I was fortunate enough to hear Jane read these powerful words of Anno's at two separate concerts, in 2003 and 2004. It remains one of my favourites of his poems (of anybody's poems), perhaps less because I am now a mother myself than because I have since had the pleasure of meeting the wonderful mother for whom it was written.
Jane certainly knows Anno by heart. This is an incredible moment - right now and on the night of the mudslide near Anno's death. What a noise, what a breath of heaven. Bless you, Jane and glorious Bee. Thank you Anno for these words and for your...your...is there even a word? and thank you those who put this video together.
