  • Syd Barrett's songs are among the few things in this world I am truly comfortable in describing as "sublime."

  • SO MANY MEMORIES

  • Roger looking a little jealous of Rick.

  • It sounds like Roger singing the backup part. You know the part that goes" a drink a drink a drink a drink

  • I heard this sing a long time ago

    And I liked it

    Been drinking ever since

  • WOW and all this time I thought Syd wrote this!

Summer '68, Wearing the Inside Out, Great Gig in the Sky, I loved these songs from those albums the most and when I started learning more about PF I realized wow, Rick is Pink! And so underrated!

  • R.I.P Rick Wright

  • Rick plays his great gig in the sky :)

  • This is such a lovely song. Richard's voice is lovely.

  • who are the 3 no-brain disliked this movie?

I had another drink.... drink ...drink ....drink ....drink drink.....

    R.I.P Richard Wright!

  • One of my favourite Floyd songs of all time. It captures a moody, autumnal vibe that I only associate with this era of the band. That particular kind of magic was gone by the time they recorded their late period albums, though all those have their own very different high points. Rick Wright was an unsung genius.

  • sooo fine! ... sad & houmorous at once ;,O)

  • Eerie....& Amazing song!

  • Rick Wright was too hard on himself as a songwriter! This is a great bit of '60s pop-gotta love Nick Mason's drummingon this one!!

  • look at Glimour!! he's a child!

  • Love this song its so true!!!!!!!!!

  • sorry Eston1986

  • Ciao Richard... e grazie.

  • The sky is yours now Rick.

    R.I.P

  • Smug looking Mr Gilmore having just replaced his " best mate" Syd, who after leading the band was suffering from mental health problems. Roger Waters safe and predictable without Syd's genius to contend with. Oh well what goes around eh ?

  • sounds like you've got it all figured out...must be great to be you!

  • If you look at all the videos from '68, Gilmour is usually looking far more uncomfortable than smug.

  • Oh wow! This version is a totally different mix from the one I know on Relics... backwards piano and different fade at the end! Brilliant!

  • I love early Pink Floyd! Relics, Pipers, Saucerful, Atom Heart Mother, Meddle. Great stuff! RIP Syd, still thinking of you man.

  • I enjoy early Pink Floyd more than later. I played this for my friends once, they thought it was The Beatles or something. They didn't believe me when I told them it was Pink Floyd.

  • @Cizcan - and yet, those familiar with both catalogs would easily recognize it as Floyd and not the Beatles.

  • I know that I repeat myself, but, risking the accusation, I state that beyoundthebeat is the lysergic King of YouTube!

  • This was produced by Norman Smith - the same guy who recorded the first half of the Beatles' career; The Pink Floyd were also his first band he signed to EMI.

I also love Rick Wright's voice - he sings SO many Floyd classic and people don't know. And "Saucerful" is a keyboard masterpiece - incredibly underrated!

  • I dont like the pink floyd without syd.. just another band..

  • Syd was not in video, but this was B-side of Apples and Oranges, a Syd song, so maybe Syd is on recording (which is used in video). Gilmour is seen clearly in this video. Any PF fans know?

  • Syd indeed played on the actual recording, dig "Random Precision" an excellent book on Syd's recording history...which proves he played on a Pink Floyd # from "Saucerful..." no one knew about!

  • Its Rick Wright. He didn't write too many songs, but the ones he did were some of my favorites.

  • I agree Buggy

Rick had a nack for Har&melody

he made some classics on "Saucer"

I should check out his solo albums.

  • Who's the guy singing? Was Syd Barret still i the group in this video?

  • I have a hard time seeing who the guitar player in the video is, but nonetheless Syd Barrett was the guitar player and backing vocals on this song..richard sang on it though

  • Takes me back to 19 years old, copy of Relics, 1/8th of black, dark bedroom......

  • Early PF were so ahead of their time.

  • Trippy! Thanks!

  • great find! wish there had been more early Rick Wright PF stuff. he's a very underrated songwriter.

  • i agree, he is always so down on his own stuff, i think this is a great song.
