got my new ford f450 with dulley tires twin statcks and brand new firefighting light bar and a amber light bar and my 1.000 dollar plow let it snow bad this winter
Then he should fix it. I would refuse to drive it under those conditions, even if it means losing the opportunity to make some money. And there are other companies to work for, if you're good.
I hate those "blade trip plow" they are junk get a fisher or diamond with a cutting edge trip. Its a boring job plowing snow with no perks for the shitty hours
Didn't know they had just a cutting edge trip. Sounds more practical than a blade trip. Anyway, it wasn't my truck. But it's something to keep in mind if I ever do get a rig setup for plowing snow. I probably won't, though.
@kimchiman1000 BOSS, Hiniker, Curtis and Meyer all make a trip edge blade, and Fisher's entire line is a trip edge design. Western only uses the trip edge on their V-Plow if I remember correctly. Good vids though, thanks for sharing.
Yeah. My old boss (from the company I was driving for in this video) called me up last month, and urged me to come back an plow snow for them this winter. "We're paying double time now - not just time and a half", he tells me.
I still haven't taken him up on it - just can't manage to work up the desire to subject myself to it. I guess I'm not quite broke enough... ;-)
Haha! no shit! I still puish snow when theres nothing else to do in the winter - I have a few on a routine list that are community essential services that I have to plow out, so it's sort of an obligation..but memories of plowing include: a cold Bobcat 773, spun-off chains, rechaining in cold snow, foot pedals freezing, my bucket gets the shit scrubbed out of the cutting edge, you really just roll money over, but it keeps you popular in the community
I know what you're saying. But even so, the BOSS would have it other wise. It's a mad rush to knock off as many lots as possible in as short a time as possible. The owners make a LOT of money from this, unlike us drivers.
Gotta be a Powerstroke, about all i can hear is the turbo.

Double our normal wage. But it is usually when work is slow due to the weather, so I usually don't really come out ahead, unfortunately.

At your age, I would have done it. You could always save for a rainy day, unless it snowed constantly or you thought the smell of money stank.
