Hello VK,

I will keep you in my prayers. I have had a lot of physical pain in my life and there were times I wanted to be home with the Lord.

I know that through my experience that God showed me to have mercy towards others who are in similar situations. It is easy to be spiritual when all is good but it is tough when our lifes are in shambles.

Please know you're in my prayers. Lyme is a nasty bugger. I'm glad you managed to get a doctor who is familiar with it as early as you did. I wish you every success in your treatment.

On the insurance end, there are some clinical trials out that will provide you with the antibiotics for free. Most of the actual studies involve tests rather than novel drugs. You might look into that as a way to bypass the insurance issue.

Ive been reading the comments,and someone said that God is obviously absent ....hmmm,lets take a look at this ,its been diagnosed at a relatively early stage,and with your authritis it could have been a lot longer before things were realised ,plus you have a freind who has lyme ,so you are in contact with someone who knows what to look out for,plus one of your parents is in the medical proffession ,God has put things in place around you so that you do not end up in checkmate to this thing !:)

So you have no health insurance and a disease that will require extensive medical treatment. I would emigrate to Europe if I were you. I've been considering an expat adventure but starting a new life in Europe only makes sense if you need better health care options.

I couldn't afford to live in Europe in order to get "free" healthcare, which is most liekly substandard. This system is broken, but the care is still the best in the world. Why else would Europeans who have such "great" health care fly to the US and pay out of pocket for our health services? Because theirs is horrible. Whoever said we're 38th in the world skewed that study...

Yes, but you won't get those great health services if you can't pay for it. Anyway, I'm not sure if it is really that easy. You may need to become a citizen to qualify for free healthcare and applying for citizenship requires a physical.

It's actually the deer tick...I probably got it in my backyard.

The transmission rates in my area are low but it's expected to get worse because of the higher concentration of deer in my area and my community's proximity to the St. Lawrence Islands National Park.

I forgot to use my deet spray when I went for a walk yesterday in the nearby park. But the odds of me getting a tick are low because I'm constantly looking over my arms and legs because of my psoriasis ; Though I don't check the back of my knees that often. And they happen to like that area. :-/
