life isnt fair..brahms at the end of his life writes these preludes which are without question the best organ works since bach..and so many have given their life to writing for the organ..the enigma of genius..mozarts organ pieces are another example although not on this level
Yes, Bach wrote an early organ arrangement of this tune (in B minor and catalogued as his BWV 742), and a bunch of settings of it for singers. The most familiar ones are in the Passions and the Christmas Oratorio.
It's too bad that Brahms abandoned his hopes of becoming an organ composer and took another direction. His organ music (of which this is not even the best example) is amazing.

Beautiful interp. I like a little darker sound registrationally, but it is beautiful playing.
