff. accent and said exactly what she just said in the video people wouldn't say anything. She's a cute southern bell and people need to leave her alone!

  • Their called stippling brushes. The apples of your cheeks are the tops of the fleshiest part of your cheek or the part that sticks out the most. Geez. I'm twelve and I know more than you. Cute accent though.

  • @animalabbie76 one: it's they're not "their"

two: did you read everything at the top of the comments? obviously not.

get your little preteen ass off of youtube and go play with some barbies or whatever it is kids do nowadays

  • @knobylob Well guess what? ASK ANYONE!!!! THEIR CALLED STIPPLING BRUSHES!!! just stop downing everyone else because your fat, ugly, and old. And i wont get my ass off youtube... you should get YOUR old Grandma ass (if you have one) of Youtube. And If you won't get your ass off youtube, I will get it off youtube for you.

  • @animalabbie76 do you know how to spell you moron?! it's THEY'RE NOT THEIR you fucking retard. you clearly are twelve years old. stupid cunt.

  • @animalabbie76 also, there(you like how i put the right for of there didn't you) are many name your dumb ass.

    stippling brush

    duo fiber brush

    skunk brush

    and fiber optic brush

stupid bitch. go back to listening to bieber or some shit like that.

  • @knobylob why dont you get your ass off youtube... no one wants you on youtube if your such an ass. Just keep your shit to yourself and get your fuckin grandmas ass off youtube.

  • @animalabbie76 are your feeling hurt little girl? are you going to go cry to mommy? get the fuck out of here you dumb little bitch and stay in school.

  • @animalabbie76 Correction, there are several different names for this type of brush. It's ridiculous how immature you two are and how much time you are spending arguing with each other. Both of you should try arguing without using words like "cunt" or "grandma ass", especially you animalabbie76. You sound like you are a 10 year old little girl who doesn't know how to defend herself with any grace.

  • LOL I agree...her foundation is the wrong color (look @ her neck) and looks orangish. Her face just looks dirty. Poor girl needs to be getting tips not giving them.

  • your so cute! :)

  • thank you, very helpful!

  • i think you are right about the apple of the cheeks and where everyone says it is but it does look wrong that way, i have put it on where everyone says to and where you actually did and when i dragged it out more rather than concentrating it on "the apples of my cheeks" it looked WAY better!!

  • That's one hellofan accent, sister!

  • holy country accent I ADORE IT :)

  • "guess they dont use skunk" lol

  • i love ur accent!!

  • wow people freak out just because of the name of the brush... and great tutorial and love the accent :)

  • So.. I've been watching your videos for the past hour or so. Haha. You're awesome! I loved your review on the AcneFree severe. I just got this product tonight and I'm so excited to try it out!

  • You seem like a natural teacher! It's nice to find someone who really explains the little intricacies. Thanks for the great info, Keep up the good work.

  • wow you sound like your from texas

  • I love ur accent:-)

  • @XxAshley918xX actually yes I do know what fibre optic is in the sense of cables etc. Some brush companies thought the white bristles (because they are less dense and stick out further than the natural hair) looked a bit like fibre optic christmas trees...they decided to call their brushes fibre optic to distinguish between their stipplers and other brands. Depending on where you buy you will hear them called fibre optic, dual fibre, stippling or skunk brushes. :D

  • @XxAshley918xX THERE IS A TYPE OF BRUSH CALLED FIBER OPTIC !!!!!

  • U have such cute accent!

  • omg i love your accent :)

  • Both terms are correct. Depending upon the retailer you order from the brushes will be called "dual fiber", "fiber optic" or "skunk" brushes. Multiple terms were created by different companies to help distinguish between brands so most people end up calling them what the first company they got what from did out of habit. :D

  • @crepsliekrook exactly, I'm sure you have seen a fiber optic christmas tree right? Apparently someone thought the white bristles (because they are more sparse and stick out farther) looked a little bit like fiber optics so they called their brushes that. ...It's just a way that some companies named the brushes to distinguish their brand from other stippling brushes. You will hear them called either fibre optic, dual fibre, skunk, or stippling brushes depending on where you buy.

  • @annieFKNelectric no its not ?

  • I always watch and rewatch this video =) ur too adorable

  • with the fiber optic brush you are spending a lot of money that is not really necessary with that all black blush brush you can do the same thing with the same high pigmented blush. i use nyx blushes with that brush and all you do is barely touch the the brush to that blush and get it all around then blow on it and it will go in sheer too

  • ur accent soo kwll!! nyc vid!

  • what accent is this? I love it!

  • thanks great vid :)

  • Love your accent (:

    Thx For the video !

  • such a cutie!

  • i too, love your accent!! you're adorable!

lol skunk, i <3 you, you're really good at this :)

  • thnx...i saw this n really help...but just tht mine is smaller than those two but i think it works better cuz i also got a fluffier one but the smaller one gav me more control on how much product i wanted to put in a certian palce..

  • I love your accent! Thanks 4 the help!

  • she is so country!!!

  • u r like the "cowgirl!"

  • This was quite informative and I think you did an excellent job! Even an "old fogie" such as myself learned something new about the proper blush brush! Thanks!

  • Thank you! ^.^

  • wow u look so diff without makeup.

  • thnx for the help!

and i reaally love ur accsent! <333

  • Fiber optic = science that deals with the transmission of signals for broadband, TV and voice....typically involves cables (glass, plastic fibers)....I think you mean "fiber duo" brushes = 2 types of bristles. Also, I've heard that the best way to use these stippling brushes is to "tap, tap, tap" product onto your face :))) i think you are just adorable!

  • now I know why my blushes come out weird...i always see girls applying it right on the spot u told us to avoid LoL...i won't do that ever again...thanks for sharing!!

  • I have tried the Crown website and nothing is there another site you would recommend? and I loved this tip. I just started using blush and still scared of it. I have a few NYX and oh boy pigmented and one MAC, I need Help LOL.

  • You could check out starsmakeuphaven. I'm pretty sure they have the duo-fiber stipler brushes and they really help out with the pigmentation. The big ones will work just as good. :D Good luck!

  • HI Erica, Where would I get those brushes you showed, I don't want to spend so much on the one from MAC. Thank you.

  • i love your videos! i discovered you about 20 minutes ago and love all the tips. you're so cute and the accent is so cool. i've ahd my account for a while now just to write comments on peoples videos and your the first person i've ever subscribed to because i love your videos so much!

  • Hey Erica.I love watching your tutorials. Thanx so much.I was just watching the blush one n u made a side text comment of using disposable Styrofoam bowls.Styrofoam is extremely bad for the environment bc it is not recyclable in many areas and also takes hundreds of years (about 400 years in a landfill) to disintegrate unlike paper which takes about 2-5 months...Paper is not a safe alternative either because it is made of trees. The best tip is to use a bowl that can be rinsed out! Thanks :)

  • Erica, I couldn't find the brush on the Crown web site. Do you have the item number? Thanks!

  • i love love love ur accent ;DD

  • skunk... ha ha ha...

  • i'm glad you talked about the apple of your cheek. when i've applyed it the way some other makeup people on u-tube say to do it i do look like a clown. so thank you for the information on where the cheek really is.

  • Thank you! I'm glad I could help! :D I have noticed that too and it really does make a big difference when applying it just a little farther back especially in pictures. It looks so much more natural in my experience so I am glad my little kernel of knowledge was a good one. lol Thanks again! xoxo Erica

  • You look like I did in the 80's in this video... How cute! :P

  • what do you use to edit your videos now?? they have an awesome professional quality. : )

  • Aww, thank you! I am still using windows movie maker but I downloaded a pretty new font and I found a way to make them look better when they go on youtube. you know how when you get done it says save file to your computer when you get to the last part and it says movie setting pick the dot next to other settings and save it in video for local playback 2.1mbps ntsc and it will look a lot higher quality on youtube. It takes longer to upload but it is sooo worth it!

  • thanks for replying! i'll have to try that. : )

  • 3.22 - "In actualality"!!

    omgosh you are soo cute.

THANKYOU how to make application less clownish. =) i think your accent is endearing.

  • in actuality is actually correct (i think)

    love your videos erica!! xx

  • I think your accent is downright adorable, and you're very informative.

  • I love Erica's accent. I think the fact that everyone has a unique way of dialect & speaking, makes us all different. If we all sounded the same, it would be a boring world!

  • GIRL I LOVE YOUR ACCENT, Its so cute!!! =)

  • That would be like me saying I think you are ugly...no offense. Even if you say no offense, it's still offensive. There are MILLIONS of other people on youtube. Don't like it? DON'T WATCH IT!!! PRETTY SIMPLE :D

  • I love your cute 80's outfit. You look like Debbie Gibson! :P Seriously, you keep doing these tutorials and making me want all of these makeup products! I'm gonna be poor! :P

  • Ok so some brushes are animal hair briselts, does that mean that they mis treat the animal kinda like making fur coats? just wondering. Is there syntetic alternative

  • I always use synthetic brushes - I find them to be 1000x softer than natural (animal hair) brushes!

Try EverydayMinerals - they have the BEST brushes, all synthetic, and with their custom kits the price is unbeatable

  • It really depends on the company but yes some companies do mistreat the animals. I know mac brushes are cruelty free but I don't know about crown brush. I am pretty sure adorned with grace brushes are too. And Everyday Minerals are for sure. EDM has a fiber optic brush that is completely synthetic, it's a lot like the ones I used but a lot of people say it's too flimsy. It would probably work really well for the purpose of blush but not for liquid foundation. Hope this helped :D

  • Mistreatment is possible... It seems like even the manufacturers seem to be clueless where the hair actually comes from. That is why I use only synthetic or human hair brushes (those are very rare though). Everyday minerals make awesome synthetic brushes!

  • I LOVE your accent ;]

  • You're really good! And thorough. 5/

  • You look great without makeup, like a little girl (in a good way), very beautiful!

  • Hey Erica!

ok i know about and completly agree and understand you, but are those brushes like the coastal scents stipling brush....sorry to ask....=]

  • Hey! CS does did sell a pink large stippling brush that is very similar to the big one (mac 187) I'm not sure if they sell the pink one anymore but it was a really good brush. They also sold a black one and that one was bad. It shed a lot and wasn't really dense enough. :( But crownbrushes sells all the same brushes and more so your should definitely check them out!

  • Also ELF came out with a flattop powder brush in their studio line for 3$ they look totally different then the stipplers but they do the EXACT SAME job! So it's really cool. :D you can even use liquid foundation with it and get the same effect. It is VERY soft so it gives the light application just like a duo fibre brush :D

  • i love your little bow erica :) this tut helped a lot!! this makeup looks super pretty on you btw :)

  • Lol There gonna think use Kentucky girls have make up brushs made from skunk fur.

  • i would love it if you made a review on these brushes... :)

  • Thanks for sharing! :)

  • Your foundation color is wrong. Look at the difference between your face and your neck. WAY wrong, thats when you know you dont have the right color.

  • Hi there! I agree it looks off in this video the reason why is because right before filming this video I also filmed a contour application video and applied the contour quite heavily in order for the camera to pick it up. The bronze color of the contour powder applied so heavily is what is giving that effect. You'll understand once the contour video goes up in the next couple of days. Thanks for the comment! :D

  • Do you mean duo fibre not fibre optic? lol

  • Depending upon the company you will hear it called one of the two but both are correct. They can also be called "skunk" brushes and stippling brushes. The latter two are more slang terms and the first two are more used by companies as a professional term. Thanks for the question. :D

  • wow thanks!! this is a really helpful tip!!!

  • what kind of foundation did you put on before you but on the blush because your skin is so beautiful!! i really hate my skin cause i am really pale and have freckles so do you recommend any brands of foundations? thanks:D

  • i still cant believe how different eastern ky accents are from western..lol

  • Great tutorial. I've been applying my blush wrong ;-(

  • Omg thick accent, but I love it. lol

  • lol yeah, I am from Eastern Kentucky so I can't really help it :P Glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks for watching!

  • omg, I love your accent! My best friend growing up was from kentucky and every time I watch your vids, I think of her, lol. Love the accent, it's so sweet sounding! Loving the new haircolor too, btw.

  • great Vid Erica!!!!!!!
