The brutal sound of Aborted (with their lead singer included) with female vocals mixed in among soft breakdowns and thundering blast-beats...they're an amazing group. I'd also recommend their songs Vagaries of Perception and Echoes. Trust me, they make Kivimetsan Druidi seem a little tame (in my opinion, at least)

This is just a casual exchange of opinions between two Metalheads, so I'll be open: The new Nightwish is an atrocity. Annette simply can't achieve Tarja's level of greatness. However, comparing Old Era Nightwish to Epica...Old Era Nightwish would have me every time. Tarja's simply a powerful vocalist, and the Orchestral/Symphonic aspect just makes it more alluring to me. Epica IS great though.

Kivimetsan Druidi...I wouldn't camm em a replacement for Nightwish. Excellent sound and such, there's no denying that. However...the only way a group could ever qualify as a Nightwish replacement is if they have the immortal Tarja Turunen herself doing the vocals. Tarja's sound is one of a kind. Watch the video for the End Of An Era performance of the Ghost Love Score. Just about every person in that place is crying. Hell, I was too, to be honest, and I was just watching the damn vid. :)

Y'know, not all metal is headbanging, Cryptopsy-style thrashing. There are some absolutely BEAUTIFUL Metal songs out there. I can name five right off the top of my head: Ghost Love Score by Nightwish, The Ghost Woman And The Hunter by Lacuna Coil, Tears by Dawn Of Destiny, Broken Angel by Godyva, and Whispers by UnSun. A true Metalhead does not discriminate, but enjoys music from just about every branch of Metal, and there's no exception here. This is a beautifully done song, by a talented band.
