This is not the Coliseum in Rome. But I am not sure where this one is. Also, people are correct about Simon Crowell, but "Divo" is the male form of the female "Diva" Maybe she was looking at an older, or original, meaning of the word. If she didn't get so self-righteous about her indignation she cold have read on to find a more reasonable definition of "divo"

I have a doctorate in Music education, and have made a living as a professional musician for the last 21 years. I have also produced numerous recordings and film as well.

The DVD this comes from is poorly produced, critics agree (look them up - I did after viewing this). I'm not knocking the performers - it's just that nothing you hear when watching the video was actually recorded when it was filmed. To me, this always seems disengenuous

Ok, another observation -

There ARE other voices WAY in the background, but they're not of the other tenors, they are of an invisible choir (??).

Also, the single piper manages to sound like an entire regiment of pipers, and he never actually has to inflate his bag or work the bellows to play :)

If there was at least SOMETHING that was authentic about this presentation, it would be easier to buy into and enjoy. Alas, classical music has gone "Brittney Spears" - completely phony.

Also, very obviously re-recorded and post-produced in a studio after the performance - the lip syncing doesn't match up, nor do the vocal mics have any ambient sounds recorded through them.

All in all, a weird presentation.

Not knocking the song or the individual talents, just don't understand the disjointed production concept in this video/recording

I watched this and felt uneasy so I looked up the name "Il Divo" and it means "divine male performer". The Lord Jesus Christ is the only One who can be called Divine. He alone is devine. Man deserves nothing, least of all a name like that! It's easy to dismiss this as a gimmick, but as soon as those bagpipes start I could not care less who was singing this and what their motivations were. This song will always remind me of what I know to be true and when those hairs on the back of my neck stand up all my doubts are gone, even if they do return later.
