why is everyone so paranoid about this stuff? in a blind taste test if anyone here can tell the difference in the taste of a dish cooked with a spoon that was used as opposed to a spoon that wasn't, i'd be amazed. and i highly doubt anyone here has been sick from a meal as a result of someone using a used spoon. if they were i'd blame their sterilized weakened immune systems as a result of living in a anti-bacterial paranoia.

Sadly, happens way more often than you want to think.

As I was taught during my training. You use two spoons, One that removes food from the pan, and transfers it to another spoon (without touching). The second spoon is the one you taste off of. So that you're continually using only one true tasting spoon.

@ericbekkers adducations? hahaha well in any case, i know it's preferable to use one true tasting spoon that doesn't contaminate the source, but it happens often in restaurants and it's really not as big of an issue as you may think. after all, these are the same people that are touching your produce and the meat and such, and they're probably transferring as much bacteria during that process as they are reusing a tasting spoon. in the end, it's pretty negligible.
