In the video "Integrating GIS and R-Statistics" I am using Caliper's Maptitude GIS software (caliper .com ). I also use ESRI's ArcMap Business Analyst (esri .com). During my time as software and data review editor of the monthly publication GeoSpatial Solutions I also used MapInfo; now, however, I do not have a current copy on my Alienware 15x laptop computer. My experience is positive with all these software packages. Which is "best" depends on needs, budget, and work environment.
@GrantThrall Thanks! Good to know. I am primarily a ESRI and ERDAS user but I am currently interested in branching out from these platforms, mainly due to budgetary contraints and an interest in open source solutions.
Awesome! Thanks!
