Hi, we are a band that are heavily influenced by the kinks! If you could please spare 2 seconds to listen to a band that are still trying to play real music then check us out at our channel.
I heard this song about four years ago, the radio presenter didn't say the artists name. I just knew genre and Englishness. In a heated attempt to find the artist, all in all I've probably spent 50 hours on youtube listening through various bands of that era trying to find this song. I want to thank that presenter, my iPod is now oozing with great music that i wouldn't have found if it wasn't for him. After four years searching, I found this song 10 minutes ago. My happiness is ineffable :)
We're an independent label trying to make it in this game and the best way to do that is by being more known on youtube. One of the ways we stand out is we help unsigned artists get more fans by uploading their songs for a new fan base

I was listening to Little Steven's Underground Garage radio show a little while ago, and he was calling this song the beginning of heavy metal. Considering this was 1965 or so, he's probably right.
I can't stop listening to this song lately. I grew up in the 80s-90s, but I love 60s-70s-80s classic rock.
And yeah, I think The Beatles paved the way for the British Invasion (I'm a big fan of all of them), but these guys were probably the first hard rock band. I mean this is pretty heavy for 1965.
are you kidding me the Beatles started it all there whouldint be no kinks rolling stones if it wasint for the Beatles not a diss it is a good song though
@big5622 and if you read Keith's book he doesn't denied this... Beatles opened the way and the Stones broke inside and put all the mess with Animals, Kinks & Co ;)
@SantiagoUscocovich1 I never realized that! People! i attended an intergrated school on Long Island and let me tell you this: Black kids listened to all of these bands from that time at our school, and white kids listened to the soul group of that era. We all loved one another and got along. Maybe it was the turmoil of the times and we realized that petty differene were stupid and the thing we had in common was MUSIC! It certainly brings us together doesn't it?

Yes, they did a simulated witch hunt when it came out but they were blind as hell. I sit back and think how lucky I was to grow up when it all began at the age of 5. I knew even back then it was something special and it poured out hit after great hit for years. Unfortunately we'll never experience anything like it again and it's been buried by much mediocrity or worse.
The Kinks were the closest thing to The Rolling Stones. They were great and all I can say is thank god for the British Invasion! Their music sounds even better today and it's quite clear they had enormous talent.
